I just go shoot at things. Keeps my characters well supplied for Rep, Fleet projects and anything else that comes up. Seriously, I've never once even come close to running low on expertise.
Indeed. The great irony of the "Fleet Recruitment" channel is that 99% of the people who even know it exists? They're there recruiting for their fleet. The utility of a recruitment channel that reaches absolutely NONE of the people you're trying to recruit is... Questionable, at best.

I wouldn't mind if it WAS the torpedo of doom. but no - those things hit for a quarter million. This is just the regular attacks. first shot deletes all shields, second shot tears 95% of the hull away. As it is, runing away is often my only option, if I can do it in the few seconds before I get obliterated.
I warped into the CE mission today and IMMEDIATELY came under fire from 3 or 4 battleships and a flock of Mirandas. I think my shields were half gone before my Vesta could even finish launching my first wave of fighters! NOT a pleasant intro to the new and "improved" mission...
