Heh yeah ... that "I had to wait a whole 10 min for a PvP match" cracked me up too
And as you mention, there's nothing wrong with exploration missions. If anything, they make leveling almost too easy since as you say, it is easy to grind toons to RA5 doing only them.
Sure we noticed it ,you now get around the same amount of Feds queueing as Klingons do as most other Feds are trying out to fight each other. We mostly get the same amount of games as before but you tend to see the same feds all 2-3 games now instead of 10-15.
Probably because there were so many Feds queuing up before that even if you lost half you would still have near instant queues.
I only play Klingon. Don't even have a starfleet officer. Though I would like to see our solar system model but won't wait through the tutorial again. I have leveled the whole way in capture and hold. Some cracked planetoid. Thats about it. I am not the greatest klingon player. I make mistakes. Some 1v1 fed I loose. Some I win. Oh and I'm also tired of getting hit with SNB and VM from the feds then shot at until dead.
I do play Klingon. I also ground up 3 RA 5's almost EXCLUSIVELY with exploration missions.
Don't tell me it can't be done.
I did it 3 times... since launch.
Now that exploration missions are out, I will do the same for the Klingon side.
I have more than a clue. I have history, experience and fact.
You probably think you're bragging here... dude this is pathetic. Why do you even play online games? Wouldn't you be happier with something like... oh... tetris? How about solitarie? STOP WASTING INTERNET BANDWIDTH TO SPEND ALL YOUR MMO TIME SOLOING ON PRIVATE INSTANCES!

BoPs are not overpowered, they suck. Sure, you get universal BO spots.... with one less box than any other ship at rank. And you get one less BO. So while everyone else is rocking 4 BOs totalling 11 skills, the guy in the BoP has 6. Also, the BoP has no benefit to skills, there's really nothing special about it but the battlecloak, which totally sucks in the first place. It's got 85% as much hull as the next weakest ship, and the shields are TRIBBLE. If it didn't have amazing maneuverability, you would never see one again. It's only that maneuverability that lets it orbit people in reverse and thereby circumvent most non-beam weaponry most of the time. If it couldn't do that, the field survival rate would be about 2 seconds after decloak even against the weakest PUGs imaginable.
As for the cannons/RSP/VM/BFP/SNB why don't you just force everyone to fight in cruisers with no engineering skills? Seems like that's what you whiney little fed noobs are asking for. GET A CLUE! The Miranda SUCKS and you don't even keep it longer than one day! Why don't you actually try playing the game a little bit before making ridiculous comments? Oh, right, because FORUM TROLLS ONLY PLAY THE FORUM.

What I do with my time is my business frankly. When I am compiling code or taking a break from programming, I am playing STO or CO. So if I choose to do exploration missions between programming sessions, that is what I choose to do. As far as you worrying about my bandwidth.... I have PLENTY.
I pvp very often as well. I would say I pvp more than I pve.
So just keep your rude comments to yourself, because they are pointless.
You don't know me, .. you don't know anything about me. Stop acting like you do.
Just did a few vs Klingons and it seems like after the S1 patch they are a lot stronger then before. They blast through my shields like it's paper. SNB and VM me all day. My phaser array MK X green are useless and I spend the points to max there performance and with 3 Feds on 1 klingon we can barely take down their shields, while they just blast through my like it's paper.
I have a R5 Star Cruiser. That 1 point turn helps a lot but phaser arrays are useless against Klingons. Which means Cruisers are useless in PvP. Which means Cryptic killed Star Trek. If you can't fly a cruiser whats the point.

This is why Cryptic should ignore all user feedback.

And yet Cryptic also allowed Cruisers to use Cannons (Not Dual/Dual heavy), and improved their Turn rate. So that you could use Cannons + Turrets and have a halfway decient rate of fire.
Will a cruiser be able to defeat a current SNB+VM using Bird of Prey? Probobly not. They are quite deadly little ships in the hands of a Science officer. I think we should all be greatful that the Bird of Prey doesn't ALSO have the innate Science abiltiies that fed Science ships have.

The same can be said of fleet escorts captained by science players. They may not be able to cloak, but during FvF, they can out right destroy cruisers. Sub nuc 'em blow thru their shield, hull...boom...your crew of 1000s just died, because u failed to protect them from the OP science player.
now imagine a fleet of science players in different vessels...well, its gonna be a rofl I pwn ur face fleet.
However, it seems to have done its job well. All the whiney QQ "I cant beat the evil Klinks in my pve setup" people will no go and fight each other. This is right and proper. Leave the real PvP (fvk) to the people who can be bothered to learn.
I tried playing FvK for a good part of Sunday morning, but coming up against the same 5 or 10 Klinks who used the same exact strategy, there was never a match that didn't basically start 0-5 and end up no better than 8-15. As an escort, getting shutdown and blown up without being able to retaliate at the beginning of every match got pretty old. Sadly, in FvF the match only started off poorly if teams were lopsided. It was much more enjoyable. I guess I will level up a Klink and see how that side is. I wish I had the time to find a decent group to make a premade with but its just not in the cards.
Had some great fun in two FvF matches. Then I tried a single Klingon match and we were faced with a Klingon team exploiting subnucleonic beam + viral matrix + FBP all day long.
Apparently the Klingons want us to do FvF instead...fine with me.:)
you know what they say, cant stand the heat get out the kitchen:rolleyes:
Heat is one thing. The entire opposing team decloaking and hitting everybody with SNB, effectively removing the keyboard from your hands, and then proceeding to beat on you for 30 seconds is not heat. It is cheap.
But on the upside, since they have about doubled or tripled damage speed since their attempt to slow down damage ( nice one by the way, Cryptic ) we don't have to wait 15 seconds to die any more.

Well done cryptic

This is exactly how I view it now too. It went from a potential menace to a godsend. Klingons rejoice, as the terrible fed players are all off indulging in failfit battles.

True but it just takes ages to get a game now:mad::mad:

Ah, more elitism. No way anybody who plays FvF could be a serious PvP player. But we all know that every Klingon player who does KvK is hard core, though.
Now that the Feds have got their way because of the QQ(FvF) life as a kling is slow, most times today I've been waiting a good 10mins before a game where as yesterday I could walk into a game as soon and I signed up.
Seriously... we had hour long queuesall day long, please stfu.
fvf pvp is a waste of time all you see is snb vm feedback tons of snb seen a few almost all science groups. The fvf did wreck wait times on the klingon side wich sucks for leveling usally like 10 to 20 klinks waiting to pvp.
I think it's funny the way the QQing about long waits has shifted. Sure, Feds had other ways to level but Klingons do now too. I suppose this is something like balance?
When it was the Feds QQing the Klingons suggested they get over it and PvE while they wait. So...
FvF pvp is like watching two "special" quadriplegics in a cage fight. The amount of fail that is generated by both sides can cause a rift in the space-time continuum resulting is a cascade of fail that causes the universe to implode.

Only 5.
Anyway, there's a lot of FvK insults in this thhread, but hows the actual FvF working out?
