The Sovereign and her variants are starting show their age a bit. So why not give the Sovereign class some love, have the Sovereign (Legendary) and the Regent class (T5) in a bundle with new stats. Sovereign (Legendary) with a 5X3 weapons loadout and the ability to use cannons. The Regent class with a wide angle transphasic torpedo launcher.

And yes, I know the OP is talking about internal changes instead of the models, but there really isn't that much wrong with oldschool ships (though the convenience nowadays of not having to buy the cstore version followed by buying the fleet version to get the whole ship like the old ones tended to require is nice). Instead, like with the models, it is mainly a fashion issue, in this case thinking how the classic fashion in builds could be tweaked and accessorized DPS wise with new consoles and systems-parts to make it work in today's build-fashion environment.
You'd be better off just asking for an all new Sovy Variant honestly.

Already exists, although I don't think it has the CURRENT Mirror skin. The T5 Mirror Star Cruiser.

If they simply T6 it though it would not be anything like the OP wants since the T5 Mirror Star Cruiser is identical to the Federation one under the hood, it just uses an Odyssey hull instead of the Emissary hull. Also, I am not sure I see the point in the 5/3 with DHC modification since a star cruiser is primarily an engineering ship with science next and tactical in last place according to the seating. Its single lieutenant tac seat would not even support DHCs effectively.

A legendary Sovereign already exists. These ships were supposed to be the best and come with everything from their respective family of ships. The idea was: you buy this one, you won't have to buy all the other ones separately to get a certain ship part or a trait or whatever.
It's bad enough that for some ships, like the Excelsior family, there are now new ships that result in still not having everything from that family if you own the legendary.
This isn't something we should be encouraging. Legendary variants of a ship should be the end point. The Sovereign family has a legendary, so that should be it.
As for a new one, just make a mirror regent. Don't have on of those that I can remember. I don't think it would be high priority as mentioned by others, there are several sovereign variants in game already, but it is still a nice idea

The Lamarr is not a Sovereign variant.
It shares the skeleton with the Sovereign class IIRC so can be kitbashed with them.
The Sovereign set is not unlocked. It is only recently (past 2-3 years) that they unlocked the ship console sets when they released the legendary version. Like how the Flagship set was not unlocked until the legendary Bortasqu' was released, not when the legendary Odyssey (Verity in the 10th anniversary bundle) was released.
I was hoping when the Lamarr was released they'd unlock it but the haven't as of right now (checked to make sure)
