I was playing Tenebris Torquent. It is dark during much of the mission. The light on the Discovery Rep EV suit is dark in the middle of the "beam" where it would be most useful. When it is first turned on, the light beam is good, but the center quickly goes dark.
I made an in game report and had email exchanges with Arc Games. The suggested I try other EV suits. Two other suits did not have the problem with the center of the light beam fading. Arc Games also suggested I make a report here.
I enclosed two images: one show the beam after the center had faded, and the other show the beam when it is first turned on.

Both the Klingon and Romulan veteran EV suits casting that triangular shadow.
The Starfleet veteran EV suit casts a shadow on the left hand side of the cone of light.
That's the big shadow cast from the DSC rep EV suit.
Lighting is a bit weird, and having a lightsource on or near your head can make anything that is directly ahead of you and close completely wash out, like staring into the Beacon of Kayless level of washed out though you can still see to the sides to some extent. People were complaining about not being able to see anything besides the glare not too long ago in fact.
They would have done much better to feather the edges of the cone and maybe make the cone a little less dark and obvious, but I am not sure the lighting system would support that.
