What are 'water' kit modules though? Does this include ice?
And earth, are those the earthquake modules? Air, the wind kit modules, even those that aren't from Risa but from reputations and lock boxes? I've got most of these modules so it'll be relatively easy to figure out, but I am curious for now.
The kit modules could have used a bit more diversity, they're all electric. Which is already an instant-killer in most scenario's, I'm not sure whether this type of build needed to be boosted even further.
It's a good thing they're career-specific though, that's definitely a positive thing. Too much stuff is universal nowadays and it diminishes the uniqueness of each career.

My guess would be that they are talking about Risan modules specifically since coding random ones would probably be a nightmare. The Risan modules suite has modules already that encompass fire, water, air, and earth, along with lightning and cold/ice (which itself could be considered air and water combined, through probably not for the purposes of the frame procs). One of the water ones is the Tsunami Generator, I remember it since I use it on one of my characters (it could use a buff, btw, but it is not as useless as some say).
Still waiting on specs for the ship since the event has been posted the ship should of been by now also.
The original was a decent ENG full carrier with Dyson mechanical space squid pets, and with the exception of the Rallus the devs have tried to remain true to the originals as much as possible so the specs will probably reflect that type of ship. I am curious to see what the specialization and trait will be, MW is an obvious choice for an ENG carrier, but others could fit just as well instead of or in addition to MW.
Big thumbs up this year, I was a little down on the Hypserian theme and offerings but these are mighty. All bases covered, new costume type (fingers crossed the wet suit can be kitbashed in the tight uniform category), fun kit module set playing to elemental abilities (a really fun avenue of ground builds I've found), rainbow murf, traditional offerings (see. new baseball team), and a great looking ship.
Kudos to the team, really looking forward to this.

Does the new obelisk come with the old version as an alt skin? As it would be nice to be able to fly it again from the old Dyson sphere mission version.

Nothing in the blog. Gonna have to wait till you have it and see in the ships tailor.
I hope they have the bridge from the mission like the T5s do.
If for some strange reason it doesn't, you can get the T5 version from a fleet store and use the Solanae bridge regardless. Remember that ship bridges have now been unlocked, and ships with fancy bridges unlock their bridge for the character. Bridge access is something we can fix ourselves at this point.

Event ships don't treat their T5 counterparts as separate unlocks you need to get (as they're unobtainable). I've only seen that with c-store. I would expect the T5 Obelisk skin to be included despite the T5 ship being included in the spire fleet holding (odd compromise found back in the day to provide wider unlock access unlocking event ships across an account was codified. See also the T5-Fleet version being a lobi ship. Obelisk was a weird point of experimentation, and I don't think Cryptic is going to keep enshrining that by playing silly buggers with T5 parts).

First impression of the new engineering kit module (Engineering Kit Module – Electrical Overcharge) is underwhelming to be honest.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
The Vovin is a Command/Miracle Worker carrier, it seems (Commander Command seat, Lt. Commander Miracle Worker seat); as such it will not have the cyclical quantum slipstream drive, but it has a really good weapon layout: 5/3...on a FULL CARRIER! That alone makes it a rather tasty ship to earn. Its console and trait are halfway decent as well.

5/3?? It says 3/3 in the blog.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
is it just me, or can we not buy Lohlunat Favors (except on the exchange) ? From memory last year we could buy them with Lobi or Phoenix store (can't remember which)
Unlike the previous wet suit this does not claim the Risa quarantine restriction; it does actually work in the rest of the universe? That would actually change it from a "meh, I dont care" to a "Cool, 'll get it" thing.
Are there plans to make the other wet suit work outside as well? Or any of the swimsuits? Lots of costume mix potential.
Currently a bit in a back & forth between STO and City of Heroes; despite its age it bewildering to see how more open Cryptic was with the costumes back then. I mean I do like my strict canon'esque uniform on most my chars; but it would be nice to get a bit more wild with some of the other costume slots.
Ooff, starting to ramble :P Anyway; good job. I like that direction

You're right. I thought it was a 5/3, but then again, that'd be actually pretty busted. Has there ever been any other full carrier with a 5/3 layout? I do know the Vaadwaur Juggernaut has a 5/3 layout, but not sure it's a full carrier. It's also one of only 3 ships that can field up to 8 tactical consoles (at T6-X2).
