I can beam down to andoria.
Is your character KDF aligned?
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
I just checked with my Fed aligned Romulan and was able to beam down. But you have to travel to far side of the moon from where you enter the map to get the beam down message.
the Interact nodes are sometimes rather oddly placed, that said Andoria could really use an update even if was just another map akin to what they did with Risa.

Honestly we need something to DO on Andoria as well. And yea... we probably need a new map. Probably one that isn't so big and empty. The only time Andoria gets any action is during the Omega event since Omega spawns there. Outside of that... why bother going to Andoria at all?

Yeah maybe settlement or something like that, maybe take some winter event stuff and adapt those, IIRC there was a purpose for Andoria originally but no one used it so it kind of just is there.

Actually I think there were plans to make Andoria an open ground PvP type area, as indicated when you venture out past the beam in area and are warned you can be challenged. It was just never implimented.
The hills are there, mechanics-wise it probably wouldn't be that much different from the surfing stuff on Risa.
Also, Andorians consider art important so maybe we could have an arena there for artistic snowdiving competitions, where players can create shapes in the snow - either solo or with a team. Best design wins, we just have to come up with a voting system.

True, something like powered snowboards could be done just by reskinning a surfboard, and powered skis would just be that and an animation change.
Would be nice if they put the QWW somewhere on that map… take away the rewards like the Risa Summer Map, but leave it for those to visit
I think the issue with that lore wise is that it isn't on a planet, its basically in a pocket dimension that Q made JUST for the Winter Event.
I could be wrong, but as I recall from an early dev blog about QWW is that it was supposed to be on Andoria. That may have changed since, but I do seem to recall that. I'll have to see if I can find that blog.

I'm basing my statement on the fact that we can only visit it by talking to Q, and we have those snow borg, gingerbread people, gummy fish, trees that look like they're native to Earth, Ice lake with liquid water underneath...
To me right now it makes more sense that it is a pocket dimension because of all the weird there. If I'm wrong I accept that. But until then that is my head canon.
It could be a bubble of altered reality on Andor, but it does seem weird since in the shows they generally do the pocket dimension thing like it was easier for them to do or whatever. The key to that might be Q's talk of altering the universal gravitational constant temporarily to alter an asteroid's course, maybe changes tend to leak out of something like a bubble.
It is possible that Andoria plays a role in some upcoming content (probably not summer event or QWW) and that beam in locations were switched around, It's a pretty old map after all.

I'd make the current one even more empty regarding NPCs and civilization markers but keep it for omega; it would be a good reflection of a vast empty ice dessert. But also add a new one; maybe an Andoria themed winter resort; or tweak the current winter map to be that and active all the time but with events only during christmas. Like the Risa summer event map.

Having used Andoria in the Foundry, Cryptic could get away with using old assets to simply build something of interest on andoria. It's a blank icy field, there's not much that needs changing about that. Just put something new on it (and I know from said Foundry experience there's stuff Cryptic can pull from in their asset catalog for a good looking but still quick and dirty ground map.)
