"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
I wonder if it's that pyramid-thing you see during Scorpion's Abyss? If so, we'll have yet another "flying mountain" to add to the list of gigantic ships.

I guess it has to be, unless we're going to see another type in tomorrow's episode. Unless I'm mistaken, no other Aetherian ships have been added to the game as of yet.
Personally I think they shouldn't have added this ship. Just like how they shouldn't have added Borg ships. Voth, Undine and Herald ships were already kind of crazy, but now they're going overboard.
At some point it's just going to be ridiculous how powerful the ships flown by Starfleet captains are. I mean, these ships are supposed to be even more advanced than the Borg ships. They're from a species that more or less rules their entire dimension. One of those ships is even tanking an entire Borg armada for the full duration of a mission.
If Starfleet has such powerful ships, why is an Odyssey still the flagship? The Houston failed miserably at taking damage from even a single cigar ship in Hive Space.
It's getting hard to reconcile what we see happening in official events in the game (Starfleet NPC's flying what's supposed to be one of SF's most powerful ships) vs what we can do ourselves (flying ships that are supposed to be much more powerful than that). They really should have said at some point: nah, letting players fly this is too silly.

I tend to agree. none of my alts fly anything but starfleet, KDF or RRW
Information on the ship is now available on the News page.
Its console is a source of proton damage.
The trait is probably going to annoy a lot of people and pretty much useless (not to say completely countereffective) in many circumstances, as it grants immunity to enemies (while holding them).

I think you're misinterpreting what the trait does.
The ship that is held does not become immune to everything. It becomes immune to the hold being reapplied immediately. That means you can't just lock down a target permanently.

That's not what I would conclude from the last sentence under the 'tooltip' header.
Your explanation makes sense and it's hopefully what will be done - but based on what's written, it can go either way.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

No.
This says a foe that is held by the ability would only be immune for a few seconds. Think this is to prevent abuse of the ability.

While perhaps it can be worded better... it makes no sense to have a trait that makes enemies invulnerable while held, especially if they're still able to shoot back. To me it reads as though we are locking down that ship, which does reduce its defense rating since it isn't moving and thus easier to hit, and it becomes immune to the hold for a duration after its applied so it doesn't get chain locked. Its a basic balance stipulation.

Possibly, but with 10 max charges I don't really see how it could be abused anyway. If you're surrounded and attacked by 10 Spheres, each of them is going to be held for a few seconds and your charges are gone.
Against single enemies or small groups it would probably be necessary to grant them some immunity. To the hold effect, that is.
There are those stealth phasers that, when combined with a full Intel ship's inbuilt stealth bonus, makes the player's ship unlikely to be targeted at long range, but I don't know of any that makes the target ship untargetable (that really sounds counterproductive).

They don't. As far as I know there are no weapons that make your target untargetable. There are a couple consoles that do the whole "banish" thing, but they have utility and have the typical console cooldown.

Even if you can't stunlock enemies using "Unity Hold", it'll still be a good crowd-control ability. Therefore, I think the Revelation will see some use especially in advanced and elite TFOs going forward. I wonder how it'd work if used with other big ships (like the Scimitar and Vonph).

Probably similar to the Guardian's trait. You can't choose when it goes off because its based on what the enemy NPCs do. In this case I'd say this ship's trait is probably a lot more usable than the Guardian's trait since it affects enemies and not yourself. And I feel like it might excell in target rich environments too. The more things shooting at you, the longer the battle, the more stacks you can build up and maintain.
Indeed. It's one of the reasons why Gravity Well shines in target-rich environments. The more enemy ships in an area, the more that get pulled into the gravity well, and then just dump torpedoes, beams and other AoEs onto them and watch your DPS go nuts.

Hehe yea. That's why I got one of my characters running a MegaWell build on a Crossfield Refit.
PSA: In the presence of a Gravity Well Murder Ball, please avoid entering the Gravity Well Murder Ball. The resulting Warp Core Breaches do not discriminate.

I miss my 'Eye of Sauron' Gravity Well build. Perhaps it's time to resurrect it.

Not to my knowledge no.
There might be a console that does, however it also deals damage to them for the duration.
The only weapons I know of are ground weapons
