Because the I-mod rifle was big hit, they added the new photon burst weapon.
Classified as a rifle. Limit to how many torpedoes it can hold(6 charges), uses an internal replicator to make new torpedo every 15 seconds.
Expectation is that you start the fight using this weapon, raining damage down on enemies, then switch to your normal weapon.
Does AOE damage/knockback. Deals physical damage. Enemies defeated by it are disintegrated. You can knock yourself back with this weapon, but not team members. If you have resistance to knockback you can resist it. Doesn't knockback 100% of the time. Can give weapon to BOFFs.
Secondary fire more is a homing mode. Launches to whichever foe is closest to you, not primary target.
One of the design goals of this weapon was to feel beefier then photon torpedo kit module since its a full weapon.
New ship is Kelvin Enterprise-A as seen in the credits of Beyond.
Normally Cryptic doesn't add a ship unless they've seen it do something they can build a power on, despite this ship only being seen at the end, they drew inspiration from Star Trek Beyond, giving it tech to prevent another swarm attack from destroying the ship.
New Console "Universal Proximity based anti-opposition emitter" +X% phaser damage, +X% flight speed and turn rate. AOE phaser damage based on speed. For 20 sec centered on self foes within 1km take X phaser damage X4 per sec. Small enemy targets are vaporized on contact(mines, torps, fighters, etc)
New trait "gravitational nexus" Maneuverability, exotic, and projectile buffs in area near anomalies. Creates a artificial gravitational nexus for 3 0sec, one per 45 sec max. Allies within 5km of the nexus gain +20% flight speed + turn rate, +20% bonus all damage with exotic damage abilities, +20% bonus all damage with projectile weaponry
Can be kitbashed with the other Kelvin Connies.
Has a cloak due to being an intel primary.
Cryptic made this variation of the Connie due to fan requests for it, and to fill a gap between the seasons of the TV shows introducing new ships.
Cryptic is working on a ship they are very excited for, but they had to delay it because it didn't appear in the shows when they thought it would.

New ship comes out Thursday
Ship can't use DHCs
Jessie will look into/ask about Kelvin omni-beams
Now that cross faction flying is a thing there is a little more demand for Klingon/Romulan/Dominion ships, though still not a lot 🙄 Though there are Klingon and Romulan ships coming in the upcoming Dyson bundle.
There is an interesting twist coming with the Dyson ships.
Kael showed off a Klingon and Romulan Dyson Ship.
Please note this will be the last reprint I do of Ten Forward Weekly as it wasn't necessarily meant to be a permanent thing.

Konnie-A! Yay!
It's another Intel-spec Konnie, like the Legendary refit. Bawww!
None of the spec stations is on a universal seating, so either TS3, GW1, RS2 or RRtW1 gets sacrificed. Bawww!
The console has just a 1km range. Bawww!
It can't equip DHC. Bawww!
It's a R&D promo pack ship. Bawww!
I may grab it for the look and the trait if I find it in the exchange, but it still feels quite underwhelming.
So, the new kelvin timeline intel cruiser has a cloaking ability because it has Intel primary. Why then does the Legendary kelvin timeline Intel battlecruiser not have a cloak ability? It also has a Intel primary and mechanic.

Because they somehow want to justify this ship being in a Promobox . This ship will be easy outperformed by the Hydra which btw can use cannons and is easy to obtain in the c-store lol. It might even get outperformed by Legendary Kelvin Connie... The pathetic attempt to make the ship somewhat interesting by putting a Science and Torp Trait with it...
...well as Husnak said we all can appreciate PromoShips which are easy skippable. This is one of them for me.
C-Store Inc. is still looking for active members on the fed side. If you don't have a fleet feel free to contact me in game @stegi.

Yeah...this one feels like the crossfield destroyer and others, designed to coast on their popularity rather than be a great ship worth the price
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power

I tend to gravitate towards destroyers and science spearheads like the original Crossfield since I like their flexibility and I tend to have a hybrid science-tac style anyway. I think the Crossfield spearhead is a great ship for instance. What I don't like is how most ships like that get walled away in gamble boxes.

You plan on going for one of the new T6 Dyson ships, then?

Yes, though it might take a while. I have several captains who use the T5 versions as their main ship and I have been one of the people who have asked for T6 version for years.

Honestly I hope the Fed one doesn't look so much like aliens saw an Intrepid and tried to make their own. Something about the T5 Fed ones just... felt odd. The Klingon and Romulan ones looked great.

Unless the stats are abysmal I'm jumping at the Romulan Dyson ship.

No. That was just how they chose to distribute it. Fans just wanted the ship. However since pretty much none of the Kelvin Timeline stuff is C-Store... it... kinda makes sense to make it more rare.
I'll probably gun for it for next year's Campaign.

Cryptic-designed ships go in the C-Store and TV/Film ships (aside from the lower tier C-Store ships that have been in since launch) go in promo/infinity-boxes. It's that simple. Why are people surprised?? Cryptic have been quite open explaining this before. There have been very few exceptions to this.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

I believe that another player provided a perfectly rational explanation for this. (Spoiler Alert for those who haven't reached this part.) During the Iconian War, before testing the temporal weapon, we see Seven in her Voyager incarnation. However, after the test proved disastrous and they were forced to try to revert the timeline back to its original state, we found that the timeline was MOSTLY restored but there are changes. Since then when we meet Seven, we meet her Picard incarnation. It stands to reason that one of those changes happened to Seven.

Well that would be the in universe explanation.
Out of universe from a development standpoint the dev statement is not wrong. When we saw Seven in Picard, the Devs chose not to alter the already existing incarnation of Seven in Delta Rising, but made a version of her from Picard so that we can interact with both versions.
The fact we meet Voyager Seven in Delta Rising, and Picard Seven post Butterfly just makes it in universe easier to explain the change. Honestly a very convenient setup for any changes from pre Butterfly events to post Butterfly events. It works out from a narrative standpoint from pretty much any angle you look at it from.

The author (TheSajuukKhar) does a great job
Ah whatever. Carry on. We all appreciate skipable promo ships.
We have the basic Heavy Command Cruiser (2009 Connie), the Legendary Intel Battlecruiser (Beyond Refit), and now we have the Ent-A.
Konnie-A: Every ship is on someone's wish list, even if it isn't mine. I'm happy for those who do want it.
I'm looking forward to the new Dysons as something different from most of the fleets, though I don't know yet whether I'll buy them.
Me too. The originals were cool ships in their time and quite popular. Revisiting them is something I'm looking forward to.
