I could use some advice from Sidney!

Are you talking about the Matt Smith Double Thumbs up with a bow tie?

From what I've noticed, the auto-pilot ignoring you and just deciding to go in a straight line happens when your current destination and location share the same 'height' along the Z-axis of sector space.

If you put your ship into a slight tilt up/down, then click your target on the map, the immediate change in Z-axis will allow the auto-pilot to work correctly.

this has worked brilliantly for me. whenever I have to go across the map, I put her into a steep climb for a few seconds then select the destination on the map. works like a charm. now if I could just get the betazoid helmsman from hitting every other star on the way

I find when ever I try to auto pilot on Quonos to either the Klingon fleet location or new Romulus the system just speeds up to half impulse and moves straight ahead it will not turn or maneuver my ship towards my intended destination I hop this helps.

This is the case for me as well.

    See my post above:

It doesn't excuse the devs from fixing it, but it does allow us to get it working in the meantime...

I have had problems from basically anywhere to Burgus (I am doing missions on my later characters severely out of order depending on what I want to do at that moment, so I had a couple starting points). Also in the Delta Quadrant, Deep Space Signal to Nassordin is broken.

I can confirm that both the "Slipstream via Tray" and "change Z-axis" workarounds work for me, so thanks for them!

That has always been a feature of autopilot. Any manual inputs after autopilot is engaged turns off autopilot. The thinking behind this is that the player wants control of the ship back. They decided that slipstream is a manual input and turns off autopilot, so you have to re-target your destination after slipstream is finished.

I have found that you can re-target your destination right after you set your SSD, but YMMV. 6xqo7bo5l07e.jpg

Nukara Prime to New Romulus, K7 to Nukara Prime, K7 to Drozana Station, Azure Nebula to New Romulus
  • Transwarping in and out of Qo'nos always results in a double transwarp for me and auto pilot to/from The Qo'nos system in sector results in it going in a strait line in the pointed direction at half warp.

I come from the future to say that the workaround I use is this:

Select Destination > Engage Autopilot > Engage Slipstream > Re-select destination > ENGAGE!

Then it usually stop where it should instead of sailing right by.

Was trying to travel from Qonos to New Romulus, yesterday (April 2nd., 2024) and the autopilot wouldn't do it (the ship continued to fly straight, towards Drozana approximately, at half-speed).

I clicked on one of the star systems near New Romulus, and then the autopilot accepted the input.
