Steam Version: Unable to authenticate: Lost connection to Account Server

in Windows and General: PC, Network, and Other Technical Issues
It has been a while since I played the game so when I tried to launch via Steam, it gave me the following error upon opening the game launcher:

Unable to authenticate: Lost connection to Account Server

I tried to also launch the game via the .exe in the files, only to get the same error in return.

    It is currently maintenance on all platforms.
