cross faction flying

gchewitt#2784 gchewitt Member Posts: 39 Arc User
The Wiki says that this can be had in two ways: purchase for 2000 zen, and by leveling a Klingon character up to 65. I don't have enough zen, so that's out. But I have had a Klingon character though I'm not sure if I kept him long enough to get to full level. How can I know? If I didn't level up, is there a way to get my Klingon back so I don't have to start form scratch? There is a Klingon faction ship I want to buy with my anniversary coupon. Thanks.

If you look at the Klingon ships in the cstore it may tell you if you have unlocked cross faction flying, but I don't know for sure since I had maxed characters from the three main factions well before cross faction flying was a thing. And despite the name, the requirement actually only requires ANY KDF character at max level, so Orions, Gorn, etc. work just as well.

I don't know if there is a way to recover a deleted character, but a good alternative in this case is a Klingon recruit if you don't have one already because the account-wide rewards are worth it (btw, if your deleted Klingon was a recruit and you unlocked everything in the recruitment you are good to go already since one of the recruitment goals is reaching max level). And chances are good that the KDF Recruitment event will be first again this year, which will probably start next month. And like the cross flying unlock requirements, the recruitment is open to any KDF, not just Klingons.

Customer Support might be able to help restoring a deleted character, but I can't be certain.

However, phoenixc has some sound advice there.
The Klingon Recruitment event would be an ideal time to make a new KDF character (any species, not just Klingon, as said) as the various rewards are a great boost to that particular character, and there's various rewards that are account-wide and reclaimable on other characters as well - including a T6 ship!

There's also the Delta Recruitment event where a KDF-character gets extra rewards along the way, many of which are also reclaimable on your other characters.

Am pretty sure that in order to restore a deleted character they'd have to roll back your account to a previous state. This can be bad. But you never know until you ask.

    Klingon Recruitment

Klingon Recruitment was available for a limited time on the following dates:

    PC:

    January 26th, 2021 - February 25th, 2021
    February 9th, 2022 - March 9th, 2022
    February 16th, 2023 - March 9th, 2023

If it were me, I'd roll a Klingon recruit this February and then save the Delta recruit for a Romulan later this spring. May I suggest a KDF tactical recruit in order to make both ground melee and space ambush defeat (kill) goals a bit easier? The Klingon playable species has a superior version of soldier as an innate trait that helps with ground combat and of course a tactical character has access to a whole bunch of damage buffs available as both captain abilities and kit modules that really help the defeat accolades add up fast! Of course if you're looking for a bit more flexibility in your recruit's appearance it can be hard to beat an Alien tactical character.

I took a chance and bought the ship. I must have leveled my Klingon character because I was able to equip the ship. All good.

I took a chance and bought the ship.

The store wouldn't have allowed the purchase of the ship unless you met the requirements. I guess this makes sense as it's much better than "I just bought a Zen Store ship but can't fly it as my driver's license is the wrong class".
