Will the Heavy Phaser Lance ever be unlocked?

Playing around with some of my ships, and I realized that apart from the https://sto.fandom.com/wiki/Console_-_Universal_-_Immolating_Phaser_Lance (that is character bound) there are no universal phaser lance consoles. There is one in the C-store that 'could' be unlocked (similar to the Akira consoles) so we could be allowed to have a phaser lance on any ship we choose. That console is of course https://sto.fandom.com/wiki/Console_-_Universal_-_Heavy_Phaser_Lance.

I imagine flying the whale that is the Jupiter on the fringes of battle broadsiding while my hanger pets cause havoc, then towards the end of the fight lining up my bow to deliver a devastating final blow to my target.

Chances are it will never happen unless they make a Legendary Intel ship (and no the L-vesta doesn't count) I meant from the OG intel ships.

Would anyone else like an account unlock phaser lance console? Would you like to see a Legendary Intel ship (or even a Legendary Temporal ship, sorry went off topic there)?

    Well you can get the immolating lance on the deimos with the mudds pilot bundle & get it with every character that way.

    The pack will be back. They always come back. Just save some zen and wait for the next sale.

    I would like it if they made it available to other ships.

    It's not like it would be game-breaking or anything if we could use the console on more ships than just that one old escort that has been surpassed in many ways, by many ships since its release...

    I'd go for it. I'm currently saving up for Deimos myself to grab an Immolating Phaser Lance to put on my Constitution III. Being able to use the Phantom's version would be even better.

    Funny you mention the Vesta, as it's Quantum whatsit console is actually a sustained Phaser lance basically, and after the release of the L-Vesta can be equipped on all ships now. It scales with EPG and Phaser, so it might be a good match for your Jupiter. If you've got a T5 token laying around, it can be a fun console to pick up.

    Also, somehow your second link is missing the colon after https somehow, despite being present in the link name, leading to a DNS error.

    The Phantom's phaser lance was usable on any ship once, briefly. I noticed it was unlocked... and then got re-locked shortly after. I still wonder why it was re-locked if Cryptic's been unlocking more ship gear.

    Cryptic's only been unlocking consoles attached to Legendary ships so far. And I think the Phantom Phaser Lance was also playing with the Intel mechanic as it instantly allows the Phantom to use one of its Intel abilities on whoever you slap with the Lance.

    They're usually underwhelming indeed. But they're fun weapons to use nevertheless.

    The Gal-X lance can be pretty devastating, if it actually hits--that accuracy penalty can be nasty, admittedly, though it doesn't seem to be as bad as it used to be.

    I like using a tractor beam before firing a lance. Especially if I'm having the Carrier wave shield hacking trait active, as it disables the shields.

    Phaser lances are bonus ship features, while nice to have them on everything it rather defeats their purpose. It's a way of making a ship more different from others (has phaser lance: yes/no), which at this late stage in the game's life is an increasingly difficult (if not futile) proposition. The pile of things to distinguish ships should ideally be larger, so making phaser lances more generic is somewhat counterproductive.

    If you want a phaser-lance style effect, go for any uni. console that deals direct foreword-facing damage. If the immolating phaser lance is beyond your price range, the beam from the Gagarin's console should do (and make sense for any ship as its a deflector pulse).
