Do you think we will get a new Odyssey based on the Enterprise from Picard? If so I would love to see a 5/3 int/mw version. I love the Lexington but it just falls short of the Inquiry for a beam overload build. Now I love the aesthetics of the Odyssey, the Inquiry, not so much. So I would like to see a promo Odyssey which unlike the Lex, is actually better than the Inquiry. Lose the lance and hanger but better stats would do. The Inquiry is getting very old for me but with the exception of the Vaadwaur Jug and D7 (also getting old) nothing can really compare with it at the mo for BO builds.

As far as I know there's only gonna be a updated model based on that (Cryptic was asked to send CBS the model for the Enterprise-F so they made the call to update before sending it).
I think that by now there are more than enough versions of the same ship, for many ships. What they should do instead, is creating tokens that players can buy so they can change some stats of their ships. Make them work like loadout slots, so that you can buy more if you wish to make additional changes to the same ship.
That's - imo - a much better idea than expecting players to buy the entire ship again every time Cryptic decides to come up with some tweaks to ships' stats.
As it would also allow the ship model designers to work more on creating new ship models. There are still existing ships without a T6 version, like the Hirogen ships, the Star Cruiser and the Patrol escort. And of course the team has proven that they can come up with great and unique designs themselves too.

Wow, that's a really interesting idea. A token that lets you change a speciality (seating or ship) or change seats or seat ranking. I would pay a billion EC or open promo lock boxes for that. It would work as well if you could only change a feature and not add an extra one. For example swap lt tac with a lt com eng so you end up with a lot eng and lot com tac. Likewise you could change a pilot spec BO to a MW BO but not add an extra one. Or chance a 4/4 to a 5/3 but not make a 5/4. They would make a fortune out of me if they did that.
Edit: People would still buy new ships, I usually get them for the looks anyway. Make the tokens as rare as promo ships.

I am pretty sure this idea was already nixxed. They would have to create every possible variant for every ship within the database, even if no-one ever used a variant. That is 3 to 5 extra variants for every single T5/6X ship just for changing a standard Boff position, then multiply that by the specialisations, so 15-25 variants (for T6's, T5U's don't have specialisations), then multiply by shifting a weapon slot forward or back, so 45-75 extra variants of each T6 ship.....thats 418 current T6X ships making it an average of approx 25 THOUSAND extra T6X ship entries, not including all the T5X! Would you like to be the person asking someone to do that! It's not as easy as saving a loadout because that's just tagged to a ship. To ensure this works correctly, the ship variants will have to be coded exactly like any other ship you can get.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
There is talk of a model revamp that may be coming. But we're not getting another variant far as I know.
I thought they said the model revamp was completed, but they were waiting to release said revamp until the actual PICARD S3 episode where the Odyssey actually appears? (So far we've only seen the ship in Trailers.)

Honestly I haven't heard if it IS done or not. All I know is there was talk of a model revamp since it would be in s3.
Yes, the model revamp is done, according to Thomas, and they are waiting to release it.

Yeah it was said in several Ten Forward streams Thomas was a part of that model is essentially done, they're just looking for the right time to release it.

I don't think they would need to go down that route. Keep base stats the same. Only allow transferring seating/specs to another or exchanging the ship speciality. That could be done with an algorithm surely? No need to modify each individual ship in the dB.

Sorry, no, they would have to create (and hardcode) each variant individually in the database, and most likely, test each variant to make sure it works. It's the same process as what they probably used to create T5U, T5X and T6X variants. Never mentioned anything about the stats of each ship. If they had this idea in mind on the creation of T6 ships, it wouldn't have been an issue, as they would have programmed them in as each new ship came out. Whilst an algorithm could be used to do the en masse programming, each ship is still going to have to be tested, but that algorithm would not be a simple one. The numbers get even higher than what I quoted when you add in which seat is lost.

This is getting a bit off track. Let's please return to the topic of this thread. Thank you.

How about Klingons finally get the T6 version of their legendary flagship before we worry about a 6th version of that ship?
If you're referring to the Bortasqu', there are T6 versions already, the Kahless, Gorkon, and Martok classes. We just don't have an actual Legendary Variant of that one. Or a Negh'var. We do have the Negh'Tev T6 though.

I mean legendary, upgraded to a dreadnought cruiser since the Oddy and Scim are both dreads now
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power
Odyssey is my main ship I use I really like it. Be nice if a re-vamp for better Stats.
The stats ain't changing. It's just a visual revamp.
