Cardassian stuff

strong1975strong1975 Member Posts: 3 Arc User
I was wondering if we could get more Cardassian stuff. More costume unlocks, more weapons... What I would really like to see, is a way to unlock Cardassian Rank Titles. My Cardassian should be able to have the "Gul" title. That would be fun.

Reading through the ingame lore, Cardassia's military was disbanded when it joined the Federation.
Some Cardassians have aligned themselves with the Klingon Empire, some joined the True Way, and others felt their path lay with Starfleet. Given that the True Way Cardassians are not playable, you're unlikely to get Cardassian ranks.

    Yes yes yes...
I'd like to get some Cardassisan Weapons it can't be to hard to do as there already used by Cardassisan Foes.

I have the Cardassisan Intel Bundle and they are a lot of fun even though the Intel abilities are really hard to use in PlayStation

Personally I like the Interrogator title for my Cardassian, in the Cardassian military, Interrogators are same rank as Gul but are more Science oriented.

Also would like a Cardassian Badge, maybe throw in Gul Macet's uniform and moustache, since Gul Macet was the only Cardie with facial hair.

You think it wouldn't be to hard...but all they want to do is just add more Starfleet stuff

Starfleet are the Main Characters, even in the shows, why not have a Star Trek show where everything is seen from a Romulan POV?

Wish they picked Cardassians over Jem'hadar for a mini-faction, it could've been a Special Ops force.

Or have them part of the Dominion, like the Breen, Vorta and the True Way Cardassians.

True Way Cardassians would never join the Khitomer Alliance though.

The thing is, they really didn't want to make a new faction at all but were pretty much forced to if they wanted to jump on the endgame-starting character fad bandwagon since they could not have android player characters and the only other even halfway believable option for that was the Jem'Hadar since they are for all practical purposes bio-constructs with preprogrammed skills.

So instead of a realistic Dominion demifaction (similar to how they did the Romulans) they only bothered to make the sketchiest framework possible and totally ignored the fact that as clones who have their predecessors' memories the Vorta would also work for endgame-starting characters as well.

Unfortunately, of the others neither the Cardassian Union (who are technically a Federation protectorate), the Breen, nor the Cardassian collaborators who presumably fled to the Dominion would work for that fad (as it turned out), and even other Dominion races like Dosi, etc., and even the Founders themselves would fail the believability test. So, we are stuck with just the horneytoads or nothing (which is why I sit out the Gamma Recruit event and play ESO more during that time instead).

It would be nice to get some new Cardassian ships, gear, etc. though.

The True Way are a terrorist group, not the Cardassian government, so that goes without saying. They apparently just use old Cardassian equipment so it wouldn't matter anyway. Most of the missions they are in are gone now too, maybe the devs are downplaying them for some reason.

Made topics requesting cardassian weapons so this one gets a thumb up from me.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Also back then the Devs argument against playable Vorta because of their poor eye sight never made sense when they have Weyoun the Combat Vorta over here shooting up Hurq with Pinpoint Accuracy in their own game.

True, plus they have the Aenar, who are completely blind, as combat-worthy Boffs.

The Vorta's primary sense is hearing, not vision (that is what those incredibly complex ears are for) and if you watch DS9 carefully it shows that in a subtle way from time to time. It is no different from the way that the Aenar use psi senses (and to some extent hearing) as their targeting sense, yet the devs still seem to think Vorta are useless in combat despite all sorts of canon examples to the contrary (and that they are instead the dominion officer corps) in DS9.

Also, Jeffrey Combs himself has said that you cannot trust anything that Weyoun says because he is a disinformation specialist who's job was to mislead the Federation and its allies about the true nature of the Dominion, its capabilities, and other strategic information in preparation for the Dominion invasion. He often mentions in interviews that they let him make up all kinds of things off the top of his head during filming because since it is disinformation it could not disrupt any plotlines they decided to do.

You literally have to watch what Weyoun does and not listen to what he says (he did a fantastic job with separating body language from the disinformation he was giving out, a depth of subtle performance that has not been seen in Trek since).

speaking of cardassian stuff, the new hairstyle and many others are not available in the tailor.

It's possible they could do a story arc of a Cardassian crew during the dominion war running into a temporal anomaly and ending up in the future. That could be a starting area for Cardassians, similar to what they did with TOS characters. Some sort of time jump. Then we could have Cardassians with proper rank titles, uniforms, weapons and facial hair!
