Teasers for the 13th anniv bundle will come out later this month
Nothing special for the DS9 30th anniv
No ETA on DSC Andorians, its something people are working on in their spare time
<content removed to respect terms of service agreement>
Unlikely they would make new factions, makes more sense to make content for everyone than make new faction/tutorial
Doing Twitch Prime loot drops is up to the company(publisher). Kael believes that there was a test on that for Neverwinter at one point, but for whatever reason there wasn't a continuation. Kael will ask the partnership person since shes back from maternity leave on if twitch Prime drops are doable
Kael believes there has been positive progress on the Nickelodeon/Prodigy front
<content removed to respect terms of service agreement>
Unlikely they would do more adventure zones like New Romulus, makes more sense to spend resources on story missions
Someone asked why Cryptic doesn't just hire more devs. Kael says that while STO is making good money it isn't profitable enough to just hire a bunch more devs. There's no secret bank of cash for them to hire more people. Though Kael does say STO is doing well to the point he thinks it will go on many more years
Someone else asked why not just let people work on the game for free. Kael says because its a full time job, and no one is going to make you work a full time job for free", its also probably illegal.
Cryptic Studios did consider a internship program in the past, but decided against it because thats not how the company works. And unpaid internships are bad, and they didn't want to support that.
There is a story blog coming on Thursday involving Section 31(someone asked about Section 31 content)
New Fed bridges on the horizon. The two new Fed bridges that came out last year will make it into player hands. Though that may be a far horizon
Andre Emerson poised the question to the fanbase on if they would accept a season update just bringing back the old removed Klingon War missions. The answer was an overwhelmingly yes. Though that decision isn't entirely Andre's to make, its Andre, Al, and the story team, who're excited to tell new stories also. So Kael isn't sure if thats on the horizon
There was never any plans for another Fed time period start. They based what they did on the shows. The TOS start was for TOS's 50th anniv/AoY. DSC was done because it was the new show, and they wanted the people that show would bring in to have a start the show they knew. Never anything for like a "beginning of the Federation" story line/start planned, though Kael thinks that would be an interesting story to explore one day
We might get a 32c story line one day, but for right now they're planning to stay in their own time period
Unlikely for GPL to get anything to make it useful any time soon. Though conversations have been had.
Kael believes the Constitution III from Picard is in the pipeline
Unlikely there would ever be an update that completly redoes STO. If Cryptic did another Trek project it would be something new, not a remake of STO
Someone asked if 1.5 year long stories like the Terran arc will be the norm, or if 3 year stories like J'ula are still possible. Kael says it depends on the kind of story they want to tell. Kael himself is an advocate for sometimes doing shorter story lines
Kael isn't sure how the new OGL(D&D related) will affect Cryptic, though Cryptic has their own separate license/agreements with Wizards
Cryptic is "so close" to getting squadron player ships working. Kael occasionally bugs Thomas, who bugs the programmers, about working on it.
Cryptic is working on loadout bugs
Cryptic hasn't rerun shuttle events because they weren't super popular. If they ever redo small craft they might do them again.
New clothing/outfits is something Cryptic is always working on, but don't expect a huge rush of new clothing items because they've got two character artists.
No plans for a Borg arc revamp right now
Cryptic plans to make T6 versions of the T5 lockbox ships that haven't gotten one eventually
Kael will look into if in a future stream they can do a stat stream detailing the most/least popular race, ships, items, etc
Someone asked about mission reward sets, and how theres not much reason to repeat missions nowadays without them. According to Kael, they stopped doing mission reward sets because they found that, even with them, people weren't repeating missions to get all the rewards anyways. This is why they switched to more frequent TFO events/rewards.
Someone asked if there will ever be a "Year of Romulan". Kael mentions the "Year of Klingon" was a marketing term he came up with since they were doing a lot of Klingon content/remasters and Klingon focused storyline. Cryptic has already done everything they would do for a Year of Romulan the year before when they updated those missions a bit/added new cutscenes and such.
Its safe to assume there will be a new event campaign this year. They've been wildly popular so far.
Player selectable warp out/beam out effects is a big technical hurdle, though Cryptic has discussed it internally
Good. The Terrans were getting tiresome the moment they were introduced. Always bragging when they're either already dead - or, when the game prevents their death, running away from the fight or returning to it.
Kael isn't sure how the new OGL(D&D related) will affect Cryptic, though Cryptic has their own separate license/agreements with Wizards
It might effect Neverwinter seeing as it is based on D&D 4th edition aka the Edition with the worst origin for Tieflings, personally I prefer the cambion route myself over the whole stupid pact bs, a majority of my TTRPG groups seem to be against WotC shooting themselvesin the foot with this OGL bs, according to the OGL, WotC will steal any idea or homebrewed content you make without giving you Credit or any Recognition and if you do make a profit off it, then you're doubly screwed because you're expected to pay a certain sum of money which most people can't even afford to pay up.
Unlikely they would do more adventure zones like New Romulus, makes more sense to spend resources on story missions
I'm disappointed by this. A couple of days ago I began to notice how most newer episodes are either copies of TFO's or vice-versa and how there haven't really been any additions in terms of new social zones, battlezones or adventure zones.
I like episodes - but I also like STO's world being expanded with new places to go. New Khitomer for example was a very nice map that should have been turned into a zone we can visit easily whenever we want. Not adding some sort of base in the Gamma Quadrant was also a missed opportunity to impress us with stunning new environments.
Cryptic Studios did consider a internship program in the past, but decided against it because thats not how the company works. And unpaid internships are bad, and they didn't want to support that.
I fully agree.
New Fed bridges on the horizon. The two new Fed bridges that came out last year will make it into player hands. Though that may be a far horizon
While this is nice for those who want them, I also hope we'll see more bridges being usable on more ships. There's not much point in having more bridge options if players can't use them on many ships because there's only one, very basic option available in the ship tailor.
Making things that already exist more broadly available should as much be a priority as adding new things, imo.
[*] Kael believes there has been positive progress on the Nickelodeon/Prodigy front
Dr. Greg Gbur, an acquaintance of mine on Twitter under the name drskyskull, had tweeted his enthusiastic hope that Season 2 of Prodigy would be coming out soon. The official account responded that they're working as fast as they can.
With a Season 2 on the way, and
the Season 1 finale confirming the creation of a Protostar-class of long-range light cruisers
, it seems likely to me that Nickelodeon could be persuaded to include content from Prodigy as a cross-promotional sort of thing.

But we also have to consider she was one of the FIRST T6 ships released in game so... she's not going to reflect current T6 standards as well as, say... the Andromeda or the more recent T6 Olympic.
Honestly I wouldn't mind a revamp to her too that includes the Prodigy variant as a customization option.

I misphrased my previous comment.
I meant to say that it's the only T6 ship without an universal seating. It's quite an inflexible ship because of that.
If the guys at Cryptic don't have any ideas for the DS9 30th anniversary, The return of Sisko would be something special at least, maybe as a Boff or as a Cameo?

In my experience Humans, Vulcans, Trill, Andorians, Klingons, Gorn, Orions and Romulans are some of the most popular, while I'll argue Talaxians are one of the least popular, I've seen more Lukari and DSC Klingon toons than Talaxians, I've also rarely come across Pakleds, Ferengi, Cardies, Fed Klingons, Letheans,Tellarites, Bolians,
It's safe to assume that any species/race, I didn't mention is in the middle ground, I only mentioned Lukari and DSC Klingons in order to get the point across on how rare Talaxians are, pretty sure both DSC Klingons and Lukari are safely in the middle area.

Well... there is one minor flaw in trying to talk about how popular Talaxians are. They're only available to LTS players, like Liberated Borg. So there's already going to be a big disparity between Talaxians and, lets just use Trill here as the example. A Lifer species option vs a species option available by default. It would be more fair to compare species that are more widely available.

Likewise, faction-specific species like Romulans cannot be compared well to species of factions that have many more options.
And the low number of Cardassians may also have to do with a share of their fans likely having created an alien-Cardassian long before the species were added.
It also wouldn't surprise me if aliens were indeed the most popular 'species' of all. Maybe only second to humans.
And those aliens come in a wide variety. I've got a few 'Voth' ones myself, Xindi, a Caeliar-Efrosian, a Denobulan... All because they're not added yet. But I've also seen quite a few Andorian-looking aliens.

It would be the perfect time to bring out the Yeager and/or the April Fool's joke version of it, both have been asked for quite a bit.
It would also be a great time to add Vorta to the Dominion character options to solve the race locked/sex locked situation they have in regard to anything from the Dominion side of DS9. That or just add "Alien" to the character generator for that faction, though that would likely require changing the tutorial since most of the Gamma races are not clones with at least some of their past lives skills and experience still intact (Vorta) or pre-programmed expendable bioconstructs (Jem'Hadar) both of which are more believable for the endgame-starting schtick than Dosi or the others.
"Great" to know that after the Emperor seized most control of the Other and ended the last episode with a "Time to shatter the mirror", we're gonna beat his rump in just one episode and make him look even less of a credible threat.

The anniversary contains TWO episodes though.

Now this is very interesting... Does that mean that the other factions might be able to make use of the 'Wingman' mechanic that the Jem'Hadar have?
Cause I imagine such a feature becoming very popular, given how many carriers one can see being flown in the game.
With a Season 2 on the way, and
It's the only T6 ship without any specialisation seatings. Almost like they forgot to add them.
Actually... she has a lt. Sci/Intel.

No, I was wrong. It has an intel slot indeed.
I misremembered. It doesn't have any universal seatings.

“Eye of the Storm.”
But likely one of the episodes will just be the two patrols put together.
