I only have experience with the Valkyries myself. The biggest draw for me was the Torp Spread capability. Only one other hanger pet I can think of has Torp Spread, and that's the Xindi-Primate Heavy Fighters, but those are bound to Xindi ships only.
And I can tell you in my personal experience... the Valkyries are awesome, especially at Elite with Torp Spread III x12 on a 2 hanger Carrier. They're also the first hanger pet that is cannon based that I actually use. Always felt that cannon pets never spent enough time using anything other than turrets so I avoided them. But the Valkyries are frickin' awesome.
I also have Superior Area Denial so being able to give them Scatter Volley whenever I use FAW on my carriers is pretty sweet. If you got a massed group of enemies, SAD + Torp Spread = devastation.
But like any hanger pet they will get absolutely wrecked by anyone with Point Defense (glares at Fed/Terran Escorts) and also kinda don't fare well against Aceton Assimilators or Tractor Repulsors.
I would pair them with the Wing Commander trait for faster level gain.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

Support Runabouts are near useless effectively broken with how terrible they are, they need a serious look at by the devs.
Valkyrie Fighters are very mid-range, very average pets though they are a lot of fun to use even if they do not perform the best. While not that effective the torpedo Spread spam does look really nice, in this case I am using spam as a positive word. There is just something visually nice about the none stop high volume of torpedoes.
I pretty much had most of those until the alliance carrier dropped. That hanger pet is all I run with on any carrier in possession or any ships with hanger pets. Alliance carrier has 2 fighter slots and it gives you 30 fighters. A true carrier IMHO and one of the best alliance ships I've ever own.

Support runabouts do need some kind of buff, they try to do both healing and DPS and seem rather lackluster (at best) at both. On the other hand, if you have a build synergy that gets buffed by being healed, they can be nice since they do seem to spam those low-powered heals a lot so it keeps the synergies triggered as much as possible without having to mess with it manually.
Valkyries are somewhat situational, which is true of most fighters anyway. Depending on your build and which enemy you are facing Valks can be very good, other setups/situations not so much. Overall, they seem good even though they are not over the top powerful, which is not really surprising since the recent flap where people were accusing Cryptic of deliberately overpowering new things only to nerf them into the ground after a bunch were sold.
