REQUEST FOR THE SHIP ART TEAM

I know that presently the art team is steadily going through and revamping and Remastering the old launch era leveling ships and I'm looking forward to it. I know a lot of people are looking forward to the Star Cruisers especially. I have a special request when you get to the Assault Cruisers.

I know a lot of people didn't like it, but one of the reasons I started playing this game as odd as it might sound is that I loved the old NX_91001 prototype, that eventually became the Noble class, specifically the one with the Inter-Nacelle Pod. As far as I'm concerned that's the canonical version of my main's flagship. I've bought every Assault Cruiser except the Command Sovereign but aside from the Nemesis variant of the Sovereign that came in the Legendary Bundle, this is the only visual I'm missing.

So I know it's extra work, but when you guys update the Noble class model, could you please maybe do a Noble-Alpha nacelle variant with the pod between the nacelles? I always thought of it as a combination sensor suite, Slipstream assist, and torpedo pod, but I don't actually care if you hook up weapons or anything to it. You can adjust it so that it sits completely above the saucer (I always thought it'd be like the Akira's pod) but if there's time do you think you could slip that in there please?

    I can't speak for the ship team, but considering that we're slowly getting revamps to old launch era ship models by tier (next up is probably T2 science or escort) its possible when they reach T5 Cruisers that they might look back at some things for addition as well.

    Considering that the concept art belongs to Cryptic already, and they have adapted a few of the old Perpetual concepts...

    My guess at what the pod between the nacelles is would be that it is an advanced equivalent of the Symetrical Warp Field Governer that the NX-01 had. It could be that Starfleet was trying to really push the envelope with the NX_91001 before the bioneural system was developed and needed the extra stability and control it provides, or something along those lines.

    That's partly what I head-canoned it as. She's got an advanced sensor suite, torpedo launchers fore and aft, slipstream drive components, and warp field and deflector shield functionality. Also phaser strips on the pylons.

    The NX-91001 was a testbed for a whole bunch of technology it has a page on Memory Beta.
