Shore leave has never been quite as relaxing as it will be during Star Trek Online’s 2022 Lohlunat Festival, starting soon on a Risa beach near you! This year’s Grand Prize for participating in the Event will be an entirely unique starship, of a sort never seen before – the Cnidarian Defender [T6]!
It should be an interesting free ship The depiction of a pink bubble on the linked page looks very similar to the visual of a certain ground set.
Yes, I was thinking it would fit with a Lukari captain but I'm not in a hurry to create one. One of my existing alien captains might go through some facial reconstruction to play with it.
I like it, and it'll fit my Lukari Captain & crew perfectly!

"No. Men do not roar. Women roar. Then they hurl heavy objects... and claw at you." -Worf, son of Mogh
"A filthy, mangy beast, but in its bony breast beat the heart of a warrior" - "faithful" (...) "but ever-ready to follow the call of the wild." - Martok, about a Targ
"That pig smelled horrid. A sweet-sour, extremely pungent odor. I showered and showered, and it took me a week to get rid of it!" - Robert Justman, appreciating Emmy-Lou
Yeah, that's a hard pass. What a last-minute lazy design.
Which part are you referring to as the ship looked like that since the late 1980s as it's reproduction of a ship from the TNG pilot not a Cryptic original.
A forgettable ship... a console tied to the event ship (which is fine should universal fewer consoles anyway)... trait is garbage squared.
Perfect... I'll unlock it cause why not free card. This one will NOT make them any money when it hits mudds down the road. I'm ok with that. Sucks when they add must have traits/consoles to event stuff. I find the time to grab them or blow some lobi if I don't feel like it. The raking of newer players that missed events though is always gross. So Kudos Cryptic more forgettable event stuffs please.

Making fewer consoles universal certainly wouldn't hurt the game.
But then I'm thinking of restricting them to an eng, tac or sci slot especially. Not restricting the use of a console to one ship.
Huzzah!! Just what the game needs! Yet another console/ability to spam even more bright pink VFX vomit onto the screen!
Yeah, it's too bad they keep thinking that (almost) every new thing must look more impressive. We badly need an option to reduce spam, even if it's just a simple on/off switch for ALL visuals coming from (other) players.
I just hope there is an option for social zones and sector space to turn into the jellyfish without needing the console, like when you fly into fleet K-13 zones. Imagine going to ESD and seeing ten Cnidarian's just floating around! Love the ship idea and hope you can float around in fish form!
I have a few ideas for characters which work best if the character has a bioship, and the cnidarian defender looks like it will be great for that (though most of those ideas were based around Undine ships, a few were for Tinman-like ships which is quite similar to the announcement blurb for the cnidarian one).
Besides the bubblegum bubble the sad part is not being able to pew pew pew and zoom! in squid form.
When you squidify you're almost frozen in place with no full impulse and no weapons, only the saucer mode gets to go places and do things
With a retaliation build (tanking build based upon reflecting damage) no weapons can be beneficial since power can be shifted to aux
Such a tanking build would be less straight forward than e.g. a BFAW build, but the potential for high damage is there.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Comments
The saucer ship itself might be fun paired with an alien gen captain.
The console toggle sounds like it will be interesting to play with, even if it isn't practical.
The trait might be useful to make something more tanky (good for an escort / raider?)
Or a tank/healer. I fly one of those just for fun.

Can only equip it on this ship... which I don't see very many people running a week after the event ends.

But just think if the tentacles moved and the tips were the emitter points for your beams. Sigh, if only.....
