It being the fourth time in two years assumes that they actually fixed it the previous 3 times. In actuality many still were having the issue, despite their being a "fix" for it.

fourth time for *what*? All I'm seeing are fixes for new/limited time missions, one oopsie in T6 ship choice packs (likely an accidental oversight), one issue with teaming on a mission, and an update to rarity colors with phoenix prizes. All of which seem to be recent things.
There is a known issue that is causing loadouts to be overwritten when changing maps.
There is a known issue that is causing traits to un-slot when changing maps.
I'm curious to know since when these became "known issues", considering they've been around and pointed out for years.

Before the issue was mainly, not updating your own loadout. Now it is actively reverting to some earlier layout. (don't ask me why their data base is storing data that should long be deleted... I guess it was fun seeing how I had my ships setup a year or two ago)
I guess I'm just doing a daily and loggin till they figure it out... game is unplayable. All my ships have loadouts... and almost all my toons are at the max number of ships which means I swap with dry dock a lot.
Cryptic perhaps its time to admit loadouts don't work, and just remove the system. It was nice in theory but it has never worked properly. Even when it did... swapping ships almost always meant an inventory full of gear. Always fun swapping ships and having to beam down somewhere for a bank and figuring out bag overflows.
they forgot to say that on top of loadouts overwritten, they (loadouts) not load properly and half of items are unequipped from ships and not go back when you try load loadout, so you need to put them there manually. also some trey powers appear to look blacked and remain so till you click them a few times.
p.s. "devs" and owners should consider to rename this tribble show to ST 76.
p.p.s. small personal request to devs. can you please stop yr "development" and go to vacation for few months so i can finally buy life sub.
because every time i convince myself to get sub, you roll out some trash bugged-untested update that make game almost unplayable for weeks.

And don't forget about how sometimes (for me, it's about a 50/50 chance), even when you have the "transfer gear on newly equipped ship" setting on and got rid of the basic gear beforehand, with free inventory slots, the transfer simply refuses to work.
You see the gear is about to be equipped, appearing greyed out, and then, POOF!, blank slots again, gear's back to the previously-equipped ship, even if said ship is the same category of the previous one (like escort to escort).
I have been tring to get into the game for 2 days now and still cant and cnat get a anwser to when i might be able to, Everytime i try logging in all i get is "Unable to start game client: client quit unexpectedly" The worse thing is i just spent money on zen fpr this new stuff and now i feel like i just threw money away.

Might be worth trying a clean new install. Ok I agree thats the current issue should be fixed, but sometimes a clean reinstall does solve a lot of issues.
I'm curious how loadouts solve anything, tbh? I've never had issues with needing to change gear on my ships that often. If anything I need to switch from all beams to beam/projectile which is, honestly, only 2 slots of my inventory, which I never fill up that much to begin with.
I can see the issue of inventories filled up...until you look at how relatively easy it is to do a full sell of the items. Even on the exchange (which I admit is a bit of a pain to list on) it's not *that* hard. Also, the SS Azura comm beacon thingy allows access to bank, mail, and exchange in sector space, no beaming down anywhere required.
I'm not trying to be rude to anyone with this, but I'm honestly not seeing how you would:
1. Have so much of an issue with your inventory filling up you can sell unneeded things wither via the Azura/exchange or the replicator's recycle option. 2. Have to completely change all of your ship's gear *that* often that you even need loadouts.

you can also try seeing if there are two instances running at the same time. some people reported this as an issue some time back, causing similar notices. maybe not to the extreme you and others are, but close. you can also do what eazzie advised.

Could someone explain it to me?
Hundreds of £££ spent on 23+ ships + each one individually set up differently (Phasers, Antiproton, Plasma, Disruptor, Torpedo builds, Science Builds, Cannon builds, Fleet modules boosting each type, etc., etc) + every module installed at Epic level costing £££ for zen to get dilithium and upgrades, lobi modules! - Seriously?!?, Maybe you just don't see it from someone's point of view who spends money to support.

I wouldn't dare to consider how much I've spent on stuff for the game over the years, but having spent that money doesn't entitle me to any special treatment for a Free-To-Play game.
Saying that, I do expect better than we got from the last two patches, and clearly the devs did too - I don't think for a minute they'd have deployed this weeks' patches if they'd known they were going to cause this big a problem.
All we, the players, can do is to exercise our patience and let them have some time to trace the problems and fix them. Sure, that's frustrating as hell, but I'll bet it's also frustrating for them too.

Ok? Still not seeing the point in this? I mean, I get the P2W players will have their thing, that's all well and good for any game with a paid aspect.
What I'm still not understanding is how this relates to loadouts. I've been able to keep every single ship I've earned/unlocked/etc with the gear they had when I prepped a different ship. I've never bothered with loadouts. And yes, recently I've opted to build more to one build over another, but that's only with the recent delta release and the fact that I'm wanting a new experience this go around.
I can see loadouts to get the gear back on the ship fast, but can I ask a different question, and this might just be my "ignorance" or whatever you want to call it, if it's that much of a hassle, and banking the items apparently isn't an option, why are you switching ships that much? Are you that indecisive? Can you not manage to get one build?

For example pilot and escort ships - I have loadouts for swapping between dual beam weapons and cannons, Science ships loadouts swapping between beam and torpedo builds.
It's not about being 'indecisive' it's about enjoying various ships in the game and their differences, sometimes it's nice to fly a fast, agile pilot or escort as opposed to a lumbering, slow dreadnaught, sometimes I like science, sometimes I like carriers. Some ship parts / modules / traits you get by getting other ships, some of us like to have those to use. I recently bought the "10th anniversary bundle" - This comes with 10 ships, should I only use one of them with one build? - If you're happy to 'manage with one build' good for you as someone else told you not everyone is the same.
Incidentally my bank is full, my inventory contains various ground weapons, stuff for repairs, reputation rewards, lock boxes, etc., and space for collecting modules from various missions to recycle. There is no way I'm going to recycle modules I've spent a lot of time and effort upgrading, what would be the point of upgrading them just to recycle them.

I don't expect any 'special treatment' but I do expect the game to work, also the reason it's free-to-play and still being developed is because people like us pay to support said development. Not being able to use one of the many ships I paid for because all my loadouts and stations / traits etc., will vanish into the ether makes it pretty much unplayable and not fun in the slightest. As for allowing time, many bugs have been present for a long time, then there is this thing called testing, which seems to be non existant on patch release, except for the paid item additions.

Edit: Game is unplayable, today's patch worsen situation. That was very short "lifetime" subscription, because this game is DEAD.
