I have crafted Wide-Arc Phasers, Plasmas, perhaps even Polaron on several toons that all can. I though these were supported to be changeable / reengineered?
Maybe MOVE this to BUGs please. I've confirmed all crafted (R&D) Wide Arc Phaser, Plasma, Polaron can be reengineered; all except Disruptors. I'd check Antiproton, or Tetryon only I don't have any, and crafting something I'm not going to use isn't my thing.
Yea I just noticed my Phasers say Wide Arc not Wide-Arc, so I'm surprised my Klingons have these...
Seems now I may have thought they were wide-arc, I checked again all 4 and they are definately wide arc disruptor cannons. Yet they are the only ones that can't be reengineered!
And they very much appear to be the item described on the WIKI that is able to be reengineered. Yet why no reengineering on just my Wide Arc Disruptors, despite my Phaser, Plasma and Polaron can be?
Hence my confusion, thought low blood sugar moment.
Just checked my own wide arc Phaser, Polaron, and Disruptor dual heavy cannons and they're all re-engineerable.
I'm sure I had reengineered all these in the past, and it's not blocked by protecting them either. I just can't reengineer them, and I don't want to throw them out. The ONLY thing that stands out is mine don't have the [Arc] mod yet I'm sure they should have it, because you can't get wide arc dual heavy without it.
Crafting a whole new set of 4 seems silly, cause my current ones are already fully upgraded; just can't reengineer them yet they still fire 90 degree arc's.
Perhaps I should just KEEP them, they still have the same # of Mod's just can't change any of them.
moved this to the pc bug reports area since this is a bit weird
"Someone once told me that time was a predator that stalked us all our lives. I rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey and reminds us to cherish every moment, because it will never come again." - Jean Luc Picard in Star Trek Generations
I turned that OFF it makes no difference, and I can reengineer my Phasers, Plasma and Polaron with Protection on. It just prevents Salvaging or selling them for EC, which you don't want to happen when in inventory.
Talked with some folks and after seeing that shot of your cannons I think I see the problem. Your disruptor cannons are missing the [arc] modifier where as the phasers have the [arc] modifier. There was a bug years ago that would in some instances allow the cannons to be crafted without the [arc] modifier. To my knowledge when the fix was implemented I don't think there was a way for them to retroactively apply the arc mod. To test this I want to try something.
Craft yourself another set of wide arc disruptor cannons and note the mods it gives you. When it's done crafting try to re-roll it and see what it does. If it lets you roll it then we'll know it's most likely you having an older set of cannons. If it doesn't then i'll let the team know what's up and they can look under the hood if they think they need to. the more sets of cannons you can try for a better sample size the better. I tried crafting 2 sets of them myself and had no issues which is why i'm wondering if it's you having an old set of cannons or something up with your guy. Let me know what happens and i'll inform the team accordingly

Yea, I realize @darkbladejk as I also identified that above; having come to same conclusion. Thanks for your help!
Yet without the Mod they still say 90 degree? Also all 3 of my Wide Arc Disruptor's that missing the [Arc] modifiers can't be reengineered; yet 1 I discovered later today one does have the Modifier, and could be reengineered.
I doubt I'll get them to FIX this, still maybe they can. I don't want to throw these out and craft 3x new ones; which is really pointless except to be able to change the Modifiers.
I put in a Support Ticket and they moved it up, yet never held much hope from support responses, most often support can't even write back accurate confusing things only more. They thought I was having problems with Phaser, Plasma, Polaron and Disruptors; despite I stated very clearly it was only Wide Arc Disruptor Dual Heavy Cannons.
At first I thought it was all 4 Wide Arc Disruptor Dual Heavy Cannons, on 4 toons I provided in the ticket, then updated to say it was only 3 Wide Arc Disruptor Dual Heavy Cannons. Since today I noticed 1 was fine and could be reengineered, just not the others...

@strathkin do me a favor and PM me that support ticket number.

Maybe just see if you can buy one off the exchange and see if you can re-engineer it (with the same character)... then after testing you can resell it....
Yea I suspect I could, because turns out 1 of the 4 Klingons did have in fact the [Arc] Modifier, and remodified or reengineered it just fine. I just don't think I should have to buy or craft 3 more, then fully upgrade them, just to mostly throw out the ones I have.
All I can HOPE is they maybe can restore the [Arc] modifier, and then lets me fix or reengineer the remaining modifiers. Yet wouldn't want it to mess up everyone else Modifiers either, yet if they have that MOD already it shouldn't effect them. Just no idea why 3 are missing it.
According to the re-engineering page on the wiki, the [Arc] modifier on crafted space weapons is locked and can't be re-engineered. Either the wiki is out of date (wouldn't be at all surprised) or there's a bug that allowed the [Arc] modifier to be changed in the first place.
Yea I'm FINE that the [Arc] MOD can't be reengineered, it's usually the ONLY one that's locked. That's also how my Phasers, Plasma, Polaron Wide Arc Dual Heavy Cannon's work. I was however only able to reengineer 1 set of my 4 Wide Arc Disruptor Dual Heavy Cannons, cause strangely only one had the MOD.
So Likely I'm going to have to throw 3 of them out, despite having fully upgraded them after crafting them. Why are 3 of 4 of them missing the MOD is beyond me; as they all do say 90 degree firing ARC and match the Description shown on the STO FANDOM WIKI.
This means in time I'll likely have to Craft a new SET and upgrade them yet again, only able to gain a tiny bit of salvage or maybe get 28k Energy Credit for them at best if I discard them. This represents a huge loss...

A real shame cause they are Wide-Arc Disruptor Dual Heavy Cannons that were crafted.
Sadly likely nothing I can do, except ensure before you Upgrade Wide-Arc Dual Heavy Cannon's have the ARC MOD. Most likely will, and strangely is only my Disruptor's that are missing them 75% of the time.
Like I say I've had these awhile, so can't recall when this occurred. Likely a momentary glitch in the MATRIX, as others who crafted them said they had the MOD just fine.
I passed the report up the chain after doing some testing myself. I have some good news and I have some bad news. The good news is that the team checked into wide arc cannons and the team was able to figure some stuff out. So for the good news, no other cannons should have this issue going forward. If folks craft some cannons going forward that come out without the Arc mod please let me know as this will lock them out of the reengineering system.
Now for the part folks aren't going to like. Unfortunately if you have a set of the older cannons missing the Arc mod, you will need to craft a new set of them and level them up if you wish for them to interact with the reengineering system. I wish I had better news on that. If folks manage to craft cannons without the Arc mod after the date of this post, please let me know

Strange today I noticed one of my toon's that had the Wide Arc Disruptor Dual Heavy Cannon's still had them unbound at EPIC. I could have sold them far cheaper than the others, as most of the Disruptor ones look way overpriced, yet also didn't want someone to inherit my problem. So I made them bound to myself, and now likely have to throw them away or salvage them!

That was my biggest reason for posting this, as there is still some without the MOD on exchange right now!
