Why can't ship modules be account bound instead of character?I have a few extra I want to give to another character at the same level that one doesn't need it.
Why can't we give a family member or friend a Zen ship we have unlocked ?
I
I would like to ship modules become account bound so other characters can use them as said above.

The more players are required to grind out Rank 6 rep on every character, the more likely they are to get sick of it and either buyout up to rank 5 rep or to buy the ship module directly with zen.
If you dont have any fleet ships to buy, then the extra modules just sit there in the bank. Nothing else to do with them.
If you have a new character for whom you want a fleet ship, then you can 1) grind enough reps to rank 6, 2) grind EC and buy fleet modules from the exchange, 3) grind Dil, convert to zen, and buy fleet modules using zen, 4) purchase zen with cash and buy the fleet modules with zen.
then. What do you do with your left over ship modules if you have 1 or 2 left ?You maybe young with no bills and with inflation going up.
See, you are under the impression that Cryptic should care about that. They are a business. Not a charity. Their purpose is to make money. They make more money by keeping the modules character-bound rather than account bound. They are not going to intentionally do something that would result in them not bing able to makeas much money. How many bills we have, how old we are and how much inflation we have to deal with is not their concern.
This.
To be fair to Cryptic, they really have provided enough concessions to freebie players (more than quite a few F2P games TBH). Granted the PC dilex is borked (playerbases fault) but it's still possible to access nearly everything for free.
Yeah the prices are on the high side, but with time and patience you can have it all. Plus the staff have to deal with everything we do.

Those are the options Crypic has given us.
I have spent in total over $600.00 on this game and PWI someone would say I ma nuts to spend that much on video game which is true as a normal video game cost under $50.00 .I could use good video card as better hardware as well.I don't a problem in account wide ship modules .The dilex is broken as PWE say you don't gave to pay anything for playing their games .You can also get zen through the auction house in PWI with using coin .PWE owns Cryptic .It is like the bundles who want to pay a $130.00 on it or starve. There is real life to consider .
That whole statement is flawed and there is no grind in this game as it easier than PWI.BTW I ma a Beta tester for this game and don't play it as often as you possibly .

Reputation awarded ship modules... are a nice freebie bonus for that toon as a thank you for enduring the reputation grind to tier 6. Its a reason to grind reps you don't care about. We have 12 reps now, if you don't use any gear from that rep a +2% dmg bonus doesn't matter, and if you don't want a different type unlocked at 6 you don't have a lot of incentive to grind it past t5.
So cryptic added some rewards everyone can use no matter what... a ship module and a retrain token.
They aren't supposed to be normal modules... they are a reward for that toon. Normal modules come from the exchange, (or as a rare reward from some doff packs). Those can be gifted to other players, and they can even be sold on the exchange. You can buy your friends modules with EC if you don't want to spend zen.

This is our accounts and this is old now. I would like to see them account based as I screwed to of my Toons up and don't want to rerole them and I have spent a great deal buying Zen .I am closed NDA beat tester .
I don't need every module for all my toons so Why not use them on others instead of sitting in your bank.

Rep stuff is for the character that unlocked it.
Of course, you also said this: ...so I know that you have completely unrealistic expectations.
Why would any game do that? I've certainly never seen it.
