So I was looking at the list of ships you can get from the tree copon, I noticed the ones you can pick are all faction based ones in terms of Fed, Rom or KDF and their respected races and the terran ones.
I can not speak for everyone, but I think that we should also be able to used said copon for event ships that we may have missed too from when ever, ships that probably won't be back on the list of options.
Thoughts?

it is nice having these in mudds market, but if I have a free T6 copon, I would like to buy ANY T6 ship instead of just a limited list of ships that I can still get at any time.
If you can get the special ship for cheap at any time, then you lose the pressure to keep your end of the deal.
So business reasons say: not a chance.

and again, past event ships dont normally make a return as to a "new" ship that may or may not have been seen before.
This was about a 3000 zen T6 coupon, which most recently was given for logging in one time during the anniversary.
You seem to be talking about using the 70-day, 5-event campaign reward to get an older event ship instead of a lock box or promo pack? Sure, that would make sense.
Cryptic could keep the Fear of Missing Out going for new event ships by adding only 1-2 year old and older event ships to the 70-day reward list of ship unlocks. So if you want a Sarr Theln carrier more than a TOS Connie you can get it.
I just feel that the selection we have to use a free ship coupon on, is very limited and I think that, as I said, being able to use it on older event ships that some of us might not have because we didn't start to play till some time after. Muds market is a great idea and all for that, but I think they need to give us more options.
Free ship is free.
It's not supposed to be newest/best/most-anything.
And everyone got it for merely logging in during the month or so it was claimable.
Please remember this when complaining. And yes, your original post is a complaint, where you ask us to back you up.
I was trying to get the Samsar since the second run of the phoenix box event (back when the boxes were only available during the event). I finally gave up on it and use a T5UX Nihydron destroyer for my Kobali captain since the chances of getting an epic token are so bad.
While in theory having them be so rare with the abundance of DL does make sense as a DL sink... the odds are a bit demoralizing as it feels even worse than lockbox odds. And I view lockbox as the main prize is the Lobi, with everything else being gravy. Yea you want the big prize, but the main target is the Lobi.
