So I was reading the news that popped up about the Borg Resurgence event. A couple of questions come to mind.
1) When does it start? I didn't see a date listed in the announcement. I'm going to assume the 24th, but you know what they say about assuming.
Edit: Never mind about this question. While they didn't bother to list it in the announcement, they did list it on the pop-up from the 17th to the 10th of March.
2) What is the reward? So at the beginning it says if you do the event you get a chance to win a set of Cyclical Modulation Ground Weaponry (Pistol, Rifle, Assault). But when you go down to the bottom it says you get a chance to win a Dispersing Nanoprobe Assimilator console and the usual dilithium and TFO reward boxes. So which is it, and if it's the weaponry, where are their stats?
Edit Number 2: So apparently they finally took the time to proofread and update the news article. Really wish they had done that before posting it initially.
Sigh. Perhaps Cryptic could hire an intern to proofread the blogs before they are posted?
Based on the usual copy-paste errors I can confidently state that the event will begin...sometime this year...and will reward...something or other..., and that it might or might not be the first event of a new event campaign that possibly awards a promo pack ship. Or finally unlocks the playable Horta captains that Trendy promised us. One of those.
Dear Q. Getting a few dates wrong is one thing, but this is beyond embarrassing.
I was already preparing to write a post about how I hope they won't make the same mistakes as previous time. Pointless interruptions in Into the Hive especially.
And then there's the wrong voice overs at the wrong time. 'A probe is closing in on a transformer.' Uh, no, there isn't.
I don't see more voiceovers as a positive if they're going to be spammy and/or annoying. For example, the latest TFO. "Those rifts won't close themselves!" As a Klingon I should be able to tell the base commander to watch his mouth. Same with 'Captain' Harry Kim bossing a higher-ranked character around in Dust to Dust and Tasha Yar being annoying.

that why the best line in the whole game is castillos "I don't think the tholians CARES about starfleet regulation blah blah blah"

I actually got excited about the "Remaster" cuz the first one was absolute garbage. Then I noticed "new and improved" stuff that had been in for years and got confused.
If they brought the textures in these TFOs into at least 2015, I'd be through the moon. Oh well.
I felt a sense of dread when I saw the announcement - 3 Events overlapping now - time to seek treatment for event fatigue...
Unless you skipped days, you've finished the anniversary so that is voluntary over-grinding for dil.
If you have a KDF recruit from the original run there is no reason to create a second one. If this is your first one, you still just need to do the tutorial and get your progress-tracker-shiny. After that you can take as many years as you want to before finishing all the tasks.
That leaves one 2-week TFO event (plus 7 spare days) which doesn't sound bad.
If you're suffering from event fatigue, ask yourself whether you really need bonus dil from over-grinding.
I wasn't aware that ITC had problems that required a remaster. The other two, sure. But what was so egregiously wrong with ITC that warranted developer time be spent on it instead of something else?? Or am I just misunderstanding?
The text was copy-pasted from the 2020 event. There probably is no 2022 remaster.
I'm bummed that the Cyclic Weapons won't be offered, saw that in the early announcement. I really hope they decide to make them available again for those of us who weren't around when they were first offered! Other than that, the new console looks great and can't wait for the new event!
Wow. You people are incredibly spiteful. I saw the post, moved on with my life, and saw the repost, then moved on with my life. You all are the reason a lot of us never open the chat box in game.

I read through and pre-edit what I type in these forums before I press the "post comment" button, so why can't they do the same for these announcements before they post them?

Did you not read the sign on the door when you came in? "Cryptic", it's not just a name, it's a way of life. Figuring out their News Posts IS the Endgame.
Did nobody read the sign on the door when they came in? "Cryptic" They take that sheet seriously. It's not just a name, it's a way of life. Figuring out their news posts IS the Endgame. (You do have to give them props to seemingly hiring out of work Batman Villains for their Social Media Engagement)

If you're going to announce a major revamp of some of the most played content when you're not actually going to do that because you already did it, then you can expect some people to point out how silly that is.
It's not just that mistakes were made here; as pointed out by others, they're made often. Moreover, anyone who has been here since the last revamp would immediately have some serious questions about the validity of the post.
And it is confusing people because apparently many people here think there's going to be an event AND a revamp, when it's just another event.

Yeah, that part gets me too - it's like "holy Christmas, there are like a dozen rifts open, and two ships nearby... oh wait, they got blown up... morons."

Wow they even took the time to mirror the first picture and adjust the logo.

Who knows? The "remastered" part could just be part of the copy-paste from 2020.

I seriously doubt anything is going to be remastered.
Or any more voice overs being added.

The Cryptic company motto - "That'll do". All they need to do is hold strikes every week and they'll be British Leyland.
Maybe stop blowing the profits on VAs and hire a proof reader. Plus our CM could probably do with less hats anyway.

One drop of water on the forehead is nothing, right? Ignore it an move on.
Years of that steady drip...drip...drip? It can drive one mad.
(Warning: slight hyperbole above)
