"Captains opening the Discovery: Emerald Chain Lock Box may find themselves fortunate enough to win the Emerald Chain Intel Juggernaut [T6]. To say that this vessel was designed is likely an overstatement, and it is more likely a cobbled-together collection of various ships, ship parts, and technologies from any culture unfortunate to find itself under the lash of the Emerald Chain. The gargantuan size of the vessel is clearly intended to intimidate others, as are its many obvious weapon mounts. Although primarily designed to subdue and conquer, this vessel is also no stranger to subterfuge, as sometimes a lighter touch is necessary to undermine enemy capability regardless of firepower brought to bear.
(Additional information on the above starship will be contained in a separate Developer Blog.)"

Seriously though, destruction and even destruction waves upon destruction whenever any enemy is destroyed? And how silly, weaponised 'Burns'.
Is it really necessary to add even more of this kind of spam?
The ground part doesn't seem much better. More spam of even more security escorts, constant throwing around of enemies - even in escape pods. I don't think we need even more disruptive stuff.
The uniform and helmet look nice though. And the Weapons expert doff looks interesting too.
But as a big space barbie fan I'll probably get the uniform

Violating the Temporal Prime Directive to get ships from the future, blowing up tons of dilithium just to take down ships, purposely causing an unstable genesis device, using Borg tech up to assimilating corpses and ship husks for a while, weaponizing the mycelial network and parasitic ice, stealing stuff from the Terran Empire of various areas and using it despite how agonizing its effects are, and now weaponizing the freaking Burn in not one but several ways!
I'm sure they dread the moment we'll eventually recreate a mini-DMA and, unlike the original, abuse the hell of it just to blow hundreds of ships.
LOL, not to mention all the Temporal Agent / x-Recruit captains wading through rivers of blood from their slaughtered enemies.
Red plasma beams sound nice for Space Barbie, and "Space: Friends in Unusual Places" sounds nice for a carrier + summons build.
Yeah. The first paragraph I could appreciate. Halfway through the second I was like, wait a minute...
And then the third paragraph... Well, if hypocrisy could be weaponised and used in this game too, this blog would provide enough ammo to serve as an instant-win button.
You mean the Styx? That one is already in the game.
Styx is a downsized imitator of that and looks a fair bit different. Viridian will be downsized too, but at least keeps its look.
It was too large for the game. 10km in length going by the model they were given by the Disco CG team. ESD is scaled for 5km in length. So the Styx was created as an acceptable middle-ground.
Viridian is the largest/longest ship in-game according to a recent 10 Forward, beating out even the lumbering Universe-class, of which is around 3.2km in length. Supposedly, the Devs haven't even attempted to test a group of 5 in the Voth Cityship Breach Operation. So that one will be pretty hilarious.
True, but apparently that was done on purpose. So I doubt we'll ever see the 'real' dreadnought in the game then.
Now that I'm thinking about it: I'm guessing the next Mudd bundle will include the 26nd century ships. No one interested in flying the biggest ship is going to get one of those from a promo pack anymore now, so...
As for the timeline of STO being a horrific mess, far beyond the WWII Earth pocket universe the Na'kul created: I expect that's why Daniels kept hailing you all the time, he meant to hail someone else to tell them that this pocket universe of madness was secure, but kept accidentally hitting the button to call you in his constant state of panic from being in charge of guarding this pile of temporal warcrimes from the likes of the players and the Lobi Crystal Consortium.
Yeah that one definitely caught my eye, I wonder if it applies to the free CSV and BFAW from ETM, if so it could be nuts! Even if it doesn't though I'll probably grab it for characters that don't have a Lt Commander Tactical seat on their ship (I don't really like the concept of torpedo boats so I force DEWs on all my ships, even when they aren't ideal such as on the Legendary Intrepid).
"Tactical Kit Module and Training Manual – Freelance Security Detachment
Beams in out-of-Alliance partners to assist in providing security guarantees in a ground scenario. They will fight for you for a moderate surge duration before returning to the ship, ready to deploy again on a moments' notice. Lower rank versions of the power beam in fewer people, while the Tactical Kit Module can deploy up to four security team members. The Kit Module also works on a charge system, expending all charges when the power is activated and deploying one security guard per charge consumed."
With as many of formerly Engineer and Science exclusives got a Universal mod equivalent, why are Tacs the only ones that get Security Team equivalents? I want tactical escorts when I'm playing without my BOffs on my Engs and Scis. I get that it's required to have a Profession to make Manuals, but why not have the Kit Module be Universal?
I would be tempted to buy the Universe Class if it was available through the Mudd Store. It can be a very fun ship to fly.
It is
The ship itself. I am really tempted. I am a sucker for the 32nd century and Iconian style ships with non-attached parts. I also kinda liked the Universe class - the nacelles might still be attached, but only by a hair (well, a big hair).

Thank You, I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees this.
EDIT: Nevermind, got a hunch and checked on Reddit, and indeed it does. A really nice development, indeed!
Finally the comment I was looking for. Chains, 'leather' bodysuits, I mean I'm not complaining it is a harmless video game, but it had to be pointed out.
Plus, considering they're absolutely useless as armor since one mook manages to get himself killed by less-exploding-and-more-sparkling panel during the fight in SF HQs (at ~0:43):

Maybe they were just bondage wear for Osyraa's sadistic pleasure.
