Hi!
I am a return player from when the game was pretty new.
I fully intend to do a little more than 100% free, i.e. to show patronage, but did not know if the following was a waste of Zen:
When you make a TOS toon you get a free Pioneer ship and a free TOS shuttle.
I got them and was looking at ship customizations.
One is: the Constitution 2267 Interior/Bridge Bundle that comes with an F-Class shuttle and an F-Class pet.
My questions are:
* Is the Connie bridge any different than the free TOS Pioneer one? Is it noticeably more TOS Enterprise-like?
* You already have the shuttle for free so.... ?
I mean is this 2000 zen Constitution Bridge Bundle customization really just:
1) for people buying it for some non TOS ship for fun or
2) kind of a redundant albatross left over from before you got the stuff free?
I just didn't want to buy it and realize I'd essentially gotten nothing but the F-Class pet because I just re-purchased 90% what I already had free.
Any insight is much appreciated, esp. if the bridge bears any real difference.
Thanks!
P.S.
I'm a changeling from deep in the Gamma Quadrant. I got my Earth infiltration disguise intel from some guy with big earlobes and little pointy teeth.
I am not in-game, so I can’t verify. But I think the Constitution bridge is more a case of “ 2) kind of a redundant albatross left over from before you got the stuff free.”
Bridge packs were offered for 2000 zen in the c-store when the doff system rolled out. They take about 3-months of development hours to make and are therefore rather expensive to produce. Prior bridges were just the bridge themselves. They were generic and very cheap in the C-store. Because the new bridges for the TOS and TNG Enterprises were expensive (As much as the then end-game T5 ship) they did not sell well. Because they didn’t sell well (And because there are only 5 hero ships with full interiors that have been seen onscreen, right. If they made say an Enterprise B interior they would have to make the shuttle bay and everything up from scratch), Cryptic only made one more for the Intrepid. Cryptic currently says they have no plans to release any more ship interiors. And although lockbox ships and event ships used to have unique bridges—Cryptic stopped making them 2-3 years ago.
That being said please be aware that: 1) I believe the pioneer bridge is only available on a handful of ships. While the Constitution bridge can be used on many (but not all) of the Federation ships. So if you want a defiant with a Constitution bridge you can, but I don’t think you can use the Pioneer bridge with that ship.
2) if you pay for a constitution bridge. It is very bugged and unlikely to be fixed anytime soon. Cryptic no longer works on interiors because “players don’t use them. And players don’t use them because they are cosmetic that no one sees and are broken because Cryptic won’t fox them.

The Pioneer Bridge only has one lower deck, while the TOS Bundle Constitution interior has 2. However the Pioneer does come with an "armory" room with a shooting range.

Actually... I believe Cryptic's stance was that they won't make new interiors for ships unless its showcased in a mission, such as with the Galaxy and Intrepid interiors. So its not entirely off the table. We just need a story mission which calls for that.
The Connie interior is that expensive because its part of a bundle, which IMO justifies the pricetag since there are other items coming with it. The Galaxy interior, on the other hand, is on its own and around the same price. I personally feel that was a missed opportunity for a TNG bundle that could have included a Type 6 shuttle and Dr. Crusher's Lab Coat among other things like the Type 2 phaser.

But note we have had a ton of missions running around inside the Disco Crossfield’s but there is no player ship interior option for them beyond the basic bridge.
As for the TOS Bridge? I have it, but I’m not sure how or why? I’ve never specifically purchased it, but I do have the Agents of Yesterday Expansion pack, so maybe from that? Or did they give it away at some point? If you are a TOS fan be aware there really aren’t many True TOS style ships at T6. There is the Legendary Connie from the 10th anniversary pack (which is only briefly offered periodically throughout the year), the Legendary Miranda has a really nice TOS style skin. The Agents of Yesteryear X pack has 4 Temporal ships that can each take a skin of one of the T3-5 TOS ships. So the Paladin can become a T6 Ranger etc. The Nautilus can sport the Daedalus skin. The Infinity Lockbox’s include the TOS era Atlas Heavy cruiser. Which is insanely priced on the Exchange due to the console it comes with. Sadly there is no T6 version of the Pioneer. Which is a shame, it’s a cool ship design.

They didn't make any lower decks for the Discovery bridge. They made generic hall pieces in DSC style for use in multiple areas that can be made into whatever is needed. Unless we specifically have something set on an interior like in Beyond the Nexus, we're not likely to have anything on that level.

Thanks for everyone's great information and perspectives. So it looks like I might like the Connie interior bundle for fun for some other ship I use a lot but it seems it would be a total waste of money on the Pioneer since its bride is so similar and you already have the Shuttle.
I still might buy it in another situation like if I'm using some ship a lot that doesn't have a TOS bridge or Shuttle but I feel like looking at it. I am one of those players who loves the details others skip past... like anyone comes to my house and I walk around the bridge, listen to the sounds, etc...
My first impression as the Pioneer bridge loaded and the sounds came in was pure and utter delight.
Oh my... qultuq saying the Constitution interior is buggy is right... I can understand not wanting to be the coder who has to fix the crew's hands from disappearing into the console (esp. since I probably altered my crewman's arm length) -- but: Why would they develop and sell this whole thing with lower deck etc. and leave all the people sitting in chairs as missing the chair and sitting in the floor ?
How bad could that be to fix?
"Not worth it because players don't see it" -- I just bought it for 1300 zen and learned how to force myself onto my bridge at any time. Any TOS fan I know would come try the game partly for this whole feature you can show a friend at any time with the click of a button.
How hard can it be to fix the people in the chairs?
This isn't a case of bodily dimensions it's anyone, any size.
That said, it's thrilling for a 50 or 60 year old and many more. Lots of great work deserving of the one fix left, at least, that compromises it so much. Kudos to making it at all. I know the original devs probably haven't thought about it in years and probably work somewhere else... heck I'd volunteer to fix it for free if I knew how. That's really the only thing that's a giant punchbowl TRIBBLE ruining the whole effect so badly.
People sitting on floors everywhere with a chair in their face.
The ranger also comes with I believe the pioneer bridge, but it can't be used with the fleet version. Just wish they'd unlock them or add the extra deck.

I have the Connie bridge and use it often. It does have some bugs, but they are not a big deal for me. It really helps me with immersion in the era. When my character is walking the corridors and going in the rooms, it just feels like I am playing in a TOS episode. Same goes for K-13. I just love K-13, it is my favorite social/fleet zone in the game. My character has a T6 Sagittarius with a Gemini skin, so I need the Connie bridge; the Pioneer will not work on the T6 version of the Gemini.

The chair thing is annoying but not really breaking IMO. The missing shuttlebay door, on the other hand... that is a problem. And last I heard they were aware of it. However its most likely a low priority compared to other issues in game so... might be a while.

The 2267 TOS Interior comes with a lot more of a Constitution interiors from the series. It was done at a time when they thought people would be willing to pay for interiors. Other paid interiors Cryptic has made include the DS9 Defiant ship interior the Intrepid Class (Star Trek: Voyager) interior; and the Galaxy Class (TNG series) interior.
Cryptic however found that most players won't pay extra for a specific interior - thus doing more (unless it's specifically for some new mission content) has a bad return on investment; so they stopped.
To your specific question: There's really no difference between the Bridges you mention; but if you like/want to run around on more of the TOS era interiors (Sick Bay or Main Engineering from TOS Season 1) - if all you want is the TOS series era Bridge, you wouldn't need to buy the 2267 Constitution interior.

Part of the problem was there really was no functional purpose to the interiors. You visit them once or twice then largely forget about them. Of the Hero ship interiors they released the Voyager one is probably the best, in terms of layout. The Defiant looks cool, but is cramped and really badly laid out making it a chore to find the services available. So much so that you just end up saying TRIBBLE it and either go back to the default bridge, or just go beam to ESD to do whatever you were trying to do. Personally I find the sounds of the TOS interior harsh and distracting. Although it can be cool if you have the set of Holo TOS Bridge crew. .

They had to make the TOS bridge environmental sounds a bit loud and attention grabbing so viewers would not notice how badly the floor squeaked and popped when people walked on it, even with the carpeting. Something in the underlayment for the floor was done wrong and they had neither the budget nor the time to rip everything up to see what it was and fix it.
