Speaking of STO references in the shows I just watched Lower Decks s2 episode 9. The one with the Vulcan, Klingon, Pakled and Borg Lower Decks crews. Is it just me, or did the Klingon part of the story feel oddly familiar? Like really really familiar?
I'm not surprised. Now if only the Odyssey-class and some other 2410s ship variants are canonized into TV canon; preferably via Picard and Disco flashbacks, that'd be perfect.

Definitely. Delightfully so! Plus one of the episodes in the prior seasons, where Mariner has all the contraband? I dunno, I felt like it was phrased the way a STO player would phrase it...
While I suspect the producers/writers of Trek aren't intentionally trying to canonize STO, it is clear they know of it and have respect for it.
True, and I suspect that at least some of them probably only know pre-DSC or pre-Kelvin Star Trek from games like STO (and perhaps a movie or two) rather than past series.

(I rather love it.)
