Returning problems after 8/24/2021 Patch

The following 2 problems have returned after the 8/24/2021 Patch:

1) Black screen on first game launch after system reboot. This has been going on since the major House United release. After some patches it has gone away for a while then it comes back after another patch. When this happens I have to use Windows Task Manager to kill the process. After I do that the game launches fine until the next reboot. Supposedly this had been fixed it it seems to be back.

2) Welcome splash screen is once again showing up every time I load a character. I thought this had been removed months ago but it's back again (and VERY annoying).

System: WIndows 10 Home 64 Bit, 16GB RAM, Intel Core I5

    Note: Inserting -ArcOverlayEnable 0 into the launcher command line seems to have fixed the black screen at launch problem for me, at least for the moment. I never used the overlay anyway so that doesn't bother me at all. Now if we can just get rid of that silly welcome splash screen....

    Coldnapalm I wish you luck getting a fix for that pesky problem, I wish I could help but I have no idea what's causing it. In my particular case it seems to have something to do with the Arc Overlay, although why it should only mess up the first launch after a reboot stumps me, but that's how it was behaving here. I get the impression from reading other posts that this problem seems to have different causes for others. Unfortunately STO seems to be getting buggier and buggier as time goes on :(

    The welcome splash came then went, but now its back

    Hi. I am expericing the same problem. It goes to a dark screen after launch. It happened to me in July also for around 10 days. It seems to happen after the support works on the sever. Also, I don't hava a problem loading Champions so it's specifically with STO on ARC
