Crafted? There's good value in account bound items.

Depends on weapons types that you will use.

If cannons, then; Resonant Disruptor + console (blood of the ancient mission), Terran Withering Rep Cannons, Undine Turret (its heavy turret - better dmg that classic ones), Elachi lobi cannon + console (dis bonus + high severity), and for other slots zhat vash are worth consideration in this setting, or if you wanna visual effect, then go for Elachi.

If beams, then as others already said; Mortok Omni + console, Nausican, Romulan Rep (it don't use weapon power to fire - so no energy drain) + console, Terran Withering Rep Beam, and in remaining slot spirals waves.

I don't know if it's a bug, something with my setup (which I don't see being the case, because while I don't have ALL the BiS stuff and probably never will, I still have most of it, especially in the trait department) or just intentional design, but I use ZV DHCs on my klingon recruit and...they seem to be weaker than DHCs of any other type - when they damage a target, they feel more like DCs than DHCs.

And yes, they ARE in fact DHCs - I did not accidentally buy a set of DCs.

all my weapons are canon based. if a wep wasn't on a given ship in any of the series', it doesn't go on my ships.. ie; D7/K'tinga never had beam weapons, despite what was in DS9. they had CANnons

I only use Elachi, because I love the visual effects. I'm just tired of playing the best result and I want the most fun.

I must say, lately we have a lot of weapon problems. Diminishing power, locked slots (weapons in them wont fire) or despite equipping ba'ul set, other antiprotons won't refract.

Here its relay hard to say, or figure out what is happening in this game. On this Jem'hadar Venator looking carrier ZV cannons worked fine, or as it should, but on my Sithus (or whatever) Ferasan escort (very under performing ship compared to Ma'Tha or other KDF escorts), they indeed return diminishing dmg, despite using higher leveled skills, and cd between cycles seems longer.

The Nausican set (called Entoiled Technology Set) is good for a kind of hybrid drain science build. Its weapons do drain proc on top of the normal dmg resistance debuff, and its flow cap is one of only two I know of in the early part of the game that has both the full drain ability of a normal flow cap and another ability (in this case +disruptor dmg and +power transfer rate).

The other combined flow cap is the one from Quantum Phase Catalysts set and while it is of less use in a disruptor build I put that one in too at lower levels before fleet caps are available because the +aux power is better than a plain cap even though the +phaser part isn't (on some ships that are more weapons oriented I throw the QPC torpedo on it too though I know a lot of people don't like the "traditional" two torpedo show setup).

Ever since the last update cannons of all sorts are completely broken. Most of them don’t fire much if at all. Cryptic is aware of the problem but it seems that even such a massive poo up does not justify an emergency patch.

Think Bort mentioned somewhere that they might tend to it Thursday. Would be funny if it wasn’t so sad.

This is going to depend a lot on how much you are into Space Barbie, vs raw dps? Also if you prefer Cannons or Beams? While the DPS output of the Zhat Vash stuff is pretty baseline, not bad, not special. Just normal Disrupters, they do look great. And the Cannons look closes to on screen Klingon Cannons. Your shots don't curve.

Spiral hit great, but their Urine Yellow color is kind of yuck.

The Blend of Terran, Nausican and House Martok with set bonuses is a great mix. Plan on adding the Lorca DBB. It is available in Disruptor at Discovery rep T6.

Fans of the "sensor Linked Phasers" sometimes forget they also come in Disruptor.
