Infinity Prize Pack - T5 Ship Return

I think the discontinued T5U ships (listed below) should be returned to the T5 Infinity prize pack, I understand Upgraded T6 ships have replaced them, but it would be nice to have more of a choice in the T5 prize pack for those of us who aren’t lucky enough to get the T6 prize pack, plus for those who don’t/can’t get Zen, they will have a bigger variety of decent ships at a cheaper price that have a free upgrade from T5 to T5U like the Hirogen Hunter Heavy Escort does on the Exchange. It’d be great if ships weren’t discontinued at all, keep the variety up 🙂

I already made post about it (T5 pack is useless now - this was the title or something like that), but... it was a no. Still I support this idea wholeheartedly.

Even better would be to stick them in c-store T5 section.

I agree that’d be a good idea, however I still like the idea of people who can’t get/afford Zen being able to pick these ships up for cheap on the exchange like the Hirogen escort. My Fleet Section 31 Command (PS4/5) offers a T5U ship to new members who only have a T5 ship or below to help them out, it’d be great to offer a wider variety of ships we picked up from the exchange 🙂👍🖖

It's a nice idea, but since Space Barbie is the true endgame some people would get the cheap T5U instead of the expensive T6, which means less latinum to keep the salaries paid and servers running. So no because (business) reasons.

While I see your point, isn’t getting a T5 or T6 Infinity prize pack just pot luck, I can’t see people who purchase keys stopping just because they got a T5 Infinity Prize Pack, it would just provide more options. With people who are ship collectors it may even have the opposite effect and increase sales 🙂

Then they will just nerf the drop rate, if the packs suddenly have value thy would probably nerf it to like 0.5-1% drop rate

People who don't use the smart way (the exchange) keep opening packs until they run out of zen or get what they want. On average they need to open 250 lock boxes to get a T6 ship but only 50 boxes to get a T5 ship. Cryptic really likes getting the money from those extra 200 boxes.

Haha I definitely agree with your point on Cryptic, however I think we may have to agree to disagree on whether returning these ships would create more or less profit, I just don’t think getting a T5 Infinity Prize pack would stop anyone from trying to get a T6, plus we all know how ship collectors operate. Haha I may be just naive because I get my ships off the exchange not by opening Lock Boxes.

I just read your post, hopefully if enough people ask they might reverse the decision to retire ships and bring back the ships they’ve already retired, can’t hurt to ask 🙂

    Great idea.

Whether they do it this way or some other way, these ships should be brought back. Even if having a T5 means you can't use the T6 visuals - to address one of the concerns.

As it is, those T5 packs are pretty much worthless right now and that shouldn't be the case.

For what it's worth I've said for awhile now it was a bad move to remove those ships from the packs, and also removing the crossfaction packs or similar. All it did was remove budget options for people. At the very least the ships allow for folks to have another admiralty card. if someone is a ship collector, that's one more ship they won't have access to.

they need to remove boxes for a while and start allowing players alternate ways to obtain stuff they want.
i will only ever open boxes when we are handed keys as part of a free gift or whatnot. i will not chase a pixel prize down a rabbit hole.

Never gonna happen unless the government steps in, because money.
and start allowing players alternate ways to obtain stuff they want.
They already do via Mudd's, not everything is available there but they've been adding a lot of ships to it.

The unfortunate thing is that enough people ARE willing to gamble that you and I refusing to participate doesn't matter. As long as people keep spending a fortune on keys and promo boxes they will never slow down.

Folks can already buy the items they want on the exchange generally without having to open boxes themselves. It's akin to buying singles on the secondary market for MTG, yugioh, or pokemon.

I would also ask what you have in mind by "alternate ways", because more often than not it usually boils down to people wanting something for next to nothing.

oh i get it, im not without knowledge of real world stupidity...i am also not without knowledge that they are losing out on money none the less from other aspects by the continual BS.
i get it, im a minority when it comes to LBs and making it available via other means, just needs to be said at times is all.

as far as mudds....please. the past 3 years of free winter ships are 17k a pop...WTF? (i have them already so no loss for me, but really?)

the bundles also do nothing for me. I dont want or need all that other sheet they toss in.

    oh well.

can, sure...but at 55billion EC? please. you know as well as i do thats a farce. i will admit, i dont play the economy like some do, let alone play a game like many, but i dont need to have a gazillion EC in the bank. in fact, im far below the avg bear i suspect. (ps - i could care less about pokemon or whatever else you mentioned)

alternate ways would be cstore, stop with packs and bundles. lobi is also a farce, as "most" ways to get it is LBs, aside from recent grind fests. hell, the 10th anny is way past, so why not offer those ships as single buys at the store now. even if its "non-elite."

ive said it before... while people may justify a 10 hotdog sale at $10 bucks as a bargain, i dont need 10 hotdogs, or want 10. i may want 2. therefore, for myself, id rather pay $2 per dog, and get what i want and will use (eat in this case) and not waste the rest. everyone has their own way of justifying a purchase, and i get it that as a bundle it is great for a cost per ship, but its wasteful and doesnt justify my wallet getting opened - to me.

well, time to run for a bit. :)

Completely agree, my first ship with a Mastery was from the T5 Prize Pack (Undine Nicor Bioship) having a T5U ship made a huge difference over having a standard T5 Cruiser. I would have loved to of had the option for the Xindi-Aquatic T5U ship. Plus the removed ships come with a free upgrade, so it really helps people who maybe can’t afford Zen :)

I know that folks that like to play the market want me to buy from them but I would rather give those who actually provide something to me my money. If I want something I will buy it from Cryptic or if that is not possible, I will do my part in keeping the lights on.

I agree, as I think so does pretty much everyone in this thread!
