As stated in discussion title, since the update on April 8, I can not log into STO. I will get all the windows up to the "engage" window (where you can select the shard you want to play on) and then........black screen w/ the thinking cursor (my is a spinning blue circle). I have completely uninstalled Arc and all its components and reinstalled them and I'm stuck at the same place - where the CRYPTIC logo should appear, nothing. Thanks for any help.

One time, just as I hit the kill but before anything happened a red line popped up saying something about no token, so I suspect that the launcher may be failing to provide credentials the right way for some reason and that kill-and-restart somehow jogs it into providing them properly.
It happened twice in a row this morning at around 9:15 and 9:23 AM (Eastren), so I'm going to do a Force Verify and I'll try again and see.
Edit: It happened on the third time after a Force Verify. I'll go to Safety Dance Mode.
Even force verifying is not having much luck with starting this game up.
Have you tried starting the game directly from the application?

Still as always try new drivers if available, and ensure Windows is currently patched with Windows Update as best you can.
Wish I could be of more help!
Try CTRL (Shift) ESC to see Task Manager then you can choose to close STO Application and try to relaunch.
OR
Alt F4 (Alt + F4 is a Windows keyboard shortcut, that completely closes the application you're using.)
Or try closing ARC then launching the Game directly from the folder where STO is installed, easily found if you search File Manager for 'Star Trek Online' then navigate to that Drives \Star Trek Online_en\ Star Trek Online.exe (Application) as identified.
Hope something there helps a few.
