It's a good change to the Ambassador, but I still won't buy it. They're missing the central hangup for about 99 percent of the dissenters: asking for $200 for 4 ships.
The 'value' of a legendary was firmly established last year - with the discount, you were looking at $20 per-legendary (and for some of the most exclusive vessels in the game, at that). By contrast, this 'deal' is asking $50 per-legendary.
No, I don't give the fluff so much as a nod, nor do I count it towards the overhead they are asking. There's no extra credit being offered in this course. We want the ships; we (almost all of us) only care about the ships; all we were asking for was the ships.
$20 ≠ $50. It's not even close. So, big shock that almost nobody is going to bite on this trap.
+ 2 T6 coupons so it's not as lopsided as you make it sound.
With individual products in the pack it is actually decent/good value, but the fluff other than the ships is something most players already have in their inventory so the value for those people drops considerably.
It's a bid sad since i adore the excelsior and ambassador classes, but the purchase of this legendary pack would not cover its value for me.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
That being said, seeing them listen to feedback and make changes is an encouraging trend and one I hope continues.
Yea that’s something we really should keep an eye on.
The whole trend here reminds me a bit of what my Latin teacher said to me back in 8th class when I felt happy for getting my first D- straight after a row of three Fs!
"One swallow does not make a summer."
But since I got my Latin proficiency certificate eventually I see no reason to loose our optimism here.

T6 coupons are of no use to someone who has the ships they want from the C-store. Their value to me and many veterans is zero.
That. And the value stays at zero as they do not work for new releases (this fact NEEDS to be stated at those things really......). If I want a ship I want to buy it at release and not 6 months later then the coupon starts working for it. All the fluff is valued 10k+ Zen in the bundle but is practically useless for most of the people that actually invest that kind of money into the game (like me, I buy a lot as I like the game and want to support it). I draw the line at that bundle at that price. I accepted some Ferengi level deals in the past but this is just too much.
I think it's a good thing that they are willing to listen and make changes and I commend them for that.
Unfortunately, for me, the most needed change has not been made and that's the overall value of the pack so I am still not going to consider it. That's based on my personal opinion of this packs value in comparison to previously released packs, I don't find that this has the same value as the baseline that's previously been established.
That being said, seeing them listen to feedback and make changes is an encouraging trend and one I hope continues.
It won't. I'm going to quote @jennycolvinagain, beause what she said is SO true and its disappointing that some can't see it:
Changes were not made because of constructive criticism. Changes were made because of the uproar in ALL the platforms - something that, as has been pointed out in this very thread, seems to be regarded as the minority when it comes to stuff like the Nova T6 and more KDF ships, but now that there's TONS of money on the line, suddenly they're not.
I, for one, am not naive enough to beleive that when this bundle nonsense has blown over they're suddenly going to start listening when there isn't $$$ at stake.
Should I make it part of my forum's signature then? XD
In all seriousness, I think both statements *can* and *should* coexist, meaning:
- *these* particular changes are made because of money;
- we hope that the trend of them listening to feedback will continue and, I might add, expand to stuff that it's not money-related;
Unfortunately, though, I think we *also* need to look at precedents here and the one that inevitably comes to mind is the Gamma Vanguard Pack: people were not happy, changes were made... but the trend ended there.
Not agreeing with someone doesn't give you the right to be an TRIBBLE.

Agli appartenenti al terzo tipo, invece, dico grazie. Anche se non sempre si riesce a mantenere la calma, siete quelli per cui vale la pena incazzarsi.
I already bought all KDF C-Store ships, I will check if there is some costums or so. I love both sides Fed and KDF but I'm disappointed how they handle the KDF Side. Don't even get me started with the Year of the Klingon...
C-Store Inc. is still looking for active members on the fed side. If you don't have a fleet feel free to contact me in game @stegi.
+ 2 T6 coupons so it's not as lopsided as you make it sound.
T6 coupons are of no use to someone who has the ships they want from the C-store. Their value to me and many veterans is zero.
I addressed that in the rest of the post which you didn't include in the quote.
I'm in the same situation:
+ I like the legendary ships
- Got spare T6 coupons already and nothing i want to spend them on
- Got a level 65 klingon already so the cross faction ship release i already have from that.
- Monk costume is not my cup of tea
- Lobi has limited value to me because the items are character bound
- etc.
Value wise a pack of 14k (4x 3.5k zen ) for a prior to discount for 4 legendary ships is something i would consider, but the rest of the stuff is not for me.
I get the impression that they want to market this pack to new players, but do new players really have the connection to these ships and the willingness to spend this amount of cash?
On the other hand the veteran players who have an interest in the ships and space barby are being put off by the cost and unwanted stuffing.

market this pack to new players, but do new players really have the connection to these ships and the willingness to spend this amount of cash?
And even if they do, why would they buy this when they are so much better off just waiting for another sale on the 10 pack?
Well, it's entirely possible a new player wouldn't know about that pack. However they would certainly know about all of the other packs that are available in the C-store, and it's not hard to compare and see a lot of other ship packs come with a lot more for the price.
That said, I have decided that even though I am not buying the bundle I am still going to show my support for the KDF and bought a ship from the C-store.
Ironically, it's one of the Vorcha variants that is in the bundle:
The original T6 Voral/Vorcha is definitely a good KDF ship that people should consider. The turn rate is great, and performance overall is very good. Sure, it's not a "top of the charts" DPS monster, but you don't need that to be successful in STO.
For my Klingon recruit, I decided to make a Nausicaan since I already have multiple Klingons. I struggled with which ship to use thematically since I'm not a fan of the Kolasi/Garumba. Ultimately, I decided on the Klothos Miracle Worker Cruiser since it has Miracle Worker boff powers and it "looks like it could" be a Nausicaan ship in a way. I'd like to find a vanity shield or alternate shield visuals to make it look more Nausicaan in color. I'm thinking maybe the 8472 Counter Command Shield.
For the record, I think that the Antaak Science Miracle Worker Cruiser is actually a better ship due to it's boff layout. However, I decided to go for the Klothos due to the visuals and extra tactical console. Plus the boff layout is still very similar to the Antaak.

I have my Recruit in the Kurak using the Mogh skin which I really like. I am however, still toying with the idea of picking up the Klothos during this sale.
I like the Kurak, but I really like the Miracle Worker powers, extra console and the Cyclical Quantum Slipstream for that quick Contraband farming. I was using the Qugh, which ticks all those boxes.. but man, it's just so ugly.
Your glamor shot has me thinking I'll probably fold and pick up the Klothos.. I do want to throw some support to the KDF side and that's a very attractive option.

Have to agree with everything you said here. The Qugh is undeniably a great ship but I can't stand the way it looks. The Kurak is a good ship too but it's old now and I'm tired of it. I should mention two things that I overlooked in my previous post. The Klothos only has a turn rate of 6 and can't slot dual cannons. Something to keep in mind.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.
The Klothos only has a turn rate of 6 and can't slot dual cannons. Something to keep in mind.
All limitations I was aware of, but I thank you for the reminder.
I ended up getting the Klothos.. because apparently the hundreds of ships I already have just aren't enough.
Dang it I was looking at the Klothos after salazarraze's amazing pic but I already have the Rom version Tebok & not wanting to pay for something I pretty much already have though I concede the Klothos looks better. I'll have to check-out the Fed & KDF versions of their Eng & Sci counterparts for long term planning for a consensus trio of sorts.
Since that has happened the sub factions have averaged what...about 1 ship a year?
They got at least two each last year with the support carriers and the recon destroyers, plus Romulans got a third with the Legendary T'liss.
Yeah...and that is after a year of no ships...it's been what...two years since they gave allied races access. So 2 ships in 2 years averages to 1 ship a year. Yes I forgot about the T'liss, so that makes Romulan's 1.5 and JH 1
I know it's a shot in the dark and probably delusional on my part.. but I am hoping that many players decide to keep their Klingon Recruits and Cryptic sees a market out there for Klingon Ships going forward.
Yes, I know.. just let me live in my fantasy world.. it's so much better here then the real world.

I wish, but I definitely wont hold my breath over it. I imagine once this so called year of the klingon is over they wont be getting any attention unless they're the focus in something like they were in season one of discovery

I'll be delusional there with you lol I don't see Cryptic doing it neither given their past & present approach towards most things non-Fed, but having hope isn't such a bad thing I suppose as long as it doesn't blind.
Going back to the original subject, I purchased during the current sale Ihgomas multi-mission ship for my Gorn recruit. I was not really interested in playing him with a Klingon ship, so now with a Gorn ship and Gorn bridge officers, I can go with a theme that interests me.
I originally created the recruit with the intent of just to have him there so my other characters get some benefits from it, mostly because the KDF side does not interest me too much. Now, with a full Gorn theme, I want to play this recruit and take him to endgame.

Cool. And don't forget there is actually a Gorn UI color theme you can select in your options

And you'd better not pick it unless you are running a Gorn Character, otherwise it'd be Cultural Appropriation.

Yep, that’s the case for me.
What’s also taking part in it is that they made all ships cross faction. First Jem, then Rom, now kdf and fed.
I don’t need these things even to get ship traits anymore.
Not that I’m complaining though. Just wanted to underline your comment.

Vor'ral is a really solid battlecruiser with a good trait and well-balanced build-options (and the skin is cool too, IMO).
The Lethean pilot-escorts are nice if you want something different. They remind me a bit of the smaller Kariak-ships from Haegemonia.
The Kor is still a solid T6-raider.
The T6-Vo'quv is a solid carrier, not as great as the DIS-D7, but it's okay.
Matha still has a solid damage-output, despite its age.
All limitations I was aware of, but I thank you for the reminder.

Awesome looking ship and I was still missing my Mirror Vo’Quv so it was an easy purchase 😁
