Happy ship day!

in Star Trek Online General Discussion
If you did your dailies diligently for the ship, you would have it today (It can be gotten earlier, but unless you want to play in the wee hours of the morning to achieve this, be my guest).
Please fly responsibly! Always have your inertial dampeners turned on.

    Hehe, it's a very impressive Raider ship imo, still somewhat squishy but awesome firepower potential, Cryptic did very well with this ship perhaps better than last year's Alliance Battlecruiser.

    I'm not great at raiders and escorts, but I'm enjoying it. I plan on flying it to death on at least 1 of my captains with a new Antiproton DHC build.

    Seems very nice so far. And seen quite a few excited people in game kitting them out.

    As a counterpoint to all the grumbling over the Anniversary Bundle, lets thank the Dev's. This is exactly what we look for in a ship. It's cool. It's fun to fly. Kudo's to the ship design team for this one.

    Its a good ship, but its not that little. It seems to be the same size as a Ghemor, if you turn it around, just with a shorter tail.

    I wish we could have some actual skins for it, though, Romulan or Klingon ones, besides the ugly default skin.

    The new raider plays great. :)

    Just flew it 5 mins to unlock the trait for my torp boat.

    With a command station and the super flexible boff layout I can a lot of players having fun with it.

    I'm having allot of fun with it. Collected allot of anti-proton consoles for the Khitomer and it's nice to have a cannon boat to go with the AP beam boat.

    I am, in all honesty, very impressed with the Temer.

    Shame it highlights just how bad the "legendary" B'rel is.

    TBH I'm pretty disappointed with it.

    First off, it's about the worst ship for "Space Barbie Online". It has no window options, no bridge/interior options, no hull texture/skin options, no ship part options, there's zero customization to it at all.

    Second, they made it a 5/1, and I'm pretty sure that's intentional because no 'free' ship can ever match up to a zstore ship, otherwise why would we buy anything from the zstore?

    The starship mastery trait is decently useful for scitorp or torpedo boat builds, so I'll definitely unlock that, but otherwise it's a wholly unremarkable ship.

    Personally I'm very much enjoying it - best event ship since the Bajoran Interceptor in my view.

    Only downside is the lack of visual customisation options, but I just stuck my S31 vanity shield on it and it looks awesome, plus it fits the 'stealth bomber' theme I'm going for perfectly.

    Actually you are completely wrong; this is the first non-Lobi/promo/lockbox Raider with 5/1. All C-Store Raiders are 4/2. The hull is the same as a promo raider and one of the lockbox raiders, the shield is higher than any lobi/lockbox/promo raider, and it has an Enhanced Battle Cloak, which is better than any lobi/lockbox/promo raider. The only bit that really stops it being lobi/lockbox/promo/legendary tier is only having a single specialisation seat and not turning quite as good as other raiders.

    There are reasons why people have been saying that the Temer makes the Legendary B'rel dead on arrival.

    ^ This, not sure why Telbasta thinks 5/1/1 on a raider with improved raider flanking is bad, the only thing I know of coming in better is the Maquis because of its MW console slot, but vs cstore ships the Temer is punching way above it's weight

    I love the bright Alliance colors, so I haven't yet changed it. But I'm also fond of the Platinum shield.

    That said, yeah I wish we had more customization for Event ships.

    Ran a GtGA with 3 Raiders yesterday. I remember randoming with a full 5 team of Alliance Battlecruisers last year so I wonder how long before I see 5 Temers.

    I love this ship enough that it will be the first event ship that I plan to use full time on one of my alts. Usually I just take them out for a spin to see what they're like or fly them long enough to unlock the trait and then it's off to drydock or deletion.

    They seem to be knocking it out of the park with the alliance ships as I almost chose to use the Khitomer full time on an alt last year.

    Finally, just to add, kudos on the wing animation. I love the way they curve up in combat to give the Temer a more T'varo/Malem feel.

    I know right? You have that Klingon feel with the variable geometry wings but with a Romulan upswing.

    Hoping they do a Dreadnought next year or a fed/rom science vessel.

    I'll get mine tomorrow since I skipped the first day. And only got one point for one day on one acct, so she'll get hers on wed.
    Now a LTS and loving it.

    Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.

    id like the option to pay for the ship skills - in EC or dil, not real cash...

    i dont like swapping out a ship just to fly something i dislike to get the skill. i think only two, maybe three toons, on my account have flown other ships to get certain skills. and trust me, thats not many ships as i dont really buy many.

    Getting mine today. Very excited, though I doubt it will replace my D4x on my KDF main. The trait will be nice with my EBC SciTorp boat though.

    This ship is definitely one of the 'top dogs' in the Raider Category.. 5/1/1 is a great arrangement for a Raider and I was surprised to see they gave us that.

    I do however agree with being disappointed by the complete lack of customization. Not even a single alternate material to pick from? Ouch..

    I really wanted to make this thing look as 'Klingon' as possible.. but unless there is a KDF style Shield that I don't know about, that's sadly impossible. :disappointed:

    The actual ship though is fantastic.
