One of the problems with Discovery Season 3 and Season 4 is the lack of First Contacts. The entire galaxy has already been completely discovered since before the Burn. There is no excitement meeting a newly discovered alien race since they have already been discovered by the Federation. It is just meeting old acquaintances.

Remans, we never see them with the Ni'Var Romulans in discovery and TNG Klingons hopefully the DSC versions evolved like STO suggests.

To be honest...I don’t want to see any of that. Seems like retreading the same old stuff. Bring on new aliens and new allies and new threats.
    Your pain runs deep.
Let us explore it... together. Each man hides a secret pain. It must be exposed and reckoned with. It must be dragged from the darkness and forced into the light. Share your pain. Share your pain with me... and gain strength from the sharing.

I don't think Kurtzman and crew know (or even like) traditional Star Trek well enough to pull off revisiting the stuff from it without it feeling awkward, hokey, and just hilariously wrong. They are better off just making oblique references and a prop or two like they have mostly been doing so far.

A good example of that misunderstanding the original is the "male Talosians" nonsense. The actresses in The Cage WERE playing male Talosians, just like Peter Pan is often played by a petite actress on the stage because they are the the right height and have softer features like a male teen as opposed to a male adult. The Talosians were actually a nod to the Grays in UFO mythology but done in a way that did not look like a B-movie rubber suit monster.

Maybe they can do justice to the Gorn, their appearance seem to be getting worst and worst, just update the TOS look like STO and don't give us ugly TRIBBLE CGI lizards like DS9 and ENT.

There were no Gorn in DS9, and Kirk’s fight with the Gorn was the only reference to Gorn in dialogue—during “Trials and Tribblations.”

There is a Kelvinverse Gorn that was planned to hang out with Nero in Rura Penthe. But of course none of those scenes made it in the film.

Glad they didn't go with JJ- Trek version, seemed like they were trying to distance JJ-Trek from the furry crowd, first the JJ-Caitians and now this monstrosity.

Voyager J looks even worse than the Intrepid class one, which probably means it will be featured a lot the way DSC does things.

At least it looks better than the Enterprise J, I still can't get behind the Enterprise J design with it's ugly oval saucer and very thin nacelles.
