Easiest place to grind melee kills?

Okay, one thing that really bugs me on this recruitment event is the scaling in requirements for the kill missions, starting off at 1, 10, 50, 100, but then for some bizarre reason, it goes up by a ridiculous amount: 500, 1000, 2500, seriously, how am I meant to grind out 500 and 1000 melee kills in any decent time, I already have a main KDF character I want to get the weapon for, but 1000 kills for the faction unlock is ridiculously high.

Does anyone know where the best place is to grind out these melee kills quickly?

    I just did some of the early Nimbus III quests, and there were plenty of opportunities for melee kills - the scorpions & worms in the desert, an endless supply of Orion pirates in the mountain base, the arena & bar patrons when going after Hassan... I hit 1000 kills during those. (having done the storyline up into Romulan Mystery/Frozen, plus one Event mission)

    Of course, it helps to have a better weapon than the Recruit bat'leth. The Dual Nanopulse Mek'leths (from one of the recent story quests The Kitomer Discord, it's one of the two older ones listed for Anniversary event credit) will speed things up a lot.

    Defera might also be a viable location. Lack of BOffs to kill steal, Borg that just walk to you rather than try and stay out of melee range...

    I believe its in the Klingon Civil War arc. The mission is called Partisans.
