Cardassian Rifle/pistol

questeriusquesterius Member Posts: 8,485 Arc User
Dear devs,

Can you add obtainable cardassian rifles/pistols to the inventory. My Role playing cardassian characters will be most grateful.
Either lobi, weapon pack or mission reward is fine.

Only request is to make the damage type spiral wave disruptor.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I'm not opposed to more ground weapons. Then again... I'm a bit of a weapons collector in game, and my bank is feeling it. lol

Also would like some 22nd Century ground weapons to go with the Enterprise era uniforms.

I still want the musket that temporarily killed Wesley, the Mintakan bow, Picard's flute and Worf's purple space-bazooka. And that crossbow Picard used when the Enterprise was getting a carwash.

Actual cardassian ground-gear would of course be great, too.

I'd love to see Andorian phaser ground weapons, not least in order to see how they'd be balanced when Andorians famously refuse to build a "stun" setting in.

I'm also surprised that the Andorian ushaan-tor dueling hatchet hasn't made an appearance as a winter event weapon yet. It was historically an ice climber's tool, for pity's sake.

Nice idea! It would be nice, especially when within canon, that any playable species &/or BOFFs we can acquire would come with an upgrade able ground weapon or there's in in-game resource where we could get that type of playable species &/or BOFF's canon weapon style.

The first example that pops into my head, since I recently acquired it for another one of my characters is that Voth Science BOFF. It comes with a Voth ground weapon but is Common & non upgrade able. Maybe there's a gamble lock box Voth ground weapon?

    Those actually exist:

The could even reuse a lot of the animations for the Furiadon Fangs too.
Hell... they even HAVE the model as they did appear in a cutscene during the Discovery era mission where you're stranded on that ice planet after Priors World with Captain Lorca.

My Voth BOFF came with an Uncommon (green) weapon. Still not upgradeable.
Now a LTS and loving it.

There's a complete array of Voth-weapons though, it came with their lockbox. The pistols are included.

I'll have to look into that. I like to give my BOFFs their own weapons when they're like Nelen Exil

You should try getting them from Infinity-weapon-boxes though, on the exchange they are fairly expensive now due to low demand and supply - as these are really old (still decent AP-weapons however).

Still waiting for that weapon to be upgradable on Nelen Exil.

I don't consider 2-3m fairly expensive. now 10m would get into pricey for me. Looks like I'll be looking for keys and more pistols on the exchange, just in case they get pricey while I'm looking for my mains.

I'd love to see each races specific weapons. I would pay for a pack of good weapons from the shows. Not the crappy one they had years ago.

Cardassian Spiral Wave ground weapons would be great. Still not sure why they haven't introduced them yet, but I hope they do in the future. They are really quite a nice looking piece of hardware, and the fact they already have models for them does bode well for a hopeful appearance in the future.

Well... technically we have some already, but that's depending on which era you're looking at and what you're looking for in particular.
    We have
    • Kelvin Timeline pistols and Rifles for both Fed and Klingon (lockbox)
    • Discovery era Fed pistols and rifles
    • a TNG Type 3 rifle as a mission reward
    • Bajoran pistol and rifle (DS9 C-Store pack)
    • TOS Fed Pistol, Fed Rifle, Klingon pistol as mission rewards
    • TOS pistols and rifles from K-13 Fleet Holding
    • TMP era phaser pistols (ST5/6 from lockbox, ST2 from Lobi)
    • Voyager's Fork Rifle (Delta Rep)

Voth-pistols are 25m on the exchange. I was being serious when I said "low supply" ;)
Sniper-rifles are really cheap tho (because the other ground-weapons are cooler).

The Voth-weapons were one of the first lockbox-weapons actually based on a faction. They're so old barely anybody opens boxes for them anymore of course, so the price on the exchange is fairly high.

For cardassian pistols and rifles they had a REALLY good opportunity when ViL went live. Could have squeezed them in as an addition to playable cardassian race.

    Supply and demand.
Still, the prices for Voth weapons on the exchange is surprising since they're essentially a defensive weapon (lower energy damage output from opponents) in an arena which promotes DPS.

Well... the Voth AP caters to Voth Combat Doctrine, which emphesizes defense over offense. So from a thematic standpoint it makes sense.

Fully upgraded, and with the AP-damage-bonus from the competitive ground-set they are actually fairly strong, the compression-pistols and high-densitiy-rifles do hurt a lot.

Also the Voth weapons are rather unique in that they are all double barreled, and acutally use both barrels at the same time.

+1 for Cardassian ground gear; I originally expected to have it around after "The Search", but ViL 2.0 has to wait a bit longer for DIS, I suppose. Cardassian transporter & UI FX would be a big plus, as well. I'd absolutely roll one and buy the assorted themed items, with those three additional things. Training for remobilization amongst Khitomer Alliance forces is a good enough RP hook for me to watch this space. o:)
