Game is not playable in current state

There has been a type of "micro lag" the past few days making the game unplayable. It is like a stuttering that just burns the eyes.

Anybody experiencing this?

On which platform? I play on PC and have only had the usual rubberbanding every so often, but that's been happening for a long while now. I did not see anything new or stuttering.

On what platform, playing what content?

Have you changed anything in your hardware or settings? Have you installed anything new, like Riot's rootkit for Valorant?

I've had my ship 'bouncing' up and down very slightly in sector space... makes me feel a little space sick. PC btw.

PC, nothing has been changed, I still get the lag and rubberbanding from the old servers but sometimes I get this MICRO LAG in the form of very fast stuttering... it is the best and only way i could explain it, instead of one big giant rubberband the game plays in a constant state of stutter...

mopstly happens in Ker'rat but the past few days it is the entire game for me... other games on the internet work fine of course, i know the problem is with the game servers so I am not asking for a solution because I know what the solution is, i am just asking if other people are experiencing this.

While I do not doubt such effects could be server related, can I ask where the confirmation was attained? Has Cryptic commented on a problem going on now? You say it has been happening in the whole game for days for you, but I have not experienced it yet, so maybe there is some additional trigger to cause it?

If I had seen anything I would have written it off to having to upgrade to windblows 10.

    Im sorry @blackshap9#1072

But you are claiming a Cryptic employee "confirmed" this issue is caused by lag.

Im sorry, you are either lying or alluding to a private conversation you had with a cryptic employee. Who may or may not be authorized to officially speak on behalf of Cryptic.

@darkbladejk just mentioning you in this post as I am not sure how close this might hit to the forum rules.

@blackshap9#1072 and who exactly is this "source" of yours confirming an issue? you may PM the name to me so as you're not naming them in the public part of the forum here.

I don't even know how anyone would notice 'micro lag' to begin with. I would think that would be buried deep in the 'mega lag' we already have.

I have come to assume rubber-banding and lag is a feature. It's consistency assures me the game is running to standard.
    Definitely not an Arc User.

Maybe my connection just powers thru it, but I've not noticed any unplayable lag, sure there's a occational rubberbanding especially in busy zones but nothing in scale of "reduced to single FPS" or "several seconds of wait for everything" that others are claiming to experience so it seems highly unlikely that it would be in Cryptic's servers since shouldn't everyone be suffering not just some people.

apparently some people have the ability to notice minor things others don't

like with gopher's recent beginner's guide to modding fallout new vegas video series on youtube, the first video mentions a mod called new vegas tick fix which is meant to fix micro-stutters with certain character movements or something - he showed a before and after of the supposed micro-stutter...well, i didn't notice any difference in when i was watching it, and he even said directly in the video not everyone notices it

This game is crazy inconsistent in performance. Some days it's nice and smooth, other days it's a slide show. As it is now, I just log on, do my daily and see how the server is doing. If things are smooth, I play more, if not.. I just play something else. Can't even narrow it down to a map or a time.. it's just random for me. Sometimes it's the smoothest game I can play.. other times it's a train wreck. I have just learned to accept this as the 'new normal' for this game and take it day by day.

At this case I just accept it as a general difficulty increase.
The hilarious thing is I play another MMO which is known to be lag central but I never have issues there unless there's a serverwide burndown.

I'm wondering if this supposed "micro-lag" is really the camera collision bounce you can sometimes get. I've had it happen all over and was able to recreate it in the Phoenix Rocket event by standing facing away from the rocket workbench and putting the camera where it hits that workbench. At the right angle, the camera does a rapid bounce.

If so, this is related to neither lag nor rubberbanding. and while it may be said to be a game engine thing, it is not likely to be tied to server performance.

As unpleasant as it may be, sometimes admission that these problems could have something to do with our individual potatoes can be helpful. Remember, most games are bespoke in one way or another. Memory is accessed differently, etc... Seeking community affirmation on these boards is mostly pointless.

What's up?! ARC takes literally ten minutes to even start up, then takes for ever to try and log me in. The game, in its current state, is not just unplayable, but unreachable. :(

Not experiencing this myself. The game appears to be completely playable in it's current state.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

Have not seen this either. The only thing I've noticed for almost two weeks is a strange visual anomaly in the Rocket TFO. About eight to ten seconds after the Rockets take off there is a woosh from behind the pad to the trees in front of the pad. It is wide and reminds me of The Flash zooming by.

It is like those trees are relocating from behind to their actual location at Mach 10.

The game suffers from rubberbanding/stalls and freezes/Lag and misfiring powers where they simply don't fire or they fire but Hulk Hogan no sell the effect because the game hit you with a rubberband.

Best evidence of potential micro-lag is the Dyson Battlezone and the capture point with the generator going along the rail. It will stutter/freeze/lag/rubberband as it goes long.

We have told Cryptic on every form of media they use there are server issues and the only thing I can remember them officially doing is reducing the "feeling" of lag by awarding XP on certain maps after warp out in a patch and opening a thread on this forum for feedback which although that thread was setup in Dec 2019 I know the CM was asking for information back in Oct 2019

Is the game unplayable I can only speak for myself and say no it is not but it is highly frustrating and annoying after 9 years of playing the game to see its performance in such a sorry state. A sorry state that has been ongoing for 18 or more months.

Dyson BZ feels like I'm watching a dvd and someone is messing around with the remote hitting pause/play/pause/rewind/play/rewind/play

Hello rubber banding my old friend, time to bounce around the battlezone again, where are all my bug reports going?, out of love with this game I am falling, As Cryptic fail to acknowledge a problem exists, Shakes an angry fist, And from Support all I'm hearing are the sounds of silence.

I have seen that one too. To me it looks more like that visual glitch that a kit (forget which one) could cause in Pahvo ground TFO. Not sure if they ever fixed that, been a while since I played that TFO.

Lol wish I hadn't had said anything. Closed game and resetting my Modern as Dyson Battlezone was so laggy and rubberbandy that it was close to a slideshow. Doubt it will make any difference as this issue is 100% with Cryptic's ISP or Cryptic themselves. 1000% Convinced about that.

Same... I think it's because of the influx of accounts logging in for the free lobi. It's crashing constantly now and lagging when I play tfos.

The 200 Lobi Bundle cost in Ornaments is about the same as the cost of the Breen Outfit when it was availible in the Winter Store. Unfortunately, when they placed the Breen Outfit into the Lobi Store they made it a 300 Lobi cost item instead of the normal 200 Lobi Outfit cost. (MACO is also high priced at 300).
