Server just crashed

Just about completed the daily Event, Did not get a chance to collect the reward when the Server went down.

WHY??!!!

    Okay, now it is back up, down for just over 5 mins hmm shorter than I thought

    It tells me the server is up and gets to the point where I can see all my characters. But when I try to log in, it tells me the log in server is disconnected and tells me to press the useless support button

    Pretty much the same for us all and of course nothing from Cryptic/PWE...makes me wonder what their inept community managers actually do!

    No mention of service being down on social media seems to suggest either this is a localized issue or everyone at cryptic went home for the day lol.

    It seems localized to So Cal and perhaps AT&T. There are a number of sites I timeout trying to connect to, and a tracert to them times out after the 3rd or 4th hop. I can get to these same sites if I go through my cellphone carrier (Verizon); so there's probably a router or group of routers having issues somewhere.

    I tried everything from going onto the Google public DNS servers, etc. with no joy, the same sites were unreachable with those too.

    Unfortunately AT&T tech support seems to close at 10:00 PM PST so I'm sol on trying to speak to a live person and see if they are aware of certain routing issues.

    I don't think (unfortunately) my issue is caused by something on Cryptic's end directly :(

    One comment that caught my eye (but there are plenty more too):
    @CXiminez @ATT @OmiChavez_ Just spoke with AT&T tech rep. She said CA customers experiencing network outage. Can take up to 24 hours. Boooo I can use my Tmobile no problem

    and yep, same for me - on the Verizon network on my cell phone, I can get to sites I currently CAN'T get to on my home AT&T setup.

    Kinda pissed that AT&T of course is claiming "no issues" in my location on THEIR website. They're usually pretty good which is why I haven't switched, but hey I work in IT myself and these things happen. Just sucks when one of the service is a particular MMO I enjoy.
