Or even as an added feature to mudds market. They should bring back the various old vanities that you cant get anymore and put them in the store to buy for zen. I know I've been running around the last few days trying to track down 2 different vanities and no one has them, and In the process I've ran across several other people facing the same issue. Lockboxes get super rare after a cirtain point. As do vanities. And it's not so much about the exchange price as it is about them even still existing. Though half a billion EC for a vanity you cant even preview is moronic imo, but that's besides the poin. Just let us buy the things outright.

Dunno what platform or event your playing m8, but there are no vanities is the Phoenix lock box.
I'll give you an example. The Tzenkethi vanity. Only available from Tzenkethi lock box. Which almost dont exist anymore

The Vanity shields...
They can still be obtained through the Infinity Box. If you get a weapons box that gives you a choice of what kind to get, the corresponding Vanity Shield is possible if you pick the appropriate weapons box. So if you pick a box of the Tzenkethi Tetryon, The Tzenkethi Vanity Shield will have a chance to drop instead of a weapon, just like when the actual lockbox was available.
Its just that the playerbase isn't really going after those, hence the vanity shields being more rare than usual. Most players are going for more recent stuff probably.

Doesn't really belong in the store but the ship "tailor" would benefit from having a list of vanity colourisations even if it only said where to get them.
Gamblebox vanities should be a basic reward instead of the usual junk padding items and not buried under the a chance of a chance.
There were ship cosmetics way back in the day like nacelle fins and belly armour but those are a dim and distant memory that I think were for a ship that got removed.
I agree, it is a nonsense; why I would like to open thousand of weapon boxes for a ridiculous tiny chance of having 1 of those vanity shields.
Again, a strange cryptic's idea that I don't understand.

Actually I believe they were recycled for the old T5 Fleet ships. As C-Store they didn't really sell well, but they got new life with the introduction of Fleet level ships. You get the T5 Fleet Assault Cruiser, you gain access to the Imperial parts that were once C-Store. Yea its only for that character, but the parts still exist for many of those Fleet ships.

Yeah but what happens when a specific lock box runs out? And they fail to realize the logic that most people are not going to spend copulous amounts of money to try and get a vanity that's years old. Vs if they put some of the more aged ones in the store, they could garuntee a profit. Especially if they threw in event specific vanities alongside them.
Also it would allow for an expansion of vanity shields aswell. Could start adding different kinds of vanities for various small things.

I think you missed what I said earlier. EVERYTHING from an old, no longer in circulation lockbox gets put into the Infinity Lockbox. That includes the weapons boxes that have the chance at a vanity shield. May not be guaranteed like a C-Store purchase, but they still exist. Supply just becomes a problem if people aren't opening Infinity Boxes for the particular thing you're looking for.
However... they still exist and are still ubtainable. The issue is more of a player one than an availability one. Themed items are more accessable when the themed lockbox is the primary. Once it cycles out and the stuff is in the Infinity Box, its dependant on players actually picking those particular options.

well, i'm sad for them as I stopped opening boxes, and I also stopped using real money for keys or buy the other gamble box. their commercial technique had the opposite effect from that expected; weariness didn't make me spend more.
Lockboxes would be a better proposition if they didn't pad them out with stuff that doesn't come close to the value of a key such as the 500 rep mark boosters or yet more R&D mats, which endeavours spam you with due to a bad RNG reward setup and even have their own gamblebox.

I though you were talking about vanity pets, did not realize you were talking about vanity shields since it was not clear in your post. Thanks.
> When you reach lvl 6 in reps, you get the option to slot a vanity shield project for 100 marks.
Apparently your misunderstanding aswell. Lockbox and event vanities. Not the rep vanities
Again, a strange cryptic's idea that I don't understand.
btw, the tzenkheti shield is really ugly, bought it at a ridiculous price (sometimes i make stupid choices ) and I was disappointed.
