What is the Arc Client?
Install Arc

Steam version question

Planning to reinstall the game on a new PC. I originally played via using my install discs from launch and just updating the client. However, I don't have access to those currently but I do have steam on this new PC.

If I install via steam can I access my old account or does it create whole new "steam only" STO account? Could I use steam wallet to charge my zen or would I still need to use the site here?

Steam is just the portal to the launcher, and really has no benefit towards the game. Google "startrekonline.exe" and you should be able to find that file, which is the actual original launcher to the game that Steam/Arc use.

As for your old account, if you still have the correct details, you'll get access to the account.

It's also better to buy Zen from the Charge page here, as Steam doesn't get the bonuses that Arc's site gives.

Star Trek Online on the PC is totally the same no matter where you get it.

It's only PlayStation and Xbox that have their own servers.

The only difference actually.. Is if you use the ARC Client.. Like, download the game directly from this website.

Then you get 500 ZEN monthly and you unlock the Khan outfit and hair!

No you don't get the monthly Zen, that is LTS only.

Yea. The monthy Zen is LTS only. You do get the Khan outfit from logging in through ARC. I have both Steam and ARC. Only have ARC for easy promo code redemption. I log in via Steam.
