Servers are down before official maint. time and now can't finish the Elachi Event

Just great, just great. I had only 45 points left to earn on my alternate toon. Since the servers weren't going offline till 7am, I had plenty of time. I started trying to sign in at 6am and it says can't connect to login server. I even tried another computer on a different router and now it shows the servers are down.

IF I WASTED MY TIME over the last 2 weeks or whatever earning the ship and then you cut the servers off 1 hour early and keeping me from earning the Elachi ship, you NEED, not better, but NEED to extend the event 1 day so people like me can earn the Elachi vessel that because you either decided to turn servers off 1 hour early or let them crash and didn't restart them, live up to the obligations that you expect players to do in order to earn things. I am not paying Zen to buy out the last 45 points, if one could even do that when you restart the servers later this morning. This is your mistake or PG&E's and if you are a responsible company you will give players another day to complete the event to earn the ship or if they were already in the process of finishing the project in regards to the Dil rewards, they also need that chance.

PLEASE (sorry for using all caps but I am furious) extend the event by one day.

    You had 30 days to do the event.

    Yes, same here. I just needed to finish 1 more run and I had to wait until 1 hour before 12PM Central to finish. Why can't they just wait until the stated time. Does their maintenance personal lack a watch or cant tell time??

    Yes, I just did. I did not get any more credits so I maxed out at 97% discount before the maintence. Still angry but I was able to buy my ship. Now seeing if I can still get a phoenix pack.

    Like guy above said. Play now before the last hour ends and you may not be able to buy ship at Zen discount

    That's why I didn't even get close to completing it. The rewards weren't worth the sheer torture. Some day I might have a lot of extra cash and I'll do the buy out, but even that is doubtful.

    If you are already tired of the grind events perhaps you are playing something else and just checked back in and the event had already started. Another reason for not having the time is real life (i.e. a family member in the hospital takes 1st period over Star Trek Online). Another factor out of one's control is you Broadband provider having an outage that will be restored after you have gone to sleep (so should I stay up, knock my sleep schedule aside - I assume everyone wants at least 8 hours of sleep per day - and yes a true STO diehard doesn't need sleep, tell that to the boss when you end up buying stem bolts instead of entertainment provisions). Other situations like a computer failure, connection issues, and way too many things to list could also have prevented you from completion before the last day.

    If the game says it will run till 10am yet they schedule maint. for 730am - 10am on that last day, then they need to correct that issue before they start the event and note that it will end at 730am (remember this is only an example). Also some people have figured which days they can or can not play and they are using that 30th day as their last day to collect the # of whatever for the reward. I am sure many people will do this for all events that are spread over a long period of time.
