Camera view for Carriers in combat?

ahlianaahliana Member Posts: 13 Arc User
I bought my first carrier at lvl 40 (bought it as my ship option given to me, im a FTP). All of my other ships I would set to chase camera, for the most part to view my target so I could make sure torpedoes were fired at them once the victim was in the firing arc. I could set my view back so I could see my ship and everything in front of me and so in a 90 degree or better arc. Got my carrier and in normal space, it works like all the other ships did. In combat, both TFO and on a mission, I seeing the rear of my ship in my face and have to peer around it to see anything. So in TFO I spend most of my time, spinning and tab targeting to be able to shoot anything. I cant get the camera to back up like I can in normal space or my other ships. Is this just a flaw with the carriers? Or with the Vo'Quv Carrier I got?

Thank you for any help and assistance.

Addition. Was doing some TFO and I noticed that my camera was on Follow target even after I set it for chase position. It would it having been chosed as Chase but wouldn't be. Whether I did this in battle or not. It would still be in Follow Target. When I (in TFO) then set it for chase position, it stayed there... until the next TFO. Hope this helps some.

A new update. Reached 61 Klingon Dahar Master and picked the Kar'Fi carrier. Again, in normal space or in orbit of Qo'nos its fine. But as soon as I enter a mission space or TFO, im looking at the rear or side of my ship and can NOT back my camera away making it VERY hard to target my enemies. That is now 2 ships, that to me, are unusable. Or VERY limited in effectiveness.

I did try changing my screen resolution and my display mode, didn't help but I tried. Oh well.

Does this problem happen with other carriers besides the Vo'quv and the Kar'Fi Carriers?

That must be a bug of some sort, I do not have my Vo'quv ready to test but the scroll wheel works normally on my Kar'Fi so it is not a universal problem. It would probably be a good idea to open a ticket on it just in case no one else has.

I worked around it by using the default keys of Home and End to move camera in and out. Have to do this each time I zone, but it is a workaround in case anyone else is having this problem.
