It seems to me that ground combat is been ignored nowdays and left to ruin ,I watched some videos of ground from about 2 years ago and it was way better ,fast ,more responcive so on. Its current state is full of glitches and animation issues that are left unfixed as ground is seen as low priority to the devs to fix as space combat relate combat is where the money is made, I understand that but as someone who loves ground combat as much as space its sad to see it slowly fall appart,I hope one day it gets a look at. Anyone else feel the same way?
I have seen this request before and I am still confused.
Ground combat to me is still fun, fast and responsive.. at least on the PC. I have heard that it's highly unpleasant on the console version.. is that what we're talking about here?
My Fleet mates and I often do ground combat because it's always less laggy then space so I am not sure I understand the problem. What specifically is wrong with ground combat in STO?

Ground on Console is better on Console than on PC by virtue of auto-triggers, but there is barely any difference between the platforms. I play on both, and I also don't get the lag or rubberbanding, despite being in the UK (must be that American infrastructure...lol).
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
Dual pistols 2nd firing animation is broken, input lag for me anyway ,changed the wielrding sword aniamtion for the worse, whenever u use a skill u put in the unarmed state from shooting mode are just a few ,some are cosmetic but they used to be perfect. This stuff normally happens when fixing one thing and another gets broken, however nothing gets done about it nowdays no matter how many tickets i open or talk about in bug dept.
Ground combat is mostly alright as long as you aren't playing something with:
1. Sniper Enemies. TRIBBLE snipers. And I hope the dev who decided to buff sniper npcs stubs his toe very badly and it causes him much distress. Miner Instabilities went from one of my favorite STFs on Elite to one of my most hated in only 1 night because some dev thought that sniper npcs needed an insane buff. Grenades are also pretty bad but not nearly as terrible as snipers.
2. Borg. The borg adaptation mechanic is just a nuisance now. I highly doubt that after 40 years of technology advancing they wouldn't build in automatic remodulaters into energy weapons on the off chance that borg pop up.
3. Hurq and Nakuhl. These 2 species are even more annoying than the borg to fight, you have to deal with either constant disables or EVERY SINGLE enemy making a duplicate of itself and becoming immune to damage while still dealing high damage. Its just a terrible mechanic.
other than these 3 I don't have much issues. Animations may be buggy and some abilities are worthless or have too high of a cooldown but overall I find it enjoyable.
I have noticed a few graphic bugs in ground combat in the last year or so. My weapon seems to vanish visually whenever using certain abilities. I'll be running around killing stuff, look back and my bridge officers and I are weaponless. Nothing that prevents gameplay though, just annoying visual bugs.

I'm not even sure that's a bug. You see the weapon any time you're firing it. It disappears only when you're doing something else. Then it comes back any time you use it.
Works the same as with their Ships. Kill the phoney first.

Ah yes, all my criticism of the nakuhl is now completely invalid I'm just playing the game wrong and I want it to be too easy Thank you. *sarcasm off*
It's not a difficulty thing, it's an annoyance. When you're fighting 20 nakuhl and every single one has a duplicate and those duplicates tend to wander off behind walls and such it's too much trouble to have to track down every single one. There needs to be a timer for how long the duplicate lasts instead of them just lasting until they die.

I would expect there is one, though I've never waited to find out. The player versions definitely have time limits.
However, it's nonetheless far faster and more convenient to "track down" the distortion anyway, especially as it's obviously labeled and its position visibly pointed to with a line from the original. Bah, easy mode.

Easy now.. I was simply attempting to clarify since I didn't understand the issue.
I am not making any commentary on anyones skill level, mine or anyone elses. I don't have the problem you have so I guess that's why I don't get it. The only place I commonly see the Na'Kuhl is in the Miners Instability queue and on Elite.. yeah, they can be tough. Usually though, a few well place AOE's take them down pretty quick. I have not had problems with the Duplicates getting suck in areas where they can't be killed. Guess I have been lucky.

Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"

Personally, I hate the ground combat, because it is just as boring as the space combat. All you do is target and spam skills and fire buttons. Then sometimes you might need to scan or interact with something. But, I do die more on ground, which means I need to respawn more.
But, there isn't really much they can do about the combat on ground. It is a copy of space, with a few restrictions. Not even sure the game engine can handle two completely different combat types.
As for the cosmetic glitches/bugs, they don't bother me unless they interfere with being able to complete the mission. I usually laugh at the cosmetic bugs, then keep going.
I do admit that I love the summer event. It is the only event map that doesn't have any fighting at all. I would love to see a mission where you use a jetpack to fly around, and collect something, or do something to complete a task. And not have to fight at all. And if they are worried about players seeing the edges of the map, they can do a small map area like usual, but have a large build/tower where you need to fly around to do things.
A Step Between Stars was a good touch on this with the space suits. Always wished they did more with those suits. But it was like a really great idea, that after one time, they just gave up on. Sad really.

Sorry Sea, that was more directed at Echatty. And it's more just annoying. And the whole duplicates lasting forever doesn't help. It's just a situation that doesn't need to exist, it's not really difficult, just tedious.
and apparently ambush + agony field generator can wreck the TRIBBLE out of na'kuhl on MINE...along with everything else
There are a few tricks that work, yes.. that being one of them.
Flare mortar + Agony field.
flare mortar + Regular mortar.
Orbital Strike
Various bombardments
Mines, mines and transphasic bombs
Drones & turrets
.. to name a few.
Honorable mention: Security Escort with grenades.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

No worries man.
I agree with the general principal of your suggestion. No power should last permanently, the duplicates should expire at some point if not killed.

I had assumed from this post you were treating me like I was dumb and that I shouldn't be making a comment like I did, due to the obvious nature of the information.

Anytime I offer up a suggestion like that, it's never to insinuate someone might be stupid. That is the furthest thing from my mind.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.
TBH, I have had it some times that I explained something to other players which I considered entirely obvious and it was entirely new and revealing to them. And it probably happened the other way round but I like to forget about my own mistakes.
My mother was an epohh and my father smelled of tulaberries
that weapon disserpearing bug is one that irratatess me the most ,u in armed state you use a skill and your weapon disserpears putting u you in unarmed state.fire you weapon and it magically appears ,it looks really awful . Never used to be like this ,charater used to hold their weapon up and axcess the holo control panel then put the weapon down to continue firing . Yes its cosmetic (untill your team dont rearm themselfs),Personally think this stuff is important.

This is true. Shoot the duplicates first, then the real ship is no longer immune.
