Here is a review I found on YouTube about STO and it is rather to the point and honest and areas the company needs fix.

Adding in here the fact of a lack of ships for the Romulans and Klingons is also wearing on the player base, the bugs, the micro factions that can be good if effort was actually put into it and time given and thought put in it. That can make the game even better kinda tired of every faction being forced to be Federation or Klingon characters, defeats the point of making theme in the first place. Just make a Federation and or Klingon character instead.

Cryptic also has to be careful not to accidentially recreate KDF and Romulan designs from other games as well.
Not enough people are buying Romulan ships.
Not enough people are buying KDF store items.
Not enough people are buying costumes, ship interiors, -whatever else you like that they aren't doing-
People can talk all they want about how they, their friends, their fleet would open their wallets for more X, but Cryptic knows how much X has sold in the past.
If enough had been buying them, Cryptic would make enough profit to keep creating them.
People can talk all they want about preferring subscriptions to microtransactions, but not enough people are subscribing to much of anything except WoW to support that. What keeps the lights on are lock boxes, R & D packs, and C-Store Federation ship sales.
I have 3 KDF (none are farmers), 3 Romulan, 1 Jem'Hadar captains but I can accept reality that the majority will pay for Federation items first, and everything else as an afterthought.
You are massssssssively wrong. There is NO lack of ships for the Roms and KDF. There is a vast plethora of ships available. Just because they don't have the same number, does not mean there is a lack of ships.
However, in canon, ONLY the Federation makes different ships for different purposes. The Romulans are still recovering from a Supernova which decimated their population, and the KDF only stick with what works for them.
And finally....an review that has 'Does it suck' does not warrant my attention, nor merit. It screams of trolling.
If it wasn't for the addition to XBOX/Playstation this game could have followed maintenance mode as SWTOR is heading these days. There is no end game progression and winter/summer events have been virtually unchanged since inception (same old boring content).
This is an MMO (if you still want to call it that) that relies on what was built on the past and not really looking forward. AoY, ViL and DISCO were a joke in terms of content and can't even remotely compared to LoR or even DR.
Yes, they added some minimum numbers of KDF/Rommie ships just because some of us brought to the light.
I still play STO since it's a decent place to hang out in fleets but besides grinding incessantly till your eyes bleed there is not much infused into player quality of life as once it did in past years.

No you are wrong. You mysteriously omit the top tier of ships to attempt to justify your argument! Literally all of the T1-T4 ships are canon ships, which backup my point! The T5 & T6 ships are mostly Cryptic made, and each faction has a vast array of choices! And since T1-T4 ships are discarded faster than toilet paper, they don't really matter except for Admiralty, of which Roms can use either faction on top of their own, so please stop misrepresenting 'lack of choice'.
Here's a breakdown I did last January....

There's no 'lack of choice'. Only less ships, but it's still a diverse choice for all. Only JH's have a 'lack of choice', but again, canon reasons, if it works, you don't need something new.
Edit: Since that original analysis, Roms gained access to most T5 and T6 ships too. In short, Roms have SUPERIOR choice than even Feds have.

And he obviously has an issue with his ship build as well.

Since you refuse to use anything of a sorry I was wrong here are all the ships I can find that are actually faction based and not some cross faction thing that all have.
Federation 206 ships for the federation faction
Klingons 133 ships for the Klingons faction wait you theory of equal number of ships already blown apart lets see the Romulans
Romulans 96
Wait I know you will bring this excuse up so lets count all the non Faction like the Jem Hadr Cardassian cross faction ship in on it as I know you will use that excuse to justify the lack of ships.
Jem Hadar 14
Cross Faction 111 so if we add these to the original faction ships
Federation 331
Klingon 258
Romulan 221
Wait I was right wait me be right cause I actually counted theme on a neutral base and yet my original claim was justify ohhhh wait does that make me right yes it does, so yes the lack of ships for the Klingons and the Romulans are lacking let show that difference in total
Klingon 73 difference
Romulans 110 Difference to Federation and 37 difference to the Klingons
wow I was right also this is what I used as it has all the ships in game available.https://sto.gamepedia.com/Playable_starship Wait a direct source to the number of ships that where made for the game ohhh wow a source that you cant argue go ahead yell at your screen and argur with the Wiki source.[/quote]
No, you are still wrong. Less ships does not mean lack of choice at all. There is too much choice for Feds, but still, once again does not mean a lack of choice!
It is uneconomical by far to have so many different designs for the Federation, but as pointed out, the Federation has 180+ individual species contributing to ship design, and the Federation is by far the most diverse in it's applications.
At T6, the Feds have 40+, Roms 30+, KDF 30+ ships, now tell me how that is lack of choice!
Cryptic are not going to make new T1-T4 ships for Roms, who are still recovering from having their population decimated, where we only ever saw the BoP, Valdore, Scimitar, D'Deridex and possibly 2 other ships in the entire run of Star Trek onscreen. Even the KDF, we only ever saw the D-Classes, K'Vort, B'Rel, Vorcha, K'Tinga, and the Negh'Var, and the ENT variants of the BoP.
So, your claim once again is not justified, because Cryptic has already provided a VAST plethora of ships already.

No, you are not right, nor justified. Less ships does not mean lack of choice. Considering Feds have 40+ T6, Roms 30+, and KDF 30+, Cryptic have given ample choice. Romulans and KDF do not have the same ship build philosophy of the Feds, and considering both Roms and KDF have had less than 10 variants each in the ENTIRE run of ST, not including DSC, it is only shows how generous Cryptic have been in designing dozens upon dozens of new hulls for each faction!
