Hello rubber banding my old friend, time to bounce around the battlezone again, where are all my bug reports going?, out of love with this game I am falling, As Cryptic fail to acknowledge a problem exists, Shakes an angry fist, And from Support all I'm hearing are the sounds of silence.

So why not the usual 2.6H on Thursday?
Why yet another frikken long DT, in the middle of our European game time on a bloody Tuesday?
And this even in a VACATION PERIOD?

    Man man man...

This surely is not good service, at all.

i agree with you now there is more than 5 hours a cannot play this game in my vacation i toke vacation form work 2 weeks to play the dcv and more and it was so much downtime of the game

and always in the time of Europa never of the pct it is like they don't like the Europa players

i agree with the downtime is needed to keep the game systems healthy but do it sometimes on the pct and not always on the Europa time lines the world is not pct

Here's an idea to make it up for all Europeans:
A "We apologize" package, containing a unique Factionwide T6 ship with unique, shipbound equipment, unique BOffs, unique traits, and unique uniforms.
I think, that would ease our frustration and pain a bit.

Guys the reason why they do this is an FCT. It's the quietest time of the day for the game.

As the game is 24/7, no matter what time they do this, someone will be put out. They start at 5AM their time. That means someone leaving their families in the middle of the night, having gone to bed probably at 8pm their time. They are NOT going to change this, no matter what.

And as for 'compensation'....the game is 30GB in size and is FREE. You also get a vast plethora of FREE items whilst you play. So you're basically telling the Dev's that you're not satisfied with all this FREE stuff and you want more! SMH!!!

And finally, this is ARC maintenance, affecting numerous games, not just STO.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

That's because nothing is changing in the game. This is an ARC maintenance affect ALL their games. When nothing is listed, take it as 'cleaning the hamster cage'.

I hope that arc is bringing back arc quests after the promised "improvements" about 7 or so months ago.

didnt they do that last week?

Arc have been doing on-going improvements to the server structure for the past couple of months. Whilst this to some may seem excessive, it's likely a huge server farm, so will take sometime.

ARC maintenance always runs up to 2 to 4 hours over. Do not be surprised if its down for 7 plus hours.
Unlike STO who functions on the rules of Scotty, *always do it in less than you give them* ARC doesnt!.
Plus if they are doing server maintenace, hopefully the rubber banding decreases with the upgrades that are taking place :).

Not so much cleaning the hamster cage as replacing the dead gerbil with a fresh geriatric one and checking to see how perished the knicker elastic holding things together has become.

You're right, they don't like european players... at least they don't like them enough to show up at their office in the middle of the night, when, as shown in recent studies, humans have the best attention to detail potential.
But I'm sure, would you work for a gaming company, you'd like american players so much, you'd only work during the night...

For the record: I'm living in europe, too, and can't play on my free afternoon.

I'm the UK as well, and I have no issues with the time of maintenances. It's a necessary evil that will always impact people all over the world. If one gets extended, I go play something else. There's zero point getting stressed and going grey early because something is a minor inconvenience.

Considering the number of server drops last weekend, and the fact that "Hearts & Minds" would start by midnight tonight, it makes perfect sense that the server should get some extra TLC. If the extra down time prevents another rash of random server drops, then I'm a happy camper. B)

Indeed, it's quite pointless to be stressed over this, since as long there's a single worldwide server someone, somewhere is gonna get the maintenance land on middle of their playtime. While it's understandble to not like it when it lands on your playtime, it would be selfish to demand it to land on someone else just so that you could play.

    FYI:another European player here.

    c'est la vie

Why ruffle your feathers? Can you change what is happening? Then why bother? The game needs this downtime for a reason otherwise they would not do it
