Starfleet is resurrecting the Star Trek: Discovery-era ship, the Nimitz, as the brand new Europa for the 25th Century! Find out what she can do under your command:
As I stated under the 'Introducing the Europa Class' thread: "Luke warm at best for me. It looks fine, but statistics matter most & just not inspiring me to purchase."
The design seems mostly reused assets with some refinement polish on a few pieces looking nice. The stats look solid too mostly. Inferior consoles deployment for my liking though, I would've preferred 4T 4E 3S, & the special console after reading about the negatives with the active ability doesn't create enthusiasm for me despite the nice passives. The Trait sounds good though & I like the group benefit aspect. I wish Cryptic would have more of that group dynamic focus on things. I'll probably pass since the best part is it looks good & it doesn't really add anything out of the ordinary or new imho.
"Battlecruiser-class vessel" with 2 Tactical Consoles?
Really?
Don't get me wrong.. it's a great looking ship. As always, the Art department knocked it out of the park.. but wow. 2 Tactical Consoles on a Battle Cruiser just makes no sense to me. The ships layout is incredibly inconsistent with it's intended purpose.
Decent looking ship for a fed, but utter TRIBBLE layout overall for a BC, not even the non DPS casual will enjoy this. Horrid turn rate as well. Bad ship from a dev that "understands" dps.
Guess it goes with the theme of discovery, as its TRIBBLE Star Trek.
Quote about STO on consoles: "Not quite as bad as No man's sky, but a close second."

The Fleet version does have 3 Tac consoles.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

Space Barbie Extraordinaire. Got a question about Space Barbie? Just ask.
Things I want in STO:
1) More character customization options such as more clothing options, letting the toon complexion affect the entire body, not just the head. Also a true RGB color picker applied to all costume and appearance options, which would allow for true appearance customization and homogenous colors instead of "this same exact color looks vastly different on two different pieces."
2) Bridge customization, not bridge packs. Let us pick a general layout and adjust the color palette, console appearance, and chair types, as well as more ready room layout options.
3) Customizable ground weapons, i.e. The aesthetic look of phaser dual pistols but they shoot antiproton bolts. For obvious reasons this would only apply to standard ground weapons.
4) For the love of Q please revamp Plasma Ground Weapons. They look like demented Supersoakers right now.
5) True Vanity Impulse and Deflector effects similar to Vanity Shields.
6) A greater payout for hitting T6 Reputations. Currently it takes more time and resources to get from T5 to T6 than it does to get from nothing to T5. Make that grind really pay out at the end.
7) Mirrorverse Refugee event similar to AoY/Delta/Gamma, complete with new Mirrorverse recruits for all factions.
8) Independent Faction, because yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me!
Looks nice, not likely to buy it. I'm a looks first, stats second type person, but even *I* have to look at those 2 Tac consoles and say "Nope". A 4 Eng, 3 Sci and 3 Tac layout would have been much better and probably would have gotten me to buy it.
I personally don't try for super DPS (or probably even above average, TBH), but seeing only 2 Tac consoles means that those long fights I normally have will be even longer with this ship. You only get past content by blowing stuff up and the quicker the better. This is in the ballpark, but it's way up there in the cheap seats.
Again, nice looking ships with the old and new skins for it, but I just cannot see myself buying something that will make me frustrated later on.
Hello. My name is iamynaught and I am an altaholic.
I'm on the market for a new ship. The Intel Assault Cruiser is at top spot on my list now, but this seems pretty nice too. However, i wonder if a Cardenas class possibly are on the tables to be released? That's one sexy beast! http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/USS_Yeager_(NCC-1437)
Please, if it is coming, let it be on Zstore!
A Nimitz Class, not being a carrier or carrying fighter...
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

The Intel Assault Cruiser is awesome.. just FYI. I think it's one of the most fun cruisers to fly, handles like a dream.
The hell you mean 2 tactical console slots and you call it a BATTLEcruiser!? What, just the fact that it has a 5 for, 3 aft weapons layout with a terrible turn-rate automatically makes it a "Battlecruiser"?
...is this the T5 Bortasqu moment for the feds, where they get such a horribad ship they refused to buy it and so in a fit of rage at the ship not being lapped up, the powers that be ensure they get very few ships for the next few years?
Yeah, I doubt it.
Still, knowing Cryptic, it'll get a hangar in a few maintenences time - To be honest with the design and description in the prestat blog, I almost expected it to be a carrier battlecruiser with the two tac consoles as a way to mitigate opness at having more fore weapons
That's a wonderful looking ship model but the stats are dire.
Why call it a battlecruiser with only 2(3) tac consoles? And it can mount cannons but turns like a whale as well. And the locked Ens Engineering seat kinda locks you out of a lot of flexibility that might have made it more appealing.
Honestly, i'm disappointed. I was definitely going to buy this but now its a no from me having thought over those stats.
The console isn't ship specific though (it can be used on the other ships with the better console layouts). C-store version should swap tac and sci console setup, and probably sacrifice some hull points for at least 2 points upgrade in turn rate.
Unless there are some serious changes in the game mechanics for space combat, DPS is still more important than tanking - enemy ships that are dead sooner deal less damage overall and therefore there is less need to tank.
Cryptic is determined to continue to disappoint in every facet of the game.First red alerts ,now this ship that is worse than a t5 ship and im not going to pay 3000zen on a console . Keep it up Cryptic at at least you're consistent.
Disco STO tomorrow is already a letdown, rubbish starter pack with a max T4 ship, no good to me, and a T6 good looking Nimitz thats utter rubbish stat-wise, was gonna spend a bit (even the lockbox is TRIBBLE), guess im gonna save loadsa mooooooney.
well its a gorgeous model aesthetically and I am sorely tempted on the look of it alone, however the console layout is so lacklustre that it really puts it out of my gameplans.
BC with 2 tactical...wtheck>?? i thought that bc were hybrid vessels, a cross between the speed and agility of cruisers coupled with the firepower of a bs...why then this....its more a heavy cruiser than a bc. the fleet variant gets the third tac console granted which is an assistance, but even so, id then have to buy the cstore for the console/trait then a fleet module to get the third tac console....hmmm, really making this a hard sell there cryptic.

If you're on the fence, it's worth it.
Actually, I checked, this has the same turn rate, base console layout, and inertia rating of the T5 star cruiser (has one more engineering console).
The great spoon-beast lives!
