Launcher just showed two more hours than last time I looked, making it a total of 8 hours now. Funny thing is, I remember a time long ago, when the Community Manager would post updates about something like this here, on the official forums. Nowadays, the announcement has the day before yesterday stated as the day this is happening.
Even funnier thing is: ARC (not the launcher) actually just had a message pop up, in Windoze, informing me about the extended downtime. I've seen worse.
Why does it take nine hours to do routine maintenance plus only those four things?
They have not found any new hamsters, so the management must take over.
Wait, so are they putting Andre in the wheel for emergency power mode? I think an EP would delegate...

Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!
I've abandoned arc after they've abandoned arc quests, so the launcher is my most reliable source of information. Funny though, that even arc is more up to date than the official forums...
... and of course, I'd love to have a T5/6 Kamarag, like there is a T5/6 Ambassador.

That's because they maintenance is Arc based, not STO based. It's PWE's doing not Cryptic.

I had to quit using steam with STO and rely on Arc for these very reasons... It take hours b4 steam ever received any update
Steam doesn't give out STO server status. It's just one of the pathways for running the game. No different than if you used the stand alone launcher or Arc.

So I can blame PWE for keeping me from the game until this afternoon?
And I had my music queued up for today's Breach run...
Yes but if the downtime is Arc related... Using Arc id get faster and or more reliable information. Where if i was trying to launch from Steam id be in the dark

9pm..... Yeah.....

Eh. At least they keep people informed. I work in IT. I know stuff can break in nasty ways sometimes... that's why you have maintenance windows set up so they have the least impact if the window has to be extended. Sucks a bit for the Euro crowd who will lose an evening for the most. But it happens.
If it messes folks Breach schedules up, just politely ask em to extend the event a day or two... I'm sure the GMs won't mind to do that.
Rather that they fix whatever isn't working rather then push a less-then-stable server onto the playerbase.
I have a feeling that it's going to be down until 1pm... China time. We just haven't received the memo yet. The replacement hamsters still have to go through customs.

 Silly when people try to beat their own Guiness World Record... no other game will beat your downtime. Record will stand for all time. Only 8 hours... jeez. Not like people will spend their time and money on other games.
If this was the only downtime this week fine. I guess you are getting the new players used to the norm since there is an update coming and we all know what that means... less game time.

I know, that's why I know it's been extended...

In that case, expect downtime to be extended by several days or so.

I'm already drinking the beer I've bought to drink while playing... let's see if I can still play when servers return...
