First of all, this is not a doom thread. I am simply stating what I am experiencing in the game. I see no need to sugarcoat things
I play on Xbox One and I have been waiting for one of the Gamma Battlezone queues to pop for the last hour. I remember a few months ago the devs stating that a player could play solo if there weren't enough players around. Clearly this is not the case. I am quite disappointed. It seems as if this may have been rushed out the door. I could try to play in one of the other battlezones but most of those are empty as well. I could play some of the no battlezone queues but there are only two that are showing wait timers at the moment. I have no idea what the other players are doing at endgame on console.
In short, I am very very disappointed with the Gamma Battlezone and that disappointment is aggravated by the other empty areas of the game.
I'm going to give this a slight amount of leeway. If you're having issues finding queues then perhaps consider joining a fleet of like minded people who enjoy playing together and that could form teams to do various runs, including the gamma battlezone. to be perfectly blunt it sounds like you're not entirely sure what you want to do in game. Joining a good fleet will give you plenty to do and people to do it with.

Do you have a Jem’Hadar who happens to be a gamma recruit or did this event not hit consoles?
I’m just bringing this up as mine just cleared all tasks and thereby provided more than enough gamma marks for the other 11 characters of mine so that they never had to worry about that reput.

Part of the problem may also be a combination of the new interface, which is terrible, and the player decline bug.
I know that after I tried to play in the new bz for an hour and it just continuously dropped every game due to player declines I gave up and haven't been back. I'm hardly even playing any of the regular queues now as they were giving so many issues.
And you're definitely right about the ability to play solo, I often run solo through other bz's if it's an odd time and it's quiet. They had said this would be possible but I'm guessing they couldn't make it work properly with the queue system maybe?
Ultimately I suspect players will start wandering back to try the bz in time to see if the bugs have been worked out, just have to wait a bit until they come around. The initial problems likely just turned many people away.

The Gamma BZ queue system on the consoles IS bugged, and it has been reported numerous times now. It's supposed to pop even if there is only one person in the queue, but it does not.
@ambassadorkael#6946 We could do with some official word on the forums about this because it is quite literally annoying the hell out of everyone as it has not worked correctly since day one on the consoles.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
I don’t play on console, but from what I understand, the console population is rather sparse during off hours (US Time.)
I am sure if you try later in the day you will have better luck. You posted this at 2AM pacific time, not exactly prime time. I don’t know what time zone you’re in, things should be picking up in a couple hours when our friends in GMT time zone start getting home and online.

Thank you for that information. I was not aware of this bug. I wholeheartedly agree that an official word would be nice. A little communication can go a long way. This game has a community manager who seems like a pretty nice guy. Perhaps he could do more managing of the community. [/quote]
Well, the guy is hellishly busy, but he's a decent chap. The problem is that you've to scour Reddit or Twitter with a fine comb to get an 'official' word on things these days, which I don't use, this is despite them saying to use the forums!

The last time we had a community manager that was active in engaging players, they fired her. Dude is trying to keep his job, can't blame him for that.
For a game that has been on console for a while now, the queues are often completely, utterly, and sincerely dead. Asking someone to join a fleet as a work around won't change that. One has to assume that many others are playing the game, but the queues (where you have to earn those marks to advance projects) remain ... devoid of life.
I do know that they will soon be rebranded as "Operations" and that Cryptic has plans to revivify their old queues, but the frustration of the OP is a genuine fail at this point. Can't blame the Q Continuum for it either; just their thrice-damned queues.
