So, what is your strategy regarding reputation? Are you more likely to snipe particular reputations that are of use to a character, or are you likely to do all of the reps for a given character? Do you expect your strategy will change when we get tier 6 reps?
I have rather too many characters but so far I have completed all the reps except Gamma. My strategy is to finish rep on one character that won't acquire too many items and use them to sponsor all the others. Ironically it was my Jem'Hadar that I used for Gamma. While I am finishing those 40 days, I acquire my 625 marks for all the other characters, by whatever combination of Recruit rewards and queues may be necessary. Once I have the sponsorships, I map out what items I want to get with each character, figure out how many marks are necessary, and do a queue in that rep once per day with as many characters as I can bother doing. Everyone gets at least one item for each rep for everyone who wasn't specifically getting a set. By 20 days I generally have enough marks to get whatever I had planned. Once I have all the items I want, I zero out my marks for dilithium, and keep it zeroed.
Obviously, me zeroing my marks was stupid. I expect I will choose one rep with each character to acquire whatever items tier 6 allows, and level up just that one. I really hope they have some kind of hassle mitigation like another Recruit event.

The way the gamma BZ is dying off I get he feeling that I might well be making use of the next MI to get those marks done on most alts as that's way more enjoyable than sitting about waiting on other people to click accept or even just join up in the first place. Even goncra was more entertaining.
I'll only t6 cap old reps if there's something worth doing them for, very much wait and see as I doubt there'll be a second dil reward for capping it again.
I run the rep first on my Fed main, then sponsor my KDF main, just got enough marks from Risa to complete the Competitive rep on both of them, no idea when I'll start the Gamma rep.
As far as the T6 addition to the reps goes... I have no idea how I will handle that until we get a general idea of what Tier 6 unlocks for us. I am hoping that T6 will include some sort of account unlocks. If that happens then I may just unlock all the Tier 6 Reputations on a single toon. If not, it will be a long and drawn-out process for me to rebuild marks for all my "farming" characters. Usually, after I get all the Reps to T5 and get whatever rep gear that character is going to use, I trade in the marks for dilithium. If I need to upgrade that character later on, then I simply grind out the marks I need at that time and move on from there.

A few Red Alerts a day, an Argala Patrol, a Japori Patrol, or New Romulus Staging Area, an occasional Dyson Daily, and a run or two of CCA. I also did the opening Missions on Kobali Prime.
All the other 11 Reputations are done and am on T4 for Gamma. I would also normally do Battlezones (except Tzen'kethi) but haven't done them this time yet.
As far as Tier 6 is concerned, I will just have to wait and see what the gimmick is for that.

hopefully they'll also give the older rep sets a pass over to make em over all a bit more in line with things, the romulan rep for example lacks a ground set, which it'd be nice to see added,
Normalized pricing and T5 Rewards for the Omega Rep
Elite Marks for T5 Reward for the Delta and Iconian Reps

Romulan captains ideally would get a price reduction on warp and sing cores instead of having to pay twice to get a set they can use across their collection of ships.
Nuking a stash of marks depends on which rep is being burned for dil, some like terran & temporal are pretty easy to get back because the BZ is still popular and you can double up both at the same time. Others like lukari or comp are harder because the BZ has never been fixed and the comp queues are deader than a gestating kobali leaving only RA's or events like MI to acrue them.
That is exactly how I do it (and am doing Gamma). Exactly. Right down to zeroing out the reps for dilithium when I'm done with them. Sigh. Now Tier 6 is coming.

Don’t know if it is a coincident but if a player tries to squeeze out all there is on a build you often find a wild mix of traits and gear choices covering most reputations. Those things vary over time when the meta changes but I would not want to end up missing out anything there. As for gear out of reputation I only get it when I exactly know what to do with it.
Tier 6 on reputations does not change anything for me here. It’s rather just finally the chance to make use of all the marks I have left over. I currently brows my toons and if any reput mark type is short somewhere I juts focus with that toon on the respective maps a bit.
We have plenty of time to save ahead here. Pretty cool actually.

My main concern about a new tier of rep is that at the end of the day it'll just be another wasted opportunity by adding stuff that isn't really content (or broken) and hoping folk will stick around to do it.
Maybe if someday Battlezones didn't feel like they're balanced around the min-maxxer elite powergamer (have to be somewhat difficult for the best to stay engaged) making the primary strategy for someone who doesn't insta-own Mk XV gold everything into "get carried" or "zerg rush" it (go in, get enough shots in for "doing something" credit, die, repeat.) - or the balance levels between supra-max and "normal joe" settle into a tighter band - then I might come hang around for a while to work on them.
But even then, it would have to be fairly compelling to overcome the "burnout" I have because transitioning from a fairly well off 2410 Joined Trill "main" to an AoY Vulcan "Main" (Fan of TOS) and inability to "readily afford" the convenience (Tuffli) or "fun" (Recluse) stuff my older main has and/or DoFFing gets fixed enough to "actually work" in the Alpha Quadrant (therefore making it "easier" to get through the long slog there) might get me popping back on for longer bursts. Oh, did I mention that part of the burnout is from the "make game your job" feeling that the massive Alt-farmers have permeated the game with to counteract the whales/space rich?

For example, Reps that offer Polaron equipment will only be done by characters who use Polaron builds.
Others are advanced to the level that unlocks the passive ship/ground traits I want, usually no higher then tier 4.
As a general rule, I work on Gamma Rep for each character to attain T5, just because I want them to be able to call in the not-mini Runabout in battle.
I will take a new Rep to T5 on one character, just in case I decide to sponsor others to advance that Rep as well.
Basic recap, I have 7 characters now and don't want to invest the time in maxing out all Reps for each of them!
I am concerned about the Reputation T6 I've heard mention of.
I'm expecting it'll be something like 200,000xp to achieve, because that's twice the level of the current cap of 100,000xp.
No specific details have been released yet, so I'm going to hold off on definitive assessments until that information has been provided.

For example, I'm left handed so I bought the lukari wrist apparatus for all my toons because using it feels more natural for me. Tho I use iconian armor set because I like its visuals best.
Only you can make the game your job.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Oh well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I only need to do Reputation once to determine if the rewards are worth having on other characters.
Once I've seen the item one time, that's all I need.
If I wasn't going to get it for another character, then it's just time wasting to advance the Rep/do the requisition project.
When I saw the Lukari wrist weapon for the first time, this line came to mind:
"I feel like I'm going to break the darn thing".
Seriously, it's just a couple of metal wires with bobbles on the end.
Probably the only weapon in STO that can be disabled by snapping off the emitter rods......

Most of the time, my decision to get a space weapon set is based on whether the damage type matches the character. For ground, it's usually a case of "hm, I seem to have 1500 marks and the space stuff isn't interesting me at the moment".
The gear is never actually needed for anyting and as such, only to be picked up on my main for the costume unlocks or other visual effects.
normal text = me speaking as fellow formite
colored text = mod mode
Especially since it appears the majority of mark specific queues have been abandoned, meaning it takes even longer for a group to form.
And I remember the time when I did do several reps a day, it took at least 5 hours to get through all of them.
So not interested in doing that again!!!!

The problem Cryptic, is that most of this lot (waves at player base) are dilithium farmers, and for them it's all about rewards versus time, so to have a chance at keeping the queues alive you need to dramatically increase the rewards in the dead queues. If one queue is 3 minutes long and another is 30 minutes long, then the 30 min queue better have 10 times the rewards of the 3 min queue.
