They look just fine, especially compared to the random kitbashes littered through every major battle in the shows & films.
I'm sorry...but the white knight is stong in this one. You are seriously gonna tell me that the toilet brush dewan ships looks fine compared to kitbashes like the orlean class. Umm...yeah....
I don't even know what to say to that level of delusion.
As long as it functions then I see no issue. I like functional designs generally (The Eagle from Space 1999 is a classic example of utilitarian function over form).
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

You white knight all the time. I've just come to expect it. But your entitled to your opinion as am I to mine.
Beginning to think the Devs must have the Nova/Rhode Island on THEIR list.
I mean, they've given almost every canon Federation ship a quality pass but continue to ignore the Nova. They must hate it!
Yeah, I just read the Excelsior is getting a make-over.
Yeah - to be honest, whilst it's nice that the Excelsior fans are getting what they wanted, I can't help but resent it a little. I mean, the Excelsior already HAS a T6 model and the Resolute primary hull is a very close match to the Excelsior.
Whereas the Nova/Rhode Island remains consigned to T5/T5-U oblivion with one of the worst quality ship models in the game.
Like I said, am convinced the ship design/artists hate the Nova class.
And yet the Ambassador was only ever offered as a Feature Episode reward outside of the limited time freebe in the C-Store. PWE needs to stop with the hate for the Ambassador and release a T5-T6 C-Store bundle so everyone can appreciate the beauty of it and give us the Enterprise C bridge as well.
Need to add the Chronos Temporal Dreadnought Cruiser, a fisher-price child's toy with faerie wings and rounded off as to not impale anyone. Got the Fed-ternal & the raider abomination thus breaking the pack just to avoid that thing. I don't generally care about phallus-shaped ships, the Atrox I think looks great despite that certain angle, but the Chronos is a definite 2-in-1.

There is a Fleet Ambassador (FT5-U) that has two skin options.
But no T6 option and the ship has never been available to purchase in the C-Store. It deserves to be treated like the iconic part of the franchise that it is, especially in comparison to some of the other "Captain's Logs" we have floating around space.
Up until recently, my Romulan was not able to purchase the T5 Fleet ship due to restrictions. I can now though, which is a small improvement.
I regularly find that I don’t use most of the specialty seating. FT5-U ships are still very relevant. My Vor’Cha is still one of my most potent ships. I’m going to have to check out more of the FT5-U ships on the Fed side.
We've all been there. There's a ship with mad statz that would go very well with one of our characters, and we have zen burning a hole in our virtual pockets. But the ship in question is just! so! ugly! that you cannot in good faith even consider buying it.
What ships fit this description for you?
Honestly, most ships that were never featured on the show or in one of the movies fit that bill (at least as far as the Federation and the Klingons are concerned; I don't even know if I've seen any Romulan originals, and the Dominion ones actually look pretty cool).
There are exceptions, of course. I rather like the Geneva-class for one example, and I'm hoping to get one soon (I'm gonna name it the U.S.S. Bea Arthur, because I can and who's gonna stop me). But most of the others? Ick. Also, some the variants of the ships from the live action entries are kinda lame too. I do not like ANY of the variants for the Defiant. Who approved those?
I was going to include the variant of that one science vessel variant (I forget the class name, but it looks like Beverly Crusher's ship from All Good Things), but that one's actually kinda grown on me. Reminds me a little of the light cycle from TRON.
Well not exactly ugly but the smoke billowing from the coal-fired boilers on the Kar'fi is pretty ugly. This game is not set in the era of the early 20th Century Dreadnoughts.

I agree, on liking the Nautilus, but not so much the overhead view. The Temporal Raider however gets too marks from me, although in all fairness, I own none of the Temporal ships. Unless you count the Krenn, Korath, and Paradox I use on my Gorn Sci.
Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth

I have two of the KDF command cruisers, the science and the tac one. The engineering one is too ugly to buy. That one just looks like nothing. Now these ships are in my view very good and fun to fly. I would seriously think of buying them again if they got a better skin, also I would buy the engineering one. So here you have it, I would buy them a second time, if they got a better design.
Overall, I think ship design isn't the greatest think in Star Trek. The whole idea of saucer, hull, nacelles doesn't make much sence. On the other hand, are there space franchises with great looking space ships?
There is NO such thing as one ship being ugly in a three-pack as you can always use the looks/parts of the other two of the three.

I agree, with just one exception, Dewan ships, which is perhaps why I called them the worst of the worst. Even the KDF Command Battlecruisers have one variant that isn't all that bad.
Developers would do well to release kitbashing options with single ships to maximize sales. They have done a tiny bit of that in the past, offering faction-specific color schemes on Dysons, or sealed inner circle of Scryer option, Fed color scheme on Eclipse, the ability to port warp nacelles across the Fed Intel ships (Scryer with Eclipse nacelles is my favorite even if bussard collectors look better on original nacelles, Eclipse ones also work exceptionally well on Phantom).

As a matter of fact. I found them all three ugly, yes one very ugly. I bought the science one, which has in my view a pretty good trait. Then I liked to fly the ship and to have some options in the ship tailor. So I bought the tac one, which has the most famous trait, all hands on deck, yet for a non-min-maxer, just a trait. But I cannot and will not buy the engineering one. Now if someone came up with the idea of designing the most ugly ship ... accomplished, I would say.
BTW, all three ships, KDF command cruisers, do not tinker well. With all three ships, you can interchange parts, but they do not fit well. With a sharp eye you can see they are from different ships, hull and neck do not connect well. The best designs are those which come out of the box. And a three pack should have good options to redesign them as you like, but these do not.
I agree with you on the Vengeance but not with the Sovereign nor Promethius, as for the defiant I don't think it's ugly but I don't think it looks great either.
BTW, all three ships, KDF command cruisers, do not tinker well.
I think I know what you mean as I see that very thing when kitbashing the Bortasq. Some selections are just misaligned or can't align by their very design incompatibilities, and it's not exactly easy to overlook either. Compare that to the Vestas, 6 ships, all of which go together seamlessly.
To me those are epic designs. Even the kinda weird Defiant won me over since it reminds me of DS9 & seeing it on screen gives it something special, alongside its concept of shrinking a full-power spaceship down to engineering limits to the point it can tear itself apart, or something of the sort.
I'd have to say every ship is too ugly to buy that isn't a Tier 6 Vor'cha Class
Hello rubber banding my old friend, time to bounce around the battlezone again, where are all my bug reports going?, out of love with this game I am falling, As Cryptic fail to acknowledge a problem exists, Shakes an angry fist, And from Support all I'm hearing are the sounds of silence.
I usually purchase ships that are canon or based on notable novels etc...
Unfortunately; the majority of the Romulan vessels are just too hokey and ugly in my opinion. Very few Rom ships that I like - Just wish they beefed up the canon ones like the D'Deridex.
As far as Fed side - all Pilots, all Miracle worker tug boats, flat @ss delta pack cruisers, the Scryer (OMG is that thing an eye sore), Some of the newer Klingon ships, especially the block looking ones, the Lifetime Rom and Klingon ships - Yeah there are a huge selection of fck'd up and ugly designs. Looked like the Art team Devs were bored and just decided to scribble TRIBBLE down.
I feel they lost sight of the fundamental designs of the Klingon, Federation, and Romulan canon templates and decided to go radical and artistic for the sake of art.
Design team, please go back to the basics - Also there are more canon designs still out there that haven't been brought to the game.
