Congratulations on another successful mission. When they expect you to use a hammer, a scalpel can be more effective. Going forward you are now authorized to deal with any other of these individuals that you encounter as you see fit, with extreme prejudice. But first, take some down time to recover. That's an order.
Your grateful Empress

Subject: Thank you
Thank you for your vocal support. Know I do not blame the citizens of Terra for the acts of a few. These savages have remained at liberty for far too long. I am declaring open season for these savages and will be bringing in the hunters to end them. Enjoy the show.
Your grateful Empress

From: Regents Solat and Petrofski
Subject: A request
It would be an honor if you would come to the front and take a look at the situation for yourself and take personal command of the army. Your support for the troops has raised morale in these dark times and it would improve the troops' morale to have their Empress come and lead them. Thank you for the extra troops and supplies, we ask that specialized mountain troops be deployed to the front for dealing with the 45,000 rebels dug into the caves and tunnels of the Archuros mountains, the enemy is using Japanese tactics from Terra's WW2 and they intend to make our troops pay a heavy price in blasting and burning them out. We intend to make sure that our brave and courageous men and women are not thrown into that meat grinder. We do not want another Peleliu, Iwo Jima or Okinawa.
Your loyal commanders
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

Note: having personally undergone jaw surgery last summer I can attest to how painful having your jaw broken in 6 places and screwed back together is.... Now that I think on it Shade shouldn't have been talking without a clenched mouth.
Mirror Universe, Terra System, Mars, Shade's Castle
One Week after being order into recovery by Empress Heath
Shade laid on her couch, her head propped up on a small mound of pillows, with a bag of ice cubes on either side of her skull held in place by a bandage wrapped around her skull. The doctors had needed to reset the bones- thank whomever had invented pain killers.
Shade turned her gaze from the replicated TV set to see Smith Captain of the Warrior entering her living room.
"Ouch- might need to shrink you head down Shade, that looks painful."
Emma chuckled before giving him a rude gesture for the half joked insult, before pointing to the case on the coffee table.
"It's for Alesia- break them." Shade said though she could barely open her mouth.
Smith looked at the schematics of the strange grenades- seeing a replicator. Raising an eye brown in confusion he read on: realising this was made specifically for cave systems used by the Empire's enemies.
The 'grenades' would replicate a gas cloud that was heavier than normal air which while not only being poisoning but painfully corrosive- would either force the rebels out of the cave systems or kill them.... Though the supply was limited to a mere 450.
"This should prove helpful, but are we sure-"
"Your Empress said extreme prejudice, get that to our troops on the ground- and make sure they can throw." Shade commanded as she reached for her blended chicken soup 'shake'.
"Alright alright. Is there anything I can get you before I leave?"
"The one thing I want more than anything right now is beyond your ability to help with." Shade said demonstraighting by grabbing her tooth brush and making several failed attempts to get between her teeth.
Smith laughed, Emma sulked- her jaw was going to be so week by the end of the month she'd be unable to chew!

One Week after being order into recovery by Empress Heath
"Shade, I cannot believe the Empress drafted my backside" said Smith, "ah well, it's a retreat from the missus. Hormonal Orions are a nightmare" he joked afterwards. "You'll recognize a couple of familiar faces" said Shade nursing her jaw. "Warrior, very nice. I'm ready to go" replied Smith. Smith then beamed up to the Warrior and made sure the new toys were securely locked away, he then went to the bridge and saw Ibarid. "Empress drafted you too?" joked Ibarid. Both soon heard whistling from the helm position and soon thought "There goes the neighborhood" when the helm officer turned round and said "Hi boys" smiling. "Things are going to get a little crazy round here" said Smith. "Ghost said she's sitting this one out, family comes first" replied Isoisa (red). "Set a course for Alesia IV, warp 9" ordered Smith getting to business. "Copy that boss" replied Isoisa. The Warrior went to warp and Smith sighed "One tour they said, one tour." "At least you brought Attila, pet or working dog?" asked Isoisa. "Working dog, his nose will be essential" answered Smith. "Good thinking, plus staring eye to eye with a wolf is off-putting" replied Ibarid.
"That is an added bonus, to be fair Attila is a big animal" added Isoisa. "I've had him since he was a pup" replied Smith. "He's got you trained my friend" joked Isoisa. "He knows who alpha is" answered Smith. "You intend to use him to hunt rebels, bad day to be the enemy" replied Isoisa. "I heard Nathan once say you reap what you sow during a discussion on how to police our neighborhood" said Smith, "I never understood the quote before but I know the meaning now" he said afterwards. "The rebels will soon though" replied Ibarid. "Let's get this tour started, reminds me I need to contact Jas" answered Smith. "We can always stop by Terra afterwards, it will be fun seeing Mario again" said Ibarid. "How did Mario and your sister become Regents of Terra?" asked Isoisa to Smith. "From what I've heard, they're a fearsome couple. My sister was always a Humanist at heart so her work with the ordinary citizens on Terra got her noticed. She's loved by the Terran people and Mario is a hero to the Terran people, they'll do very well" answered Smith. "You won't recognize Terra, things have changed there. It's going through a renaissance" replied Isoisa. "That's impressive" answered Smith, "back to work people" he ordered afterwards.
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. The Warrior and her precious cargo had arrived. At Petrofski's HQ, Smith, Ibarid and Isoisa were escorted in by Petrofski's guards. "Mario, nice to see you again. Congratulations on the promotion" said Smith. "Thanks, I see you have brought some new toys" answered Petrofski. "I need your best grenadiers, we've only got 450 of these. They are designed to clear caves and tunnels, they emit a heavier than air poison gas that also corrodes. We're going to flush the rebels out of those mountains by grenade, plasmathrower and spatial charge cave after cave and tunnel by tunnel" requested Smith. "The enemy expects us to launch a frontal assault on those mountains, we'll loose thousands just storming them" answered Petrofski. "Use small kill teams, small units but heavily armed with one mission, burn and blast the enemy out" advised Smith. "Small assault groups could get in quietly" replied Petrofski looking at the map.
"With most of their defenses facing our expected line of advance, their rear is not so well protected. These outposts here on the rear left are isolated from the main defenses, taking those gives us a foothold in" answered Smith. "We would have move the assault units quietly and in secret" replied Petrofski. "We land them by shuttle here, it's out of range of the enemy flak and the terrain has lots of dead ground. We can advance using the cover of the ground since we'll be out of the enemy line of sight for most of it, we move at night as well" answered Smith. "Brief the Empress on your plan, she has taken a special interest in this battle. Her orders are to take no prisoners, the enemy will be shown no quarter since they have shown no quarter to civilians and to our troops" replied Petrofski as he opened a secure channel to give the Empress a daily update on the campaign.
On the front line, Alesia City's garrison attempted to breakout, each attempt at breakout was stopped as Imperial infantry held their lines and forced a rebel retreat back into the city. Petrofski relayed the battle to the Empress as artillery thundered in the background. "That's the third attempt today at breakout, I'm worried that they targeting this position of the line" said Petrofski briefing the Empress on the enemy breakout attempts, "I may have to move a reserve division to reinforce that sector of line" he said afterwards. "Deploy a Bajoran division, they'll fight for their emissary, trust me on that" replied Heath. "Ma'am, they'll get a good fight" answered Petrofski as he got news that more rebel artillery had been captured, "Extra artillery, some of my troops managed to capture three extra enemy batteries and they've got it back here somehow, I may have to have words with them for pulling that stunt" he said afterwards. "Put them up for commendation, reward their initiative" advised Heath. "I will, they thought outside the box" answered Petrofski. "I need to speak with Captain Smith, Regent, thank you for the update" replied Heath.
Petrofski went out to observe the enemy breakout attempts as the he ordered the Bajorans to reinforce his line on the right. "They're going at our right, artillery put down a kill zone between Alesia City and our right siege lines. Next time they decide to breakout, it will be be raining" ordered Petrofski as the artillery switched targets, "Lads, I want these new batteries altered and brought to bear against the enemy" he ordered afterwards. "Sir" chorused a squad of Terran infantry and they got to work learning the basics of how to operate the guns. "Watch the targeting scanner, it will be easier" advised Petrofski, "carry on lads" he said afterwards. "Copy that sir" said Private Detmar.

Captain Smith had been given the all clear to make his attack, as the assault groups were flown in by shuttle, the men began to prepare for a airborne landing. On the shuttles, team leaders briefed their men on what to expect and the Empress's order of give no quarter. "The Empress watches over us us all, let's show her how true Terrans fight" said Smith to his team. "For the Empress!!" chanted the troops as the shuttles soon went nap of the Earth to get under the enemy sensors. "LZ is five minutes" reported Isoisa to Smith. "Take us in nice and steady, make sure the other shuttles follow our course" ordered Smith. "This is Shuttle IS-43, all pilots follow my lead" said Isoisa over a secure hail, "the other shuttles are following us in" she reported afterwards. "LZ in two minutes, all troops prepare for dismount" ordered Smith to his men via secure hail to the assault group.
The landings were quick as shuttles came in and offloaded their cargo of troops and left to provide air cover. "Let's move and stick to the dead ground, we have six hours of darkness so let's get moving" ordered Smith before the troops moved out. Three hours later, the kill teams began to climb as they bypassed any positions that could be outflanked and attacked later. Surprise was total as the rebel outposts were cleared with no prisoners being taken as the Imperials began to infiltrate the caves and tunnels. Attila was up front with Smith tracking the rebels as the Imperials began setting spatial charges throughout the network of caves and tunnels. The kill teams now began the clearance as gas grenades were rolled into rebel positions and the doors welded shut. The rebels trapped in their positions were heard screaming as they were unable to get out. Inch by inch, the caves and tunnels were being cleared by plasmathrower, grenade and spatial charge. The shock of the assault and the deployment of gas took the fight out of the rebels who soon marched out with their hands on their heads after 12 hours of tough fighting. The Archuros Mountains had been secured with over 4,000 rebel dead and 41,000 prisoners. Imperial losses were 100 dead and 54 wounded out of the 1200 deployed for the attack.
Smith and his troops were in no mood for mercy and 41,000 prisoners were marched into a Prison compound as shuttles began landing back at base camp. When Petrofski got the news of the fall of Archuros, he smiled and updated the Empress. Smith and his men now marched their prisoners to within sight of the defenders of Alesia City. Petrofski gave the order and soon the prisoners were executed live on INN, he then sent an ultimatum to the besieged rebels holed up in Alesia City, "you killed your prisoners so we killed our prisoners. My Empress is giving you 15 minutes to march out with your hands on your heads, failure to comply will result in your total obliteration." "Then we will fight to the death, death to the W**** of Bajor" was the response. "Your choice" answered Petrofski, "all artillery, flatten that city and kill everything in it, no survivors" he ordered afterwards. For the next two weeks, Alesia City was reduced to rubble as the artillery rained death on the trapped rebels. Eventually after running out of supplies, the garrison marched out waving a white flag of surrender. "Massacre them" ordered Petrofski and the artillery carried out the mass execution live on INN. Alesia IV was finally secured with 1200 Imperials killed or wounded. Rebel losses were total, all 65,000 lay dead, the wounded had been executed by vengeful Bajoran troops.
Petrofski relayed the good news to the Empress and congratulated his troops on a job well done. INN called the Battle of Alesia IV a decisive victory and news spread of the victory across the Empire. The war was not over though as the rebels refused the Empress's demands for their unconditional surrender. Once Alesia IV was secured by Imperial troops, the campaign for the system was wrapped up and Petrofski and his victorious troops all cheered at their victory. On Terra, Regent Smith-Petrofski was interviewed by INN and her praise for the troops was heard all over the Empire as the citizenry chanted "Victory!!!!" On Alesia IV, the troops just got some rest as they took in their victory. "Mario, the lads will be talking about this for weeks to come. Not bad for volunteers who have never faced what we faced during the Dominion War" said Smith. "They will, I'm proud of them, they did well indeed" replied Petrofski smiling.

The streets were crowded as the citizens of Terra cheered as their victorious troops marched past. Empress Heath smiled as the population chanted "Empress!!" as over 6,000 prisoners from the Imperial campaigns were paraded under escort from the Imperial veterans. Regents Solat, Smith-Petrofski and Petrofski were stood at the Empress's side as the troops cheered "For the Empress!!" When the troops reached Red Square, they took their drill positions as NCOs yelled drill commands to their troops in front of the population. The families of the troops all smiled with pride as their loved ones showed total discipline and followed each command. Heath smiled as she saw the pride in the troops who all saluted her. INN was also live as the prisoners were marched in for the Empress's judgement.
"Peoples of the Empire, these brave men and women have shown honor and courage. These troops all volunteered and all fought, they have brought honor back to their people. Know this, I do not blame you as a people for the actions of animals. This war is not over and your brave troops will need our support in future campaigns. These men and women are to be honored today, be proud of them" said Heath to a cheer from the crowds. Heath then went to speak with the troops, "You have a name Private?" she asked one trooper. "Private Edvard Larrson ma'am" answered Private Larrson. "Mr Larrson, I understand you were wounded in the battle" replied Heath. "A flesh wound ma'am, I'll live" answered Larrson. "I hereby award you the wound badge and a campaign medal for Alesia IV, you fought and bled for the Empire. I respect that" replied Heath pinning the badges to Larrson's tunic. "Thank you ma'am" answered Larrson after he saluted Heath. "Carry on Mr Larrson" replied Heath as she went down the lines of veterans awarding each soldier with a campaign medal and speaking with them. "Eddy, the Empress, she's smoking hot" commented Private Detmar. "Show some respect Private" ordered Sgt Kenna quietly. "Sorry Sarge" answered Detmar. "Private, the Empress is a bonnie lass" replied Kenna smiling.
Heath now came to Smith and his tunnel rats, "Mr Smith, you and your boys did well" said Heath as she awarded each man with a campaign medal and the Terran Star for their daring attack. "It was hard fighting ma'am" answered Smith. "Gas, blasting and plasmathrower, the scalpel is more effective than a sledgehammer. Boys remember that" said Heath to the tunnel rats. "Tunnel rats and proud ma'am" said one soldier. Heath smiled at the comment and now turned her attention to the prisoners. "For the crime of treason and murder, you have all been found guilty. Since execution is too good for you, you will end your days working the dilithium mines of Nukara" said Heath to the prisoners. Heath however did signal for the highest ranking prisoner to dragged forward and she punched him in the gut bringing him down. The prisoner was then put to Heath's judgement and sentenced to life in prison, "this man committed evil, he will rot for eternity" said Heath to the crowds. Heath then spoke with the families of the troops and told them that she was proud of their loved ones.
Heath now honored the fallen and they were given a state military funeral as their families mourned. Heath had every soldier who fell posthumously award the Terran Star for their sacrifice and their families got a pension as support. Heath then spoke with the families and said "your loved ones fought, bled and fell in defense of others. Be proud of them for they made the sacrifice that others may live." The families all said "thank you for honoring our loved ones." "May the Prophets guide you" said Heath afterwards. "Majesty, the rebels said you were evil and wicked. You are neither, you have our support" said the father of Corporal Hendrix. "Mr Hendrix, you son was a credit to his people and the Empire, never forget that" answered Heath. "Majesty, God bless you" replied Mr Hendrix. Later at the Regent's Palace, Heath congratulated her field commanders and put them in charge of organizing a new campaign. "Ma'am, this rebellion will fall though it will be strange seeing Hirogen covering our wing" said Petrofski. "I requested them, enjoy the show" answered Heath, "And no more killing prisoners" she ordered afterwards. "I got a bit hot headed, it won't happen again. I may need advise on how to deal with that" answered Petrofski. The Regents all saluted Heath and made sure she got back to Los Lobos safely.

Regents Solat and Petrofski were approaching the rebel stronghold of Bellator III, as the rebel fleet were forming to fight, the Imperials jumped out in two waves and tore into the rebel fleet. The rebels were cut down before they even got chance to fire as the ships were disabled and boarded, Over 2500 prisoners were captured and thrown into cells. The Imperials now broadcast "This is Regents Solat and Petrofski of the Terran Empire, surrender of face a losing battle. Alesia IV resisted and look at them now" said Solat. "Contact your Empress, I wish to discuss the terms of our surrender" answered the rebel commander, General Hood. "Wise choice" said Petrofski, "have your troops killed innocent people?" he asked afterwards. "No, all Imperial citizens are safe and sound" answered General Hood. "The Empress requires proof that the civilians are being well treated" requested Solat. "They are, all 40,000 citizens are alive" answered General Hood sending the data to Solat, the data was then sent to the Empress and ground teams confirmed the rebel claims.
"Update the Empress, tell her the rebels on Bellator III wish to discuss the terms of their surrender with her" said Solat to Petrofski. "I'll inform her now" answered Petrofski before he went to his office and updated Heath via secure channel. Meanwhile , Imperial troops secured the moons around Bellator III and soon the planet was surrounded in a ring of steel. To secure a peaceful surrender, the rebels released all the civilians who were flown out of the system, the rebels true to their word also disarmed the defenses. "After much discussion, it was agreed, General Hood and his troops would surrender themselves to Regent Solat. Solat took the surrender of Bellator III and 30,000 rebel prisoners were transferred to Imperial holding facilities, Petrofski was relieved that it had not come down to fighting as INN broadcast the surrender of General Hood who handed his sword over to Solat. "General, you are a man of your word. You and your troops will be granted Prisoner of War status" said Petrofski, "you chose to surrender to the Empress's will, that's the only reason you and your troops will be well treated" he said afterwards.
"We heard about what happened on Alesia IV, we did not want that fate. Those fools should have never killed their hostages, they deserved what they got" said General Hood. "You made a wise call, you're alive as are your troops" replied Petrofski, "your fate and that of your troops will be decided by the Empress" he said afterwards. "The I accept my fate on behalf of my troops" answered General Hood before he was led to the cells. Meanwhile on Betazed, Smith and his tunnel rats were assisting Regent Iodokar's troops in clearing out rebel safe houses. The combination of tear gas, stun grenade and autocarbine was enough to cause more rebels to surrender as the stunned rebels were carried out and put onto transports headed to Betazed's most secure prison. "So why do they call you boys the Tunnel Rats?" asked Jodi to Smith. "We are the guys you call in to deal with fighting in confined spaces, a building is no different to a cave and tunnel network" answered Smith. "We're also crazy enough to do it" joked one Tunnel Rat. "Evidently" commented Jodi.

Agent Blue looked over the progress once more- the massive frame of the rebuilt U.S.S. Dragon taking up the full view of the window. The starbased sized Galaxy-Titan class had been under contstruction since it's loss during the Iconian war, gosh what had it been four years ago?
"Drake wants a status update on The Weapon."
"Tell him that the ship and the Molindran tech are both flawlessly integrated with each other- we just need telepaths powerful enough to avoid killing them, when we fire.... I'd rather not stoop to Leatas level, when we finish this."
"I had an idea about that- even the Molindrans lost several ships to the Terrans- or we could use the Citadel gate to cross over and try and see if there's any in the mirror universe that would be willing to help us.... We'll crack that planet like a egg, all we need is the source of the telekinetic destruction."

Regent Petrofski had been summoned, as he was told to sit down, he noticed Heath's guards and gave his guard commander an order to assist Heath's security as door guards. "I see you learnt the lesson of Alesia" said Heath. "I have ma'am" answered Petrofski, "problem is we have tens of thousands of POWs, some of them have committed unspeakable atrocities" he said openly and honestly. "Those who did not kill and are repentant, will be given a chance to reclaim their honor and privilege for them and their families through conscripted service. Serve their time and they may leave, or continue their careers in the service. The unrepentant and those who kill innocent people get sent to the Terra 10 prison planet. They can spend the rest of their tiny lives being hunted by the wildlife there. They had a choice on whether or not to harm innocent people" answered Heath.
"In the 20th Century, my people had labor camps called gulags set up for political prisoners and enemies of the state. I may consider reopening them" replied Petrofski. "If I remember my history right, thousands of innocent people died in those camps and the Cardassians did the same to my people. I'm advising you not to go down the Stalin route, you're Russian. You may want to read your people's history" advised Heath. "My wife said the same thing to me this morning. I've got a lot of homework" replied Petrofski, "I must learn wisdom in order to rule" he said afterwards. "You have reservations about conscripting these prisoners" said Heath. "I would not trust them, the chance of mutiny is too high and it could compromise the campaign. If I have to take them then they will suffer the highest attrition rates because they will be expendable fodder. My volunteers are worth my time, these sub-humans are not and they will know the hatred towards them. If they were Federation as an example then I would make sure they are well treated, these are illegal combatants and have to be treated as such" answered Petrofski.
"Some valid points, let them serve on a demon world. Let it bake the insubordination out of them. They will either emerge loyal troops or they will not emerge at all" replied Heath. "Toasty, it works for me" answered Petrofski, "there's a few ice worlds that need clearing and exploring to claim in the name of the Empire, the oven or the Freezer, their choice" he said afterwards pointing at three systems on the outer edges of Imperial space. Heath smiled and replied "You will have among the most hardened troops in the end. If they survive, then they worthy to serve Empire." "Darwinian process, let nature clean the weeds out and may whatever deity they believe in show some mercy." answered Petrofski. "You a religious man?" asked Heath. "I am ma'am" answered Petrofski. "What faith?" asked Heath. "Russian Orthodox Christian, ma'am" answered Petrofski, "my wife is Protestant Christian" he said afterwards. "Faith is the most important strength as a leader" replied Heath. "My troops see that as a lucky omen, soldiers are a superstitious bunch at best of times" answered Petrofski smiling.
"Your report on the Bajoran soldiers are most interesting" said Heath smiling. "Good fighters for a spiritual people, I'm honored to have them in the army. When asked to do something, they don't complain but instead just get on with it. They are brave and have courage and that is respected. The lads get on with them and see them as fellow warriors of the Empress, you should see the kill tallies between the Terrans and Bajorans. It's like they have a friendly competition going. They're crazy but my kind of crazy, Sgt Celes Dellas despite being wounded twice carried Private Huxley to an aid station and she refused treatment so she could get more wounded. She saved 25 lives by her actions before she passed out from her wounds, I'm recommending her for the Empire's highest award for courage and valor. She's currently resting in hospital recovering from her stunt, she leads by example and that has earned her a field commission to Lt. She'll be a good platoon commander" replied Petrofski. "Which hospital?" asked Heath. "Shir'Kahr veteran's hospital" answered Petrofski. "One more thing, your ship. Why is she the only one of her class?" asked Heath. "The Moskva is a modern redesign of the classic Excelsior, she's one of a line of new heavy cruisers. I just happened to commandeer her" answered Petrofski. "I want those ships put into production" replied Heath, "Regent, you are dismissed" she said afterwards. "Ma'am" answered Petrofski bowing in respect before he returned to the Moskva.
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. Regent Petrofski had just returned from his meeting with the Empress, "Mario, we've got some bad news" said Regent Smith-Petrofski handing her husband a PADD. "This is addressed to Omaya's sister Pel" replied Petrofski. "Her brother and only family left was killed in action this morning, since you were a friend of his, you needed to know" answered Smith-Petrofski. "We're going to have to break the bad news to her" replied Petrofski. "She cannot go into an orphanage, we have to help" answered Smith-Petrofski. "You suggesting we adopt her as our own daughter?" asked Petrofski. "It's the right thing to do, going into an orphanage would destroy her" answered Smith-Petrofski. "Then we do it legally, Jas you've always been a humanitarian at heart" replied Petrofski. "Let's break the bad news to her, something I don't like doing" answered Smith-Petrofski. Both Regents went to pick Pel up from school and at the palace they broke the bad news to her.
After wiping the tears, Pel asked "Where does this leave me?" "We made a promise to your brother that if anything happened to him then we would look after you and make sure you are well cared for" answered Smith-Petrofski passing Pel a letter from her brother. "He trusts you, may I ask how did he fall?" asked Pel. "Your brother was killed carrying his wounded comrades to an aid post. I can't tell you exactly what happened because it happened so fast. He died a hero so others may live" answered Petrofski. "Pel, legally this puts you in a bad spot. Because of your age, you would be sent to an orphanage. We don't want to see you destroyed by them. We're offering you a room here, how would you feel about living with us full-time?" asked Smith-Petrofski. "I need time to think about this, I have a choice?" asked Pel. "You do" answered Petrofski. "You've both been kind, you gave me a place to stay while Omaya was away" replied Pel. "We look after each other. Pel, legally you are too young to be without an adult guardian. We can put a call in about adopting you as you were our own daughter, an orphanage is no place for you" answered Smith-Petrofski.
"Can I still practice my faith and culture?" asked Pel. "Of course, me and my husband are of faith. Freedom of religion and culture is one of the cornerstones of our society" answered Smith-Petrofski. "We have a chapel here in the palace, we can always have a Bajoran shrine set up in the chapel for you" added Petrofski. "Thank you, your kind offer is accepted. I need to rest" answered Pel before she went to her room. All the Petrofskis heard was sobbing from Pel's room and Smith-Petrofski knocked on the door and asked "is everything alright?" "I want alone time" answered Pel and Smith-Petrofski respected Pel's wishes. "Jas, when are you seeing the Empress?" asked Petrofski. "Tomorrow, I'll be discussing the constitution with her" answered Smith-Petrofski. "You could ask the Empress about fast tracking Pel's adoption, that poor girl needs all the support she can get" replied Petrofski. "It is one of the cornerstones of our faith, show love and kindness to others" answered Smith-Petrofski. "That it is" replied Petrofski. The next day, Smith-Petrofski flew to the Los Lobos when she arrived at Terra and after being scanned was shown to the Empress.
On Terra, Petrofski helped Pel with her school work. "These sums are too hard" complained Pel as Petrofski looked over them. "To make it easier, do you want these translated into Bajoran?" asked Petrofski. "It's not that, these sums are too complex" answered Pel. "They're quite simple, you're just used to letting the calculator do all the working out. Mental arithmetic is a skill you have to master. Arithmetic is not difficult, it's a vital skill" replied Petrofski. "It's too hard" answered Pel. "Keep focused on your sums, your mind is wandering" replied Petrofski. "Will my brother's name go into the hall of heroes?" asked Pel. "His name will, your brother is with the Prophets. They will look after his pah" answered Petrofski. "At least he's with family in the celestial temple" replied Pel. "If you want, we can take a break" answered Petrofski. "Please" replied Pel. "What do you want to do?" asked Petrofski. "I don't know" answered Pel. "Let's find something for you" replied Petrofski before he and Pel went to the chapel.

Regent Smith-Petrofski was asked to sit down by Heath. "When I first heard of this, it caught my interest" said Heath reading over the Terran Constitution. "This is the economic report for Terra as well" said Smith-Petrofski. "Productivity is up and there's a fairer wage system in place so workers are fairly paid, how is this funded?" asked Heath. "I had several industrial and commercial companies shut down and nationalized so their profits are used to help their workers. Corporation tax and and increased taxation of the wealthy has been brought in, it's fair that those who hoard their blood money should be made to share the wealth" answered Smith-Petrofski. "Corruption has gone down by 90%, what's your punishment for those who are corrupt?" asked Heath. "Stripped of everything but the clothes on their back and forced to live in the same slums that they forced their workers to live in" answered Smith-Petrofski. "Equal rights for all Citizens and universal access to to education and healthcare, a healthy standard of living and the families of serving soldiers are looked after a reward for their loved one's service to the Empire" replied Heath, "Does this extend to Terrans who live off-world and all citizens who reside on Terra?" asked Heath afterwards.
"Any citizen who can trace their ancestry to Terra is covered by the Constitution, all Imperial citizens residing on Terra are covered as well. I also brought in social reforms and now all classes have a seat on the planetary government" answered Smith-Petrofski. "How long have you worked on this?" asked Heath. "Since the new leadership in government on Terra, first thing I did was to visit the slums and talk to the people. Some of the stories I heard was enough to put this together" answered Smith-Petrofski. "I'll sign this into law, this is some excellent work" replied Heath signing the Terran Constitution. Smith-Petrofski then asked Heath about fast-tracking an adoption through. "You and your husband are looking into adoption" replied Heath. "We are, we've been taking care of a Bajoran orphan as a favor for a friend, her name is Denaros Pel" answered Smith-Petrofski. "Being a parent isn't about genetics, it's about love. If she has no other family, then why deprive her of one that will openly care for her? You'll just get used to hasperath" replied Heath. "Her family were found deceased in a grave pit, she saw everything. Her only remaining family being killed action saving the lives of his fellow soldiers has not helped. Me and my husband don't want to see her in an orphanage. We made a promise to her brother that if anything happened to him then we would take her in and show her that there is love and kindness in the universe. One of the core beliefs of our faith is showing kindness to others, Pel is free to practice her faith and culture. We're giving her an area in the chapel for her to pray to the Prophets" answered Smith-Petrofski.
"All children need love and to know that their safe above all else" replied Heath. "She's loved by both me and my husband. Mario helps her out with her school work and takes her around cultural sights sightseeing" answered Smith-Petrofski, "I'm worried about Pel, one the surface she's a tough girl but deep down, she's upset but won't show it. I heard her sobbing all night but she wanted alone time, I may have to request Doctor Lot speak with her. Pel needs a counselor though she won't ask for the help, all this has caused her grades to drop in school and it's not good for her. We want to see her get better" she said afterwards. "Adoption approved, you and your husband are now Denaros Pel's legal guardians" replied Heath. "Thank you ma'am" answered Smith-Petrofski. "Regent, congratulations to you and your husband" replied Heath noticing Smith-Petrofski's bump. "Thank you Majesty" answered Smith-Petrofski. "Regent, I'll leave you to get back to governing Terra. Dismissed" replied Heath. "Ma'am" answered Smith-Petrofski before she flew back to Terra in her shuttle. Los Lobos-A then left for a war council meeting with Regent Solat. At the Regent's Palace, the Petrofskis formally welcomed Pel into the family, "Thank you to both of you, if you would not mind, I would like to retain my family name" asked Pel. "Your choice, it's up to you" answered Smith-Petrofski. "Thank you mama" replied Pel hugging Smith-Petrofski. "I've got work to do" said Petrofski giving Smith-Petrofski his shipping out orders. "Papa, come back alive" said Pel. "Yes ma'am" replied Petrofski before he left for his ship.
Three days later, Petrofski watched the finishing touches being put onto the I.S.S. Dragon near Ganymede. "The original was lost due to her commander underestimating one Federation Captain. Her captain was presumably killed along with the crew when the ship was lost" said The engineer in charge of rebuild. "When will she be ready?" asked Petrofski. "She'll be ready to launch in 12 hours, sir" answered his engineer. "If this works, you and your crews are in for a pay rise" replied Petrofski. "She'll work" answered the engineer. Twelve hours later, the Dragon launched and the test results were impressive. "I'll take her, chief, you and your crews pay has gone up by 20%. You all earned it" said Petrofski smiling. "Thank you sir, the crews all heard it. They send their thanks and wish you godspeed sir" replied the engineer have Petrofski shook his hand. "Chief, those new heavy cruisers. The Empress has ordered them into full production, Terran workmanship will be professional and done to a high standard. I want Terran built ships to be the best built and best quality in the entire Empire and fleet" answered Petrofski. "Sir" chorused the engineering crews. Petrofski transferred his flag to the newly christened "I.S.S. Dragon IX-90487." On the bridge, Petrofski read the the dedication plaque and smiled, it read ""When the people forget their duty they are no longer human and become something less than beasts. They have no place in the bosom of humanity, nor in the heart of the Emperor. Let them die and be forgotten."

Leaving Omega to defend Terra, Regent Petrofski looked over the map of the system. "Interesting" noted Petrofski as a schematic of Acheron's defense were displayed on his display. "They've evacuated their fleet but left the system defended by a starbase and ground defenses planetside" replied Captain Dawson. "Good, let's give them a demonstration of the weapon. Hail the rebel commander" ordered Petrofski. "The the w**** of Bajor has sent one of her collaborators, what are that Sub-Human's demands?" asked the rebel commander arrogantly. "Your surrender, we know you deployed a WMD to destroy a loyal colony. Surrender now and the Empress may grant you your lives, resist and face total obliteration. Your choice" answered Petrofski. "Never going to happen, you'll have to blast us out" replied the rebel commander. "Your choice, you will see what this battle station can do" answered Petrofski before signalling tactical to fire the quantum phase lance.
The Dragon fired and soon the starbase in orbit of Acheron along with the rebel garrison aboard it were reduced to floating debris after one shot of the lance. The rebels on the ground saw the destruction of their starbase and soon turned on their commander. The rebels then unconditionally surrendered knowing they were no match for the Dragon, Acheron had been liberated after the Empire's demonstration and soon the prisoners were being marched through Moscow on their way to prison camps in Siberia. Those who repented were conscripted into the military, the fanatics were soon transferred to Terra X after their cases were processed.
At the Regent Palace, Petrofski was greeted by Regent Smith-Petrofski and Pel and he just smiled. "Boys and their toys" commented Smith-Petrofski smiling. "She's not a toy" answered Petrofski. "You sure?" asked Smith-Petrofski. "I'm sure" answered Petrofski, "and how's Pel today?" he asked Pel afterwards. "Been better papa" answered Pel. "She's been showing the chefs how to make Hasparath" said Smith-Petrofski. "Are they up to scratch?" asked Petrofski. "Not yet, one of them thought because he could down a ghost pepper, he could cope with a Hasparath pepper" answered Pel, "Hasparath is a lot hotter than a ghost pepper. Ghost peppers are mild" she said afterwards. "What happened to the chef who tried a bit of Hasparath pepper?" asked Petrofski. "He went all sorts of different colors and expressions" answered Pel laughing, "he was a wimp about it" she said afterwards. The Petrofskis just smiled as Pel brought Petrofski her school reports, "Not bad but your grades could be better. After you have been to counseling, what do you want to do?" asked Petrofski. "I don't know, family time with just us" answered Pel. "That sounds fair" replied Smith-Petrofski. "Well CSKA Moscow are playing Zenit St. Petersburg in the football" answered Petrofski. "Can we watch the football?" asked Pel. "We can" answered Petrofski. Pel then left for her room and soon returned wearing a CSKA Moscow shirt.
"Mario, did you get her the shirt of your favorite team?" asked Smith-Petrofski. "I may have done" answered Petrofski. "They're a good team" said Pel. "Let's get you to counseling, remember be honest with your feelings" replied Smith-Petrofski. "Pel, be brave" added Petrofski before the counselor arrived. "I will be brave, thanks mama an thanks papa" replied Pel.

(PLV Temporal Lapras) *Raven, will Valdez accept the help of a liberated Borg cyberwarfare/defense specialist?*
To: Simba/Nala
Subject: Operation: Toothless
Your Majesties, the operation will commence shortly after preliminary recon of the Hurq's course to Empersa and the Dominion defenses. My mate will use a dilithium lure as bait to keep KDF forces from participating in this. This will give us the time we need to deploy a legion of dragons from Berk via interdimensional portals. So far, the Alliance hasn't known about it yet. Odo's forces are barely holding the line so we need to make sure we can destroy Hurq logisitics in 1 attack. I will use a newly acquired Damar class dreadnought/palace ship as a flagship for this. It's a good thing the Cardassians allowed me to transfer my throne room into the ship. Wish my mate and me luck in this.
Your admiral/ally,
Sapph

Federation or non-aligned?
If the Liberated Drone can be trusted (that's important) then Valdez would pair the drone up with his daughter and see how well they work together as a team though Trianna (yellow) may approve of some friendly competition to see who's the best at breaking into computers (Borg efficiency vs Creativity).

He's also aligned with the Pride Landers (serving under Simba/Nala) so non-Federation despite his COs being former Federation.

Raven, Teran Drakebane can be trusted, but be careful. He has little experience working with Humans due to being around a Pokemon crew for years.

Then it would be classed as a first contact situation, Valdez is one of them who will read a culture's history to get a clue how they operate as a society and how they operate militarily before opening talks with them.
Valdez would also need permission from his superiors as well before any diplomatic options are considered. That's the way he operates and catching him at home is a bad idea, his home is his sanctuary and he's usually on grand dad duty helping his girls by watching the terrors.

"Morning ladies and gentlemen" said Petrofski before he took his seat. "Regent, our operatives in the Prime universe found something of concern to the Empress" said Captain Joanna Dawson (red). "They don't give up these people. The only way they'll give up is with the Empire falling" answered Petrofski reading the schematics of the U.S.S. Dragon, "so Section 31 intend to attack us with a Battle Station" he commented afterwards. "It will start a war" replied Captain Dawson. "A war that won't end well for the Federation, expect an escort fleet to be with that battle station" answered Petrofski. "We have the only ship capable of matching the Section 31 battle station in terms of defense and fire power. Our escort fleets deal with the Section 31 escort fleet while we take on the Dragon if the attack comes" advised Captain Dawson. "Captain, have our operatives in position to report that battle station's movements" ordered Petrofski. "Sir" answered Captain Dawson. Petrofski then smiled knowing that Section 31 had been infiltrated by his operatives.
Petrofski made sure that the new intel on Section 31's battle station was sent straight to the Empress via secure subspace. "They expect total surprise but they will be falling into a trap" he noted afterwards. Meanwhile on the colony world of Olinda, Smith and his Tunnel rats were working with Imperial forces burning out rebels from their strongholds as Imperial infantry backed by air power cleared each stronghold one at a time. The losses were heavy with 9,000 Imperials either killed or wounded out of a force of 35,000, Smith irate at the heavy losses put a full report to the Empress on the battle and high Imperial casualties due to the mishandling of forces by General Lord. Lord had wasted 9,000 troops just to capture 6,000 prisoners and soon he was relieved of command by Regent Petrofski and exiled to a penal unit fighting on the ice world of Lorn III. He was replaced by General Chard who had a warning not to waste troops by attacking fortifications head on.
When Smith got back to Terra, he was greeted by Petrofski. "Nice toy" said Smith smiling. "The Dragon is not a toy" answered Petrofski as they walked to the lounge in the Regent palace. "Mario, did you get my sister pregnant?" asked Smith when he saw Smith-Petrofski. "Totally unplanned" answered Petrofski. "Congratulations to both of you" replied Smith smiling. "Thanks Dexter, we've also adopted a Bajoran, Dexter, meet your niece Pel" answered Petrofski introducing Pel to Smith. "Papa, is he my uncle?" asked Pel to Petrofski. "He is, he's Jasmine's older brother" answered Petrofski. "Dexter, how's Mereu doing?" asked Smith-Petrofski. "She's doing well, Jas, we have a son on the way. Mereu being Mereu though has been very hormonal and pregnant Orions are a nightmare, I don't get away with my old antics any more but that said, I love her to bits" answered Smith smiling. Smith-Petrofski laughed and answered "you married her because you love her. Congratulations to the both of you." "Thanks Jas, your little one, son or daughter?" asked Smith.
"Wait and see" answered Smith-Petrofski. "How's mum doing?" asked Smith. "Mum's doing well, when she found out that me and Mario had adopted, she was proud. She treats Pel like a grand daughter" answered Smith-Petrofski. "Grandma is kind but can be strict" said Pel. "Mother is like that, she means well" replied Smith. "Mama said the same thing, where's grandpa?" asked Pel. "Pel, me and Jasmine's father is in prison, he was a bad man. We do not want anything to do with him" answered Smith. "Then he should stay there" replied Pel. "Agreed, you are very opinionated. How old are you?" asked Smith. "Nine" answered Pel. "Mario, is this the child you and your troops saved from Caleb IV?" asked Smith. "She is, her family was taken away from her by savages. Her brother Omaya was killed on Olinda evacuating wounded" answered Petrofski. "Pel, speaking as a Terran. I am sorry to hear about what happened, those were the actions of cowards and savages. Your brother once saved my life during the Dominion War, it's sad to hear that he was killed in action. You have my condolences" replied Smith. "Thank you, your sister and Mario have shown great kindness taking me in and raising me like I'm their own child" answered Pel. "That's good, these are kind people" replied Smith. "It's past my bedtime" answered Pel. "It is young lady, you've got school tomorrow" said Petrofski. "Yes papa" answered Pel before she went to her room. "Good kid" commented Smith afterwards.

Regent Petrofski was briefing his troops on their next objectives in the Imperial campaign of reconquest, already INN were calling it the Imperial Reconquista and the Petrofskis called the Imperial Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon due to their near religious zeal to bring the rebel worlds back into the Imperial fold. Petrofski activated a holo display of the world of Verdent Prime, "Three days ago, the enemy effected a siege of the key agricultural world of Verdent Prime. The system is under tight blockade and there are over half a million citizens under siege, enemy troops have begun landing and are advancing on the capital from these three directions" said Petrofski highlighting the map, "our job is to break that siege, if Verdent Prime falls then the Empire loses it's key bread basket for the Sol and Vulcan Sectors. Enemy number are high with some estimates at over 70,000 troops, in light of the siege, the Empress has allocated 200,000 troops to breaking this siege" he said afterwards.
"Getting the lads through that blockade will be difficult" commented one soldier to another. "I know you all have concerns about this, I do too. We all know what savages do to their prisoners, our objective is to land, resupply and reinforce the garrison of Imperial and Militia. I know deep down that all of you here are aware how dangerous this is, as soldiers, we protect the citizenry and sometimes even at the cost of lives to us. Those 500,000 trapped citizens are counting on us to break the siege as are the brave regulars and militia, we cannot fail. I will be the first one out of the landing craft when we land and last one on the landing craft when we leave, " said Petrofski. The gathered soldiers all were reassured by that, "Those of you who are religious, now would be a good time to make peace with your maker and everyone, make a final will and testament to your families" finished Petrofski openly and honestly. The newer volunteers were given a shock to the system but they were reassured by the veterans. "Only reason I enlisted was so my family would be proud of me" commented Private Howard to a veteran. "Do you family proud and fight well, when told to do something, don't hesitate. Keep a cool head and focus on what you are doing and you'll get through this alive" advised Sgt Lockhart. "Thanks Sgt" answered Private Howard.
"All of you are dismissed, do not discuss this outside of this room and be aware there is a communications blackout until we finished the operation" said Petrofski. "Sir" chorused the soldiers as they neatly filed out of the room in order. Later that day, Petrofski noticed some of the Bajoran troops had set up a Bajoran shrine in a corner of the ship chapel. "Might as well make peace with my maker" though Petrofski before he entered the chapel. "Lads, mind if I join you?" asked Petrofski to some Bajoran troops. "Making peace with your maker, sir?" asked one Bajoran. "I am" answered Petrofski. "Sir, permission to speak freely?" asked one Bajoran. "Granted Private" answered Petrofski. "I joined because I wanted to avenge my people who are dying because of these things" replied the Bajoran. "Vengeance is a powerful weapon, but it's also a two-edged sword at the same time, it cuts both ways" answered Petrofski. "Vengeance is also necessity, Bajorans fight because of it" replied the Bajoran. "Fighting for your emissary even more so, our enemies are feeling the wrath of the emissary and we are the instruments of her wrath" answered Petrofski. That provoked some smiles from the Bajoran troops, "Sir, may the Prophets watch over you" said one Bajoran. "God bless you all" replied Petrofski back. "The Regent is a religious man" commented a Bajoran smiling. "Faith is what keeps us going" countered Petrofski smiling. Petrofski then shared a prayer with the Bajorans and retired to his office.
U.S.S. Dragon (prime)
The mirror operatives aboard covertly received their orders to leave quietly, after stealing the schematics of the Dragon and planting a hidden tracking device, they left in a shuttle on a "recon". Once they were away from the system, cloaked then linked up with an Imperial intelligence ship and made their way to the border, the shuttle was destroyed y auto-destruct and the computer wiped in a way that made it look like the core breach corrupted the computer. After evading Alliance patrols, they arrived aboard the I.S.S. Dragon and handed Petrofski the schematics of the U.S.S. Dragon. "Gentlemen, thank you. Officially this never happened, no one is to know about this. You will all undergo mind wipes and put to work on more pressing issues" said Petrofski. "I hope this is to your expectations" said Operative Neva. "It is, the Empress will be most interested in this, dismissed" replied Petrofski smiling.

The Imperial fleet formed up on the outskirts of the system pulling asteroids behind them, Petrofski then using the composition of the rocks to hide his assault ships ordered the diversionary attack on the rebel fleet as the landing ships jumped in under the galactic plane and awaited the signal to begin their landings. "Drone operators, set transporter beacons to target organic only. Let's reduce the opposition, all tactical officers on the landing ships, set weapons to stun" ordered Petrofski over a secure channel. "All ships are ready" reported Captain Dawson. "Commence the assault" ordered Petrofski. The fleets opened their assault at 1400 hours with a blast from the Dragon's quantum phase lance which tore through and destroyed three rebel battleships outright, the Dragon then opened up with pulse phaser fire which tore through the rebel fleet as they moved to intercept the rocks.
It was a trap as Imperial ships decloaked and tore into the rebel ships. "Regent, godspeed" said Captain Dawson, Petrofski just smiled and went to suit up as the infantry moved to their landing craft. "Drones, commence your attacks. Bombardment group, open fire on the enemy positions" ordered Captain Dawson. Petrofski taking command of the landing briefed his pilots and soon the troops were ready as landing craft carrying the infantry, artillery support and armor deployed from the Dragon. Petrofski was in the lead landing craft as they skimmed the surface of Verdent Prime to keep below the enemy sensor grid, "Verdent City is 15 clicks, you better signal the defenders that we're on our way" reported Isoisa. "Progress on the situation in orbit?" asked Petrofski. "The rebel fleet has been pulled out of position, rebel forces on the ground are under air attack and orbital attack" reported Isoisa. "Excellent, put me through to the colony governor" ordered Petrofski. "Things are getting bad down here, you have to relieve us" said the colony governor. "We're 15 clicks out, hold your positions" replied Petrofski as the city came into view. "We see you, we'll have safe landing zones set up ready" answered the governor. "Governor, we'll speak in person when we land" replied Petrofski. "Yes Regent" answered the governor and the screen went blank. "Signal all pilots to commence the landings" ordered Petrofski.
The troop ships were followed closely by the supply ships as the troops began to land and form a perimeter. Petrofski true to his word was the first Imperial to set foot onto the landing zone as the troops set up transporter pads for the second wave. When the Imperial relief force entered the city, the defenders cheered as food, medical supplies, heavy weapons and ammunition was transported into the city's main square. "Regent, thank you for the relief" said the colony governor handing command of the defense over to Petrofski. "Since all able bodied men are required on the front line, I need the women to be conscripted as nurses and support personnel" ordered Petrofski. "We need some to stay and protect the children" advised the governor. "Make sure they are armed and know their job" replied Petrofski. "Sir" answered the governor as troops began moving the supplies to areas that needed them the most. "Fleet to Regent, the rebel fleet has been crippled. We can bring the rest of our forces in" reported Captain Dawson four hours into the battle in orbit. "Start evacuating the civilians, those who cannot fight, women and children first. All able bodied men are conscripted to fight" ordered Petrofski. "Sir" answered Captain Dawson. With the civilians being transported to Imperial ships and later to Vulcan and Terra, the women and children before they were beamed up bid their loved ones farewell and that they would meet again.
With the civilian population being evacuated, the supply problems were less of an issue as the second wave of Imperial troops landed to reinforce the defenders. Verdent City's garrison was now in position to mount their defense as rebel infantry attempted to rush the Imperial positions. "Here they come, I want to see one shot, one kill. They mean to kill us so we must kill them first" said Petrofski to the troops as the night sky was lit up by weapons fire. Verdent Prime had been relieved but the ground battle was far from over. Petrofski then set up a secure link to the Los Lobos and updated the Empress on the landings, "Ma'am, troops are on the ground. The fleet has also achieved orbital supremacy, we have the rebel ground forces trapped on the surface." "Status on the civilian population?" asked Heath. "Evacuated, the men have been conscripted to serve in the defense of their city" answered Petrofski. "Keep the enemy pinned where they are, hold that city at all costs" ordered Heath as she heard the weapons fire from the front line. "Ma'am" answered Petrofski. Petrofski then joined his men on the front line and fought alongside them as the rebels mounted another push.
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. "This is Mira Wrel reporting from the front line, last night, the traitors launched assault after assault on our brave troops. Our lines are still holding and as we look over last night's battlefield, we can still hear the groans of the traitor wounded. Our troops have taken losses but they still fight as honored soldiers of the Empire" said the INN reporter as rebel artillery opened up on the Imperial positions. The Imperial defenders had to keep their heads down as the sound of rebel armor and infantry was heard through the morning fog. Petrofski immediately ordered his artillery to commence counter-battery fire as both sides' artillery dueled each other, Petrofski then signaled his armor to be ready to counter-attack once the rebel armor was separated from their infantry support. "Any news on our patrols?" asked Petrofski to a Bajoran officer. "Nothing yet sir" answered Major Ro. "Movement on the perimeter, one life sign, Bajoran" reported Private Hodges. Petrofski took a look and realized that only man had returned and immediately he asked for four volunteers to go with him. What happened next was seen all over the Empire as Petrofski and four men moved out to retrieve their comrade.
All the INN news crew heard was "covering fire" being ordered as Petrofski and his group linked up with the wounded Bajoran. "Hodges, Howard, get that man to safety. Brookes, Garsight, you two provide covering fire with me" ordered Petrofski. "Sir" chorused the volunteers as they followed the order. As Hodges and Howard grabbed the wounded Bajoran and ran, Petrofski, Brookes and Garsight maintained a fighting withdrawal acting as a rearguard. "What we are witnessing here is the bravery of those brave men" the Mira as she reported live on INN, the cameras recorded everything as Petrofski and his group got the wounded Bajoran to a first aid post. "Good job lads, return to your positions" ordered Petrofski before Brooks, Garsight, Hodges and Howard gave a polite nod. "I need to find out what happened to that patrol" thought Petrofski before he went to speak with the wounded Bajoran. "Sir, I'd salute but I'm in no condition to" said the soldier. "No need Mr Wrel" answered Petrofski, "what happened?" he asked afterwards. "We were ambushed, they managed to overwhelm us and capture us alive. The Bajorans were sacrificed in the name of the Pah Wraiths and the Terrans were buried alive after being set on fire" answered Private Wrel, "I only barely managed to escape" he said afterwards. "Mr Wrel, thank you for your report. Rest and recover, that's an order" replied Petrofski. "Sir" answered Wrel. "Sir, enemy movement, we have armor supported by infantry heading towards our lines on the left and right flanks. Enemy infantry is also pushing on our center" reported an officer to Petrofski.
"Even numbered batteries, focus fire on the enemy armor. Separate the infantry from their supporting armor" ordered Petrofski. "Sir" answered the officer as Petrofski studied the enemy attack before giving the armored units their moving out orders. He then requested air support to knock out the rebel artillery positions as the forward lines of trenches were remorselessly blasted. "Pull back to the second line, once the enemy is past our former positions, rain hell on them" ordered Petrofski. The Imperial defenders under the cover of air support made a organized withdrawal to the city outskirts, buildings were fortified as best the defenders could and the basements were made into bunker positions. Petrofski was luring the rebel armor into a battlefield where their mobility was limited, as the rebel armored assault bore down on the defenders, Petrofski watch carefully and when the armor was separated from the infantry, Imperial infantry with heavy weapons opened fire on the rebel tanks as the infantry were being picked off by Imperial sharpshooters. Fighting raged all day as the Imperal defenders made the rebels pay for every inch of ground. All over the Empire, the battle was played on INN as the citizens watched the battle on their screens. Aboard Los Lobos, Heath watched the day's fighting as did her crew and did a prayer to the Prophets to watch over her brave and honorable troops. "Fight well brave warriors" said Doctor Lot as the former Federation crew watched the battle on their monitors.
-Lord Commander Solar Macharius
The Imperial defenders of Verdent City were tired and exhausted, for four days, they had fought of assault after assault on their positions as the rebels were ground down by the defenders. The rebels now down to their last 30,000 infantry made a last assault on the Imperial defenders as the battlefield was littered with wrecked tanks and dead or dying rebels. Their groans were heard by the defenders who routinely picked of the rebel walking wounded. It was no better on the Imperial side as the defenders had been pushed back to their third line of defense. Petrofski knew the battle was coming to an end as he got word that the rebel commander wished to talk negotiations for the defenders' surrender, Petrofski had the messenger killed and sent back to the rebel commander with a note saying "no surrender." The rebel commander immediately ordered a final assault on the defenders in the hopes of capturing the Imperial supplies.
At 0400, flares lit up the sky as the attack went in. The defenders maintained a wall of fire but still the rebel infantry pushed through despite their comrades being gunned down around them and launched a charge on the defenders' lines. It came down to hand to hand fighting as dagger, knife and anything to hand became weapons. The Imperial infantry fought with ferocity and a promise never to surrender, Petrofski was in the thick of it running through rebels with his sword as his troops pushed forward. No quarter was given nor asked as the battle became a brawl with prisoners not being taken by either side. The Bajorans fought like tigers as they clubbed, stabbed and slashed at the rebels. Petrofski had joined them and he led by example leading a charge into the rebel infantry, by the end of the day's fighting, the rebels withdrew having run out of ammunition and soon they found that their supplies had been captured by Petrofski's reserves who had captured their base camp. Faced with starvation, the rebel commander marched towards the Imperial lines and bearing a white flag, he gave the order to his troops to surrender and lay down their arms. Petrofski was not there to see it since he was at the aid station getting a severe leg wound treated.
INN proclaimed Verdent Prime a victory as the final casualty bill was counted. It was severe, the defenders had lost over 12,000 men either KIA, WIA or MIA during their heroic defense. Rebel losses were over 25,000 dead with 45,000 taken prisoner. Once the system was reinforced with fresh troops, Petrofski true to his word made sure that all Imperial dead were accounted for and passed his commanders instructions from his bed. During the mopping up operations, Imperial troops found a shrine soaked in blood. The Bajorans had found a shrine to the Pah Wraith and the bodies of Imperial troops sacrificed to the Pah Wraith. When Petrofski heard the news, he ordered that everything be documented and the shrine was put to the plasmathrowers after all evidence was recovered. Petrofski was then the last Imperial defender to leave as his men helped him up onto the shuttle. The Battle for Verdent Prime had also taken the fight out of the rebellion and soon the leaders of the rebellion, forced by the loss of their last fleet and all of their remaining ground forces had to sue for peace with the Empire. The rebellion was over with the last rebel worlds surrendering to Imperial forces as the last hold outs were hunted down and killed by the Hirogen. Imperial justice had been served.
For Petrofski, he returned to Terra to recover and when he got home, Pel ran up. Petrofski sat down and gave his daughter a hug. "Papa, you kept your promise" said Pel smiling. "Pel, I've missed you so much" replied Petrofski trying to ignore the painful leg wound. "Papa, you're hurt" answered Pel. "I'll live, my doctors have told me to rest so I'll be home for quite a while. How's your mother been?" asked Petrofski afterwards. "Worried, we saw the fighting on INN. Papa, the other children in my class call you a hero, Mama called you totally insane for saving that Bajoran soldier" answered Pel. "I'm going to be honest with you, I'm no hero. The men who died fighting along their brothers in arms and those who were wounded are the true heroes" replied Petrofski. When Jasmine arrived from her meeting, she gave her husband a kiss and told him that he was insane. "Mario, you are going to get some rest" said Jasmine afterwards. "The leg is fine, you're worrying" replied Petrofski. "Bed now mister" answered Jasmine. "Yes dearest, this leg is painful at best. Guess I won't be on my feet for a while" replied Petrofski. "Mario, well fought" answered Jasmine afterwards. "Papa, love you" said Pel. "Love you too little one" answered Petrofski as he gave Pel one last hug before he hobbled to bed. For Smith, Ibarid and Isoisa, they returned to Brea III (prime) and to a hero's welcome from their freinds and family. For the captured rebels, the Inquisition had plans for them as a Section 31 operative was one of those captured. Petrofski briefed Heath via secure channel on what his troops had found and it caused concern, "Regent, get some rest and recover, that's an order" said Heath. "Ma'am" answered Petrofski, "with respect, you remind me of my wife. She told me bed now, mister" he joked afterwards.

Regent Petrofski was discussing over a secure channel to Heath how to deal with the the captured rebel prisoners from his bed. "Pah Wraith worshipers, this is a concern" said Heath. "I'm no expert on the Bajoran culture and beliefs, what's a Pah Wraith?" asked Petrofski. "Think of them as your faith's devil, they feed off death and suffering" answered Heath. "When the lads found that shrine, the Bajoran troops did not want to go anywhere near it. It was like they were terrified of the place, it was blood soaked and we found out what those cultists did to captured Imperial troops. They were killed by being sacrificed to these Pah Wraith" replied Petrofski. "Be on alert, the Pah Wraith are a threat never to be underestimated. What do you intend to do to them?" asked Heath. "Burn them at the stake as heretics" answered Petrofski. "Don't, you will be only feeding the Pah Wraith" advised Heath. "Yes ma'am" answered Petrofski, "they will be handed over to the Inquisition" he said afterwards. "The Inquisition's job is to protect the Empire by any means necessary" replied Heath.
"What do we do about the Section 31 operatives captured? They've been here supporting dissent and insurrection for the last year or so" asked Petrofski. "Hand them over to Admiral Lot, she has ways of breaking them" replied Heath. "I hope Naynta enjoys her gifts" joked Petrofski. "She will, she loves the challenge" answered Heath smiling. "Make them suffer" recommended Petrofski. "Naynta can be creative, trust me on that" answered Heath. "The infamous Admiral Lot, oh well. It's a bad day to be on her bad side" replied Petrofski. "What is being done about the rebel POWs?" asked Heath. "The die hards have been deported to Terra 10 and the rest conscripted into the army. I have instructed the commissars to shoot any conscript who refuses to fight as examples to instill fear. Those conscripts will fear the commissar more than they will fear the enemy" answered Petrofski. "Weeding out the weak, creative. Do you care that most of those conscripts will die?" asked Heath afterwards. "Not in the slightest, I can sleep well at night knowing that those animals are being showed the error of their poor decisions" answered Petrofski, "I only want the strong, the weak can die for all I care" he said afterwards. "As you put in your recommendations, you are cutting the wheat from the chaff. Your words exactly" replied Heath. "Let nature do the work for us, mother nature can be very unforgiving" answered Petrofski. "Thank you for that report, how's your leg recovering?" asked Heath. "I won't be on my feet for a few days but that said, it means I can spend more time with Pel" answered Petrofski. "Make the best use of that time" advised Heath. "I am" replied Petrofski. "I understand you put a request though to the governor of Verdent Prime, can you elaborate on those?" asked Heath.
"I was impressed by Governor Reed, his troops fought well and held their ground long enough for relief to get to their position. I want to reward him and his troops for their courage by inviting them to raise a Verdent Prime Infantry Division and making Governor Reed a general. I also asked that the battlefield be preserved for future generations as the place where the rebellion finally broke" answered Petrofski. "That can be arranged, your men have earned that. Future generations will learn about the heroic defense of Verdent City as the seven days that the Terran people regained their honor" replied Heath. "Thank you ma'am, I pass your congratulations to the lads" answered Petrofski. "One more thing, thank you for evacuating my children during the yellow Empire's war with the Borg" replied Heath. "They dodged a bullet, a week after they were evacuated, the Borg attacked Betazed. Betazed was saved by the courage of Imperial troops and our allies, I can report that the Borg have been pushed out of most of the galaxy and the collective is in anarchy. Turns out, they did not expect to be defeated in the biggest cyber attack in galactic history" answered Petrofski. "Operation Checkmate, I read the report" replied Heath. "The Borg collective is no more, billions of drones are free and have formed a co-operative" answered Petrofski. "Regent, I'll leave you to your family time, Los Lobos out" replied Heath and the screen went blank. Pel then ran into the room armed with a Monopoly board and Petrofski smiled. Jasmine just stood at the door watching and smiling as Pel and Petrofski spent father/daughter quality time together.
"Who's winning?" asked Jasmine. "Papa owes me two and a half thousand, he landed on my hotels" answered Pel followed by a "pay up." "I'll be getting that back" said Petrofski rolling the dice. "Not if you land on my hotels you won't" replied Pel as Petrofski sighed, "there goes another one and a half thousand." Jasmine just laughed at the fact Pel was winning. "Papa, I believe you are bankrupt" said Pel after Petrofski had to mortgage all his properties on the board. "Good game, rematch?" asked Petrofski. "That can wait, Pel has to go and get measured" said Jasmine. "Mama, measured for what?" asked Pel. "A dinner dress" answered Jasmine. "Mama, why do I have to wear a dress just for dinner?" asked Pel. "It looks neat, when dignitaries are having dinner with us, it's always black tie" answered Jasmine, "even your papa has to wear a tuxedo and bow tie, women traditionally wear dresses for formal dinners" she said afterwards. "Pel, you'll also need to learn formal table manners" added Jasmine. "Yes Mama" answered Pel. "What color do you want?" asked Jasmine to Pel on the way to the tailor. "Blue" answered Pel. "Blue it is then" replied Jasmine smiling, "Come on, remember be polite" she said afterwards. "Yes Mama" answered Pel.

Blue noticed a PADD on her desk- usually kept clear of any miscellaneous items and picked it up confused before an automated message began to play.
"Don't obey illegal orders, if you go down that road, there is no coming back. I lost my late wife and crew due to your organization and I personally don't hold a grudge against you, your bosses however, different story. Section 31 are criminals who corrupt the very ideals of the Federation in the name of protecting it, do the right thing and disavow them because they are cowards who let their own citizens be murdered by my counterpart who was also member of Section 31.
Section 31 will find ways of killing you once you outlive your usefulness to them, you have the opportunity to do the right thing so don't waste it on a quest of revenge. They are using you to further their agenda, use your feelings and you'll know what you are about to do is wrong ethically and morally. Never hold a grudge, it's unhealthy."
Blue dropped the PADD to the floor. 'Who, how did this get here?" She clenched her fist taking a shuddering breath, and tapping her combage. "Commander Xal'bak, please meet me outside the conference room- immediately... This regards the 'disillusionment' we discussed yesterday.
"All senior staff members report to the briefing room in twenty minutes- no exceptions."
Within the briefing room Blue stood next to a Reman member of section 31 known as Xal'Bak. "As some of you are aware I took this mission because of what happened to my family when I was six years old. For those you who don't I will be brief: A Terran ship destroyed my colony- I was the only survivor.... And no I don't know who, why or how that got into our reality. I can only tell you it had what I can now say were Imperial markings- when I finally saw them again years later."
"I joined Section 31 to prevent what happened to my family from happening to another...." She and Xal'Bak turned around and walked over the wall mounted screen pulling up a changed plan of operations for the campaign- one which took them against the rebellion Section 31 had helped instigate. "yet here I was nearly ready to do the very same thing- No longer. Both operatives turned around having donned rebreathalizers, Blue pressed a button on her tricorder, as the doors sealed and a soft hiss was heard throughout the room.
"Computer begin monthly Quantum signature scan of the entire ship." Blue began, "This room is currently filling Mustard gas, if you're with me and values our organization was meant to protect speak now, Xal'Bak is not only gifted with limite memory alteration but is an empath."
Unknown to anyone the Union Kronous class Kireun warped away from the system- through the 'corridor', having despotised the message.

My fleets arrive in the system's outskirts at 0900 hours under cloak to hide from Dominion and Hurq sensors. I launch recon drones (cloaked along with temporary heat sinks) to scout the area for enemy positions. Fortunately, Odo hasn't noticed us yet so that gives us an edge in the upcoming space battle. Data from the drones streams into my holo computer as I coordinate the assault with my mate and Admiral Luperca of the Seoni-Wichita Alliance starship Lupus. I smile and order the drones to attack the Dominion-Hurq supply lines and positions.
Within minutes, the Dominion and Hurq lines collapse due to drone attacks and other unorthodox tactics. The drones disguise themselves as Hurq ships and attack Odo's fleet and vice versa. Purple and yellow beams of light streak back and forth among the enemy as I prepare to use the Roar of the Elders to finish them. Odo frantically orders his helmsman to evade, but it's checkmate. My ship fires a beam of energy at the vulnerable enemy ships which destroys them while the computer simulates a lion's roar since there's no sound in space (Insert "Aliens" quote here).
My mate prepares the portals with Hoopa and sends the dragons through. Suddenly, the Empersan sky darkens as thousands of draconic shapes materialize. The Hurq and Dominion forces are caught by surprise as my dragons begin to incinerate them alive. They manage to kill a few dragons to their credit, but are soon overwhelmed. I locate a Pah Wraith temple on the world via my ship's sensors and destroy it with a Light Fury's plasma blast. Now my Bajoran officers can rest easy knowing they won't be haunted by those filthy creatures. I beam the dragons to my ship and leave the system with my mate and fleets. We set a course back to Berk to rest and resupply for a possible conflict with Drake's forces.

The I.S.S. Athena had arrived, Admiral Lot and Pelagia Lot where greeted personally by Regent Petrofski. "Regent" said Naynta smiling. "Admiral, a pleasure to finally meet the infamous Admiral Lot. Cmdr Lot, I hear the Ask'kaar can do some funky things with prisoners" replied Petrofski. "I hear you got a haul of Section 31 prisoners" said Naynta enjoying the thought of breaking more playthings. "We have, they need breaking and your name was personally recommended by the Empress" replied Petrofski. "How's the wound?" asked Naynta. "It's better but still hurts like hell so I can't move so fast at the moment" answered Petrofski. "I cannot believe I missed out on a good fight" replied Naynta. "Next time me and my battle brothers go into combat, you'll receive an invitation. I hear you are quite the fighter" answered Petrofski smiling. "Regent, call me Pelagia" said Commander Lot. "Mario" replied Petrofski after shaking Pelagia's hand.
"A pleasure to meet you, Mario" answered Pelagia. "Ladies, follow me" replied Petrofski. When they got to the undisclosed prison, Naynta picked out one operative, "This one is scared, he'll do" she told the guard. The operative was dragged and questioned as his screams were heard throughout the cell block. "How many more of you are hiding in the Empire?" asked Naynta. "Please don't kill me, I can be useful" begged the operative. "Oh you will be useful by telling us where your friends are, thing is you and your friends instigated a rebellion which is still claiming the lives of Imperial citizens. Let's start at the beginning shall we?" asked Petrofski after he punched the operative in the stomach. "Where are your friends?" asked Naynta. "Don't hurt me" begged the operative as Naynta signaled the guard to throw the operative into he booth. "Ladies, I'll leave you two to your work. Break the prisoners and personally report to my residence with your findings" requested Petrofski. "We're going to enjoy this" said Pelagia as she and Naynta got to work. "You reap what you sow, remember that" said Petrofski to the operative before he was escorted home.
Later on during the evening, Petrofski was sat helping Pel on her homework when Naynta and Pelagia were shown in my Jasmine Smith-Petrofski. "Mrs Petrofski, congratulations" said Naynta to Jasmine. "Naynta, thank you" answered Jasmine. "Pel, we can carry this on later, Papa has grown up business to attend to" said Petrofski to Pel. "Yes Papa" answered Pel before she gave Petrofski a hug and left with Jasmine. "I did not know you two had a daughter" said Naynta. "It's a recent thing, we adopted her as a daughter due to family tragedy" answered Petrofski, "ladies, down to business, what have you both learned from our guests?" he asked afterwards as he poured Naynta, Pelagia and himself a drink. "We know who provided the explosives that killed mother, a man by the name of Franklin Drake. He's somewhere in the Prime Universe hiding an Imperial traitor" answered Pelagia taking a drink from her glass. "Interrogations also revealed that Section 31 provided the weapons, ships and training in order to weaken the Empire by causing internal rebellion. The Terran rebellion was also backed by Section 31" added Naynta. "Interesting, how many more groups are they supporting?" asked Petrofski. "They've been backing the remnants of the Klingon/Cardassian Alliance in a bid to dissolve the Empire and they provided the virus that is currently infecting Bajor" answered Naynta. "Pelagia, what has the Ask'kaar government said about the rebellion?" asked Petrofski. "Security forces are on high alert. We've also come to an agreement to aid the Empire should trouble flare up in the Alpha Quadrant, Ask'kaar intelligence has detected a possible uprising on Cardassia and Qo'noS in the near future" answered Pelagia.
"The prisoners did mention a battle station being constructed somewhere in the Teneebia sector in the Prime Universe and these names were found on a capture list" said Naynta passing Petrofski a PADD. "The Empress, the heirs and Fleet Admiral Heath Thay" read Petrofski, "ladies, thank you for bringing this to my attention. They just won't give up" he said afterwards. "The evidence seems to suggest it" replied Naynta. "Ask'kaar intelligence came up with the same conclusion, we caught several operatives on our side of the border" added Pelagia. "So we have the same information confirmed by two independent sources, put our forces on yellow alert for now and position ready to move should the need arise" recommended Petrofski. "My government will get your recommendation" replied Pelagia. "My fleet can be ready to move" added Naynta. "Thank you ladies, I need you both to inform the Empress and make sure she gets all intel on this matter. If that battle station moves, we have to be ready" answered Petrofski. "Mario, thank you for bringing this to our attention" replied Naynta. "Ladies, those prisoners are my gift to you both, enjoy" said Petrofski. "Mario, we'll leave you to get back to your family. We'll be in contact if anything else comes up" replied Pelagia. "Good luck, ladies" answered Petrofski before he saw them off. "That's the Bear of Verdent Prime, he's a fighter" commented Naynta to Pelagia on the way to the Athena.

Congratulations on another successful mission. When they expect you to use a hammer, a scalpel can be more effective.
Going forward you are now authorized to deal with any other of these individuals that you encounter as you see fit, with extreme prejudice.
But first, take some down time to recover.
That's an order.

Thank you for your vocal support. Know I do not blame the citizens of Terra for the acts of a few. These savages have remained at liberty for far too long. I am declaring open season for these savages and will be bringing in the hunters to end them.
Enjoy the show.

-Lord Commander Solar Macharius

"Who would have thought Leeta would give us the means- even unintentionally to crush the Empire, not to mention that the 'Eye of Terra' was in the palace vaults for who knows how long?"

-Lord Commander Solar Macharius
-Lord Commander Solar Macharius

If the Liberated Drone can be trusted (that's important) then Valdez would pair the drone up with his daughter and see how well they work together as a team though Trianna (yellow) may approve of some friendly competition to see who's the best at breaking into computers (Borg efficiency vs Creativity).

This is the level damage Petrofski's Battle Station can unleash
-Lord Commander Solar Macharius
-Lord Commander Solar Macharius
-Lord Commander Solar Macharius

One week to launch

*Operation: Toothless* (Sapph's POV. Aboard PLV Temporal Lapras)
(Battle of Empersa)
"Simba, you have forgotten me. You have forgotten who you are … you are my son and the one true king." (Mufasa)
